Day break snuck in through the curtains. Ashleigh slipped from under Phoenix, slipping the car keys out of his pocket. She snuck out of the cabin un-aware that he’d woke. She slipped the key into the car door, where he grabbed her hand. ‘Where do you think you’re going?’
‘No where.’
‘Don’t lie to me Ash.’ He said pulling her hand off the car key twisting her arm behind her back. ‘You were running weren’t you?’ he asked taking the keys out of the car door, slipping them into his pocket.
He pushed her into the cabin. She slid across the wooden floor. His hand cracked across her face. ‘You bitch! How many times have I got to tell you we’re together?’
He grabbed her wrists pushing them down onto the wooden floor. ‘I love you Ash. The sooner you realise that the better.’ He squeezed tighter. ‘No more trying to run okay!’
‘Stop Phoenix you’re hurting me.’
‘You’re not going to run again are you?’
‘No.’
‘Good.’
He placed his lips on hers kissing her. He pulled away pulling them both to their feet. He loosed her wrists gliding his hand down her face, placing it round her throat. ‘If you ever do anything like this again I’ll break every bone so you can’t move. Got it!’
‘Yeah.’
‘Good at least we understand one another.’ He said taking his hand from round her throat.
He place his lips on hers kissing her, placing his hand on the back of her head kissing her harder, making sure that she returned his kiss.
He pulled away taking his hand off the back of her head, placing it on her face. ‘I love you Ash.’
She stared at him blank.
‘What’s wrong Ash? Aren’t you going to tell me you love me too? Or don’t you anymore?’
‘I – I – love you.’
‘That’s better.’ He smiled placing his lips back on hers kissing her.
He pulled away.
‘What if they find us?’
‘They won’t trust me.’
'What about the guys?’
‘We’ll lay low for a few days then we’ll call them tell them we’re safe to okay.’
‘Okay.’
He smiled. ‘I love you Ash. This will work I promise you.’
