Chapter 3: First Day of Training?

'How is this possible?' Philomina thought to herself and sat down on her chair still staring at Paimon in disbelief. She's also thinking about what Vian said to her last night about her dream being a premonition, in which she has a feeling that it is coming true.

"Alright, since we are done with the introductions. I will not present to you some rules that both student and mentor have to follow." Hyodo stated in a serious tone and tension came back into the room.

"So there are six rules that both of you need to follow. If you violate any of the rules, both of you will be put into sanction." He continued and the students started to pay attention even more for the rules.

"Rule number one, students should always listen to their mentors especially during training hours. Next rule, rule number two, students should always obey to their mentors' orders and to the given training regime. Rule number three, mentors should always watch over, give feedback and guide their student during the process of the training. Then for rule number four, mentors should remain professional in giving feedback to their students, subjective feedback won't be accepted; students please do not be afraid on reporting to my office you felt that the feedback is subjective." Hyodo said while glancing to the students then to the mentors. All of the students in the room nodded in response.

"To continue, next is rule number five, students and mentors should work together in order for the student to change class. Right now, all of you haven't picked a class, after this I will present to you the different classes that you can choose that best fits you. And lastly, rule number six, students and mentors should NOT have intimate contact with each other, unless the student has already graduated." Philomina raised her hand after Hyodo presented all of the rules that needed to be followed. Hyodo called Philomina and asked her to stand,

"What is it, Philomina?" Hyodo asked and she stood up from her seat.

"What do you mean by intimate contact, sir?" She asked and then sat back down again on her seat.

"Well, you know like hugging, kissing or anything more than that." Hyodo explained shortly and Philomina sat down on her chair. Zagan lightly snickered and then whispered to Paimon,

"Dude, I think your student is kind of-" He cut off when Paimon whispered back,

"Don't you even think about completing your statement, Zagan." earning Zagan a glare from Paimon in which he just shrugged it off.

"But I believe that this batch will go through smoothly. Now, on to the different classes, first of all, all students are call 'trainees' on the start of their training here in UMDA then after training with your mentors and you pass the test, you will now go to the next class which is the wizard class. In this class, you will be taught that believing is the heightened level of your powers."

"Believing? Like to yourself?" Greta asked out loud to the class.

"Yes, that is correct Greta. Your mentors will guide and assist you more on this." Hyodo stated and the other mentors just nodded their heads in assurance.

"After wizard class is the mage class, wherein you are taught to protect the things that are precious to you and of course your mentors will still guide you on this class. If you have any more questions, your mentors will gladly answer them. Mentors, guide your students well." He continued while staring at all of the mentors and all of the mentors just nodded their heads.

"And with that this period will be your training, so you can go to your respective mentors and start training. The training grounds is open so you can start there or whatever your mentor has already in store for you. Good luck trainees." Hyodo said and he left the classroom. Everyone got off from their seats and meet up with their mentors.

'Wow, everyone sure is mentally prepared for this.' Philomina thought to herself as she look around and observe the classroom.

Baalberith is already starting give out training regime to Greta, who is writing everything down on her black notebook. Questions kept on coming from Greta and answers were given by Baalberith.

"Hmmm... I see but how can I learning healing magic in my case?" Greta asked another question.

"We can start with focusing on you learning how you view light and from there we can get to somewhere. I'll be doing some demonstration later at the grounds." Baalberith answered and Greta continue on writing on her black notebook while nodding.

Meanwhile, Vian and Amon are talking at one side of the room and Amon is doing mostly of the talking and Vian is just listening and nodding her head,

"Do you remember all of what I said to you?" Amon said strictly to Vian.

"Yes, I got most of it but I have-"

"I told you no questions and just listen to me." Amon cut off Vian before she could ask a question.

"Yes but-"

"Remember what I said? I have expectations from you, being Lady Jezebel's successor." He replied back coldly.

"Yes." She replied and sighed earning a nod from Amon replying,

"That's what I thought so."

'Wow, they sure went off at a rough start. But Greta and sir Baalberith are going well. Good for them.' Philomina continued with her thoughts and then she glanced that the other side of the room, where she saw Reine and Lugh discussing the training regime,

"I'm planned of checking your control and physical aspect first on using ether magic. We will focus on that one first then we can go to another element if I see that you have master the ether magic."

"I'll take note of that sir Lugh." Reine replied and nodded.

"Also if you have any questions, you can ask me." He replied back to Reine and she thought for a minute and then she said,

"I don't have any questions so far, sir Lugh." Lugh nodded on her response.

"Alright, let's go to the library so I can discuss to you some technical terms about how to improve your skills." He said and then Reine went to her seat and get her things and they were about to go to the library.

'Reine and sir Lugh are also doing good as well.' Philomina thought while she was looking at them and then suddenly her thoughts were cut off when someone tapped her shoulder and she turn around to see,

"Hello there Philomina. How about we start with your training?" Paimon said with a bright grin on his face.

"Y - Yes sir Paimon." Philomina stuttered as she is not comfortable talking to people that she just met and Paimon noticed this easily.

"Your face says that you have some kind of question. Ask away don't be shy." He said gently to Philomina, trying to make her comfortable.

"Ummm... Why do you and sir Zagan have ears and a tail?" She asked while looking at Paimon's ears, responding to that Paimon's ears twitched and then he said,

"Oh well, you're aware that underworld is filled with different creatures, right?" Philomina nodded as her response to Paimon.

"Well, you can say that I belong to a glaring of Nekomatas, wherein we are demons that have cat - like properties. While Zagan belongs to a pack of Werewolves, wherein they are demons that have wolf - like properties." Paimon explained to Philomina and she looked back forth from Zagan to Paimon and noticed that difference between the two men.

"Ohhh I see... How about your idol group?" She asked another question and Paimon's ears perked up.

"You mean the Seven Deadly Sins? What about it?"

"Are there also seven members in your group?"

"Yeah there seven members in our group and each of us were based on the deadly sin that you know. For me its Avaritia which means greed, Zagan is Acedia which means sloth, then Baalberith is Luxuria which is lust and for Lugh its Ira which is wrath."

"That's very interesting! The Seven Deadly in a different language." Philomina beamed as she heard from her mentor more about their group and Paimon was taken aback from her reaction and gently smiled toward his student.

'At least she has lighten up a bit.' He thought to himself while looking at Philomina, writing down the different members of the Seven Deadly Sins and their corresponding sin.

"How about the other sins?" She asked Paimon, cut off from his thoughts and looked at Philomina.

"Well..." He was about to tell Philomina the other members of the group when suddenly,

"Hey! What the hell are you doing?!" Yen, on the ground ties with vines, exclaimed at the top of her lungs and the others are watching at the sidelines.

"I said that we will start training now human! So I can go back to my place and rest!" Zagan exclaimed back to Yen and dragging her outside the classroom.

"Philomina! Reine! Help me!!!" Yen struggling to untangle herself from the vine but failed to so, and the others just watched Yen got dragged off outside the classroom.

'I'm glad that he was not my mentor.' Every student thought to themselves as they looked at their classmate getting dragged outside. Things sure are starting to take off in an interesting way for this school year at UMDA.
