Chapter 9

"Let's go?" I greeted Theo who was sitting quietly on the bench while staring into the distance.

I did not receive an answer from him so I approached until I was by his side.

I tried to wave my hand to his face but he still did not react. It seems that what ever is he thinking he's too drawn with that.

So what I did was, I bent down a little so that I could level to his ear and I blew it softly.

I quickly distanced myself from him as he scratched his ear and turned to my place, he quickly frowned when he saw me.

"Let's go?" He nodded and slung his bag at his back.

"Hi Alex" I smiled at my clubmate as she greeted me even though she was carrying a box.

It is also noteworthy the sudden increase of the number of people wandering around and they are like ants roaming around to look for food. The school seems like a cemetery awhile ago for its quiet and clean but now it looks like a busy market.

I looked at Theo but he was oblivious on his surrounding to the point that he did not even notice me, he seemed to be walking stunned.

I poked and tugged his arm, "What's up? Why there are so many people?" I asked as he looked back at me.

"You're a bad student, Ishi" he said foolishly which surprised me.

"No" was my defense but he weakly appealed.

"Are you sure?" I nodded. "Why don't you know what's up?" I looked at him badly so he raised his both hands as a sign of surrender.

"Tomorrow is our foundation day and yet you do not know" he scoffed and walked ahead of me.

"It's tomorrow" I whispered to myself and chased Theo who was a bit far away, I hope everyone has long legs.

When I got to his back I pulled his bag which stopped him. I raised both my hands to my knees and temporarily sucked in air, gasping for breath.

"Wa-wait for me" I gasped.

He looked at my face and smiled, "Poor you, because you are too small" he teased.

I smirked at him and proudly lifted my head, "That's fine, atleast I'm beautiful then I'm okay with my height, I can't bump my head from doors or something" I replied before I took my tumbler from my bag.

I saw his forehead furrowed when he saw my bag and he followed it with his gaze.

"What's that?" He pointed to my bag which caused me to hesitate to drink.

"Which one?" I put the bag forward looking for what he was pointing at.

"This?" I showed him the keyring flower I got in the box earlier.

His eyes widened and he grabbed the keyring in my grip and I was also pulled because I was wearing the bag.

He looked at me darkly, "Why do you have this?" Huh? Does he know whose the owner of that keyring?

"Because it's mine, it's in the gold box with my name on it" I truthfully replied.

"Where did you get it?" He continued.

What's in that keyring? Why there's so many questions? Does he want that? If that's the case he can have it, but...

I kept on looking at the keyring, it was so beautiful, so I won't give it to him, it was given to me so I am the owner.

"Inside my locker" I proudly muttered then I puckered my lips when I saw his jaw intensified in anger.

"You're happy? Aren't you even surprised? How can they put a box in your locker? Aren't you closing it?" He asked as I suddenly think on it, I felt nervous.

Of course, there is no problem with letters because they can squeeze it through the gap of the locker door but not the box.

"I close it th--" he cut me off by pulling me with him. He walked quickly to the parking lot that I almost tripped but I just let him maybe he was worried and annoyed.

He opened the door for me and let me in, once I'm settled he secured me through the seatbelt.

He slammed the door which made me jumped a little from my seat, I pouted then checked the keyring on my bag because he might taken it completely.

"You're so reckless, Ishi" he preached to me before operating the car.

I just chose to keep quiet and listen to his words rather than to worsen the mess and he would get even angrier with me.

"I'll just deliver you and I'll go back to school again to check your locker" he said and I just nodded. I gave him my locker's key and passcode so he could easily check the things inside.

"Next time, if you see anything strange in your locker, tell me right away" I smiled at his reaction.

I looked at the keyring again and it was so familiar to me, as if I had seen or touched it.

I tried to remember where I saw the keyring but I failed. Maybe I'll try to remember later or maybe I'll look at my room because it felt like I saw it in my room.

"Be careful Ishi. Do not harm yourself" he said and I saw the sudden change of emotion in his eyes that I can not name.

He was the fourth to say that I should be careful, maybe I should take seriously what they say and order.

That's right, that's what I'm going to do.

When we got home, he removed my seatbelt and opened the door.

"Thank you" I bowed and smiled then say goodbye to him.

I took a bigger strides for me to immediately reached the house to start looking for something when I saw from my peripheral view, Clarenz.

He smiled at me sadly, "Come here baby" he called me which I immediately followed, I sat down next to him and I put my bag beside my feet.

"Sorry" he whispered and hugged me.

"That's okay. I'm also sorry if I'm interfering with you, I just don't want you to cause trouble that migbt ruin your name" I felt him smile but after that he incessantly shook his head.

"No. That's fine, I mean sorry for everything" my chest tightened when I felt the wetness of my uniform and I could hear his stifled sobs.

Instead of speaking, I just hugged him back tightly. He cried and cried and cried and I just let him, for now he needs someone to lean on my image. I will postpone what I will do for it is still early.

He broke our hug and caress my face, "Synchóresé me an den eímai ekeí merikés forés me chreiázesai kai lógo tis améleias mou écheis viósei ti sklirótita tou kósmou, synchóresé me an cháthikes exaitías mou" (Forgive me if I am not there at times need me and because of my negligence you have experienced the cruelty of the world, forgive me if you perished because of me) after that he kissed me on my forehead then left me dumbfounded.

He deceived me, he knows that I am not very knowledgeable in greek language but still he used that but because he is hurting now I will let this day passed.

I picked up my bag again and walked towards my room, I will do what I had to do. I laughed like a crazy woman on my mind.
