DEMONS

KING

Watching her tears affected me in a way that I had experienced only once before. That dreadful moment when I watched my mother's crying face for the last time ran in my mind. I didn't realise when she started treating the last wound on my body as my mind was foggy with those terrifying memories.

"Miss Maxwell" words slipped out my lips in a whisper.

She finished with the last bandage and pulled her hands away from me. I grabbed them, but she didn't turn her face to me. She kept avoiding looking at me and that made me feel agitated.

"You should response back immediately when I call your name. Have you forget it already?"

"Y-Yes" she stuttered.

"Why are you avoiding looking at me?" I asked in a hard voice, not able to control the surge of emotions within me.

"N-no. I am not."

"Then prove it" I challenged.
