Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2: Unlucky Day

I woke up the next day because of my alarm. It's Monday again. Haaa~ I really hate mornings.

I got off of my bed and immediately took a shower. After that, I got dressed and then jumped into the car.

Mom left on Saturday afternoon. She said she’ll contact me. Until now, I'm still thinking if I'm gonna follow my parents in Korea on Christmas break. Argh! My brain is tired. I have to stop thinking about anything.

“Ma'am Faye?”

I was brought back to reality when the driver tapped me.

“U-Uh, yes? What is it?”

“I was tapping you since earlier, are you all right?” he curiously asked, I nodded. “We are already here, ma'am.”

While I’m thinking about what I should decide on what Mom said, I didn't realize that we were here in the parking lot of the school.

“Ah all right, hehe. Bye!” I said shyly before getting out of the car.

When I saw Hazel, I hurried to her. She screamed.

“Gosh, sis! You startled me!”

I beamed. “Sorry. Oh, by the way, where is Ella?”

“She chatted in our groupchat. She said she can't come to school today because she would watch over Lily because their maids are--- wait, you didn't read it, did you?” Hazel raised an eyebrow at me.

“I didn’t.” I laughed.

“Psh. That's what I already thought. Let's go."

We're on our way to the room when we bumped into someone. I was shocked when she acted strangely all of a sudden.

“Ouch! You hit me!” she shouted at the two of us.

I frowned. Huh?

“What are you saying? We're just on the edge and we'll still hit you?” Hazel faced her.

“Can’t you see this?” she showed us the dotted scratch on her leg. “This is your fault!"

“Don't blame us for your stupidity, girl.” Hazel added.

“You ugly---”

The woman did not continue what she was going to say when Hazel slapped her. I covered my mouth in shock.

“Look at your face in the mirror, you're even uglier than my dead nails. So get out of my face if you don't want to lose all your hair!” Hazel warned.

The woman quickly left. What happened was shocking. My bestfriend is such a strong girl! I'm so proud!

"Gosh! It's so hot!" Hazel irritately said.

"Oh my god, Hazel! That's so fierce!" I said excitedly.

"Yeah, right. And you should be the same. Be strong so that you are not hurt and trampled on by people. It is better to know how to fight than to go home and always cry ..."

-----

We went to our room. Hazel and I sat in the back and just waited for our professor.

"May I call your attention for a minute?" our class president asked suddenly, "Announcement, guys. Next week we will start our practice for cheerdance and we will have a program on Wednesday for our professors."

"But we can't afford it, practice is only half a day?" asked one of my classmates.

"Don't worry, we don't have classes tomorrow but you're not allowed to be absent tomorrow because we will practice and have attendance. There may be singers and dancers. Okay?"

"Yes." We all answer at once.

After the announcement the president has recessed. Hazel and I decided not to go to the cafeteria because we were still full and it might be time for us not to eat in the long queue.

"Beb, take a picture here, hurry up!" Hazel.

"Huh? I don't want to."

"Why? It's easy, I'll just send it to Ella. I'm done taking pictures, eh."

"All right. Psh."

"Just 3 shots promise."

"Oh, hurry up."

"Smile, halating pilit, oy. Oh wacky dali last na."

* Wacky *

"Perfect! Waaaah, baby! You're so beautiful just like me."

"Yeah, right." I just said, we laughed together.

It was a long time before our next class so I just browsed on Facebook. The number of pop-up notifications on my cellphone screen again.

76 notifications. 25 messages.

I opened my notification one by one and it was annoying that Marco was the only one who liked my statuses, posts, and shares.

After the torture of those 76 notifications, I was in the messages. The volume also sounds. When I saw the chatheads, my head got even hotter when I saw Marco's name in front of me. From him came 10 messages. Tsk, jerk!

I opened his messages ...

Marco Ramos: Hi!

Marco Ramos: Good evening.

Marco Ramos: Hello, Faye.

Marco Ramos: Good morning.

Marco Ramos: Have you had breakfast yet?

Marco Ramos: Are you going to E.H.U?

Marco Ramos: Are you in E.H.U?

Marco Ramos: Hey?

Marco Ramos: Faye?

Marco Ramos: Respond to my messages, please.

As usual, I just seen his messages. After a while he suddenly chatted again. Uh-oh. I have nothing to lose. I need to reply.

Marco Ramos: Hey, you're online.

Faye De Leon: What do you need, huh? Are you a stalker? I'll report you to the police!

Then, I immediately logged out. I sighed.

Psh. You are the one who disturbs my quiet life.

"Oh, why do you look like that? You look like heaven and earth are covering you, you frown badly, baby?" Hazel asked while laughing at me. I rolled my eyes.

"Nah. I'm just not in the mood."

"Don't me, Faye. I know you so well. C'mon, spill it out."

"K fine. Do you know who's Marco Ramos?"

"And what about him, huh?" he seemed to be intrigued by the question.

“He's bothering me. Ugh! I hate him.”

“Why?”

“From time to time my notification and messenger sound. I’m not replying to him and I logged out immediately.”

“Ah,” she nodded as she smiled sarcastically.

“What?”

“No. Maybe you're just being fooled on. I know he’s a playboy, a womanizer. Be careful, sis.”

“Tsk. I don’t care.”

“Why so defensive, sis?” Hazel giggled.

“I don't even know him although I see him here at East High but we're not even talking to each other but he’s feeling close. Duh.”

“Okay. You said so.” she teased me then she went back to what she was doing.

Argh! Do I look defensive? That bastard.

I said goodbye to Hazel and said that I will go to the comfort room since we still have 15 minutes before our next subject. I was about to enter the comfort room when the person from the male’s room came out. Oh my gosh! Spell UNLUCKY: F-A-Y-E!

“Hey,” he said with a grin on his lips.

“Will you stop bothering me? I told you I'll report you---”

“Go ahead. Report me to the cops. I don't mind. But I won't stop bugging you…”

Then he pinched my cheeks! What the heck? You crazy jerk!

I think today is my UNLUCKY DAY!
