Chapter Six

When Mel opens her eyes the next morning, Alex is laying there watching her. She wonders how long he has been watching her sleep. When he sees that she is awake he gives her a big smile and says "Good morning." She smiles back and says "Morning, what time is it?" Alex looks at the clock on the bedside table behind Mel and says "It's 8:30am." Mel groans "Still early" and Alex gives a chuckle and kisses her on the head before telling her that they need to be up before Kevin comes back. Mel nods knowing if Kevin sees this then he would take it the wrong way and think something happened. "Okay, I will be out in a few minutes." He nods and kisses her head again before getting off the bed and walking out of the room. Mel lays there for a few minutes allowing herself to think about how nice it was to fall asleep in Alex's arms and wake up to see his face. Her thoughts then move to his gorgeous abs and she lets out a groan before getting out of bed. She looks in the mirror to make sure her hair doesn't look like a birds nest then walks out of her room to find Alex while still wearing her shorts and t-shirt she slept in.

When she finds him he is in the kitchen preparing breakfast, so she helps him and they both take their breakfast to the table in the garden. They are eating when they hear Kevin's voice coming from somewhere behind. Mel turns slightly and he has just come out of the house. He comes over and kisses Mel on the top of her head as usual then says to Alex "Did you stay here last night or have you just arrived back?" Alex says that he slept here last night so that Mel wasn't alone in the house over night. Kevin gets a weird look on his face but Mel understands that look and says "You can wipe that look off your face now Kevin Harris, nothing happened apart from sleep." Alex looks like he is going to say something but his phone rings so he says "Excuse me" and walks towards the house as he answers it.

Kevin sits down near Mel and says "So he stayed the night huh? He slept on the sofa?" Mel turns slightly pink as she says "To start off with he was on the sofa but I couldn't sleep and went downstairs for some water, and found him awake and he couldn't sleep either. So he got in my bed and we just cuddled up to see if that helped." There was no reason why Mel should let Kevin know that kissing was involved. Kevin wiggles his eyebrows and Mel says "Stop it, I told you nothing happened. He was the perfect gentleman and all we did was snuggle up and sleep." Kevin smiles and says "But you wanted something to happen didn't you?" Mel slaps his arm and shouts "Kevin!!" making Kevin giggle like a schoolgirl. Mel then says quietly "Maybe."

Mel changes the subject and says "Oh we found your little note last night." Kevin smiles and says "You like him and in rehearsal and last night he made it very obvious that he likes you too, yes I saw you both in the garden. So I thought you could do with spending some time together alone. Plus my hidden motive... if you two hit it off really well then you won't be able to leave him here and will stay here instead of going home. I miss you when you are at home. You are my family and I want you near me not far away." Mel gives him a hug and says "I missed you too. I hate only being able to contact you on phone or video call. It's not the same as being here with you in person. As for Alex... well you know I like him a lot and he says he likes me too and wants to get to know me, so thank you Kevin" and she leans towards him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Alex comes back just as Mel excuses herself to go and shower and change her clothes.

When she has had her shower she quickly rubs her hair with a towel so it is not dripping then wraps a towel around her body and walks out into her bedroom. Alex is in there sat on her bed. As he looks at her he has a strange look in his eyes at the sight of her in just a towel. She sees him shake his head a little then he finally says "I need to go home and shower and change, but I have a rare day off today so I was thinking maybe we could spend time together getting to know each other more. Maybe head to the beach?" Mel nods and says "Yeah sure, I love the beach." Alex smiles as he says "Okay I will pick you up in about an hour then. Is that okay?" Mel nods and Alex leaves after placing a kiss on her head.

Mel quickly gets dressed putting on a short red skirt, black t-shirt and sandals. She then brushes her hair but leaves it down and applies a small amount of makeup before going downstairs to wait. When she gets down there she finds Kevin sat on the sofa and he says "Wow you look nice, so what are you doing today?" Mel smiles and tells him "Alex is coming back in about an hour then we are going to the beach to get to know each other more. What about you?" He smiles and says "I'm going to the mall with Anna then after that I'm not sure yet. I was going to invite you to come with us so you weren't alone, but maybe another time." He smiles and then continues with "I am happy you are spending the day with Alex." Mel smiles and says "Yes maybe another time I will come" and just then Anna phones to ask Kevin if he is ready yet.
