Volume I: Chapter 5: The Invitation

The coronation's final phase has just started.

With no option but to accept the new successor to the throne, everyone presented their greetings to the new Emperor.

Every now and then, the introducer calls out loud and clear to each noble as they arrive at the royal assembly.

"From the Wintersfields Capital of the Northeast Countryside!! Duke Oliver Canon!!"

To everyone's surprise, one of the most well-known nobles shows up.

Specifically, an official.

Sigmund's childhood friend and the pure cousin of the imperial princess.

A future prince-to-be, he is the one who is currently engaged to Princess Minerva of the Gemma Peninsula. The center of business and trade within the whole Silver Crest empire was also the land of crops and grains.

The crowd started mumbling as he entered, making the atmosphere change and come alive.

Then he went to the Emperor to greet him.

After a few minutes,.

Arriving from the nation on the southwest coast was Duke George Sheldon. the center of the timber, salt, and fishing industries.

Rather than welcoming the Emperor first, the duke went in search of Princess Lizobelle. He has a sharper sense of relocating the imperial princess than Duke Oliver himself, who is a relative.

Duke Oliver tailed Duke Sheldon, hoping that he might bring him to his cousin, the Imperial Princess, and luckily he was right.

"Hey Lizzy," he greeted, meeting the imperial Princess Lizobelle as he finally found her in the crowd.

"Nothing seems to change," Oliver said, giving Duke Sheldon a manly hug (actually strangling him playfully from behind). "Go greet the emperor, loverboy," Oliver added, pushing him in the new emperor's direction.'

He offers his hand and guides her to the balcony so they can properly chat.

Greetings exchanged, she inquired, "How's Mother?"

"She's alright," was his succinct response.

"And?" she asks, awaiting further details.

With a cheerful grin, he said, "Uh. Short-tempered as usual."

She chuckled sarcastically. They stopped, and she said, "Looks like you're getting used to her." They moved over to the balcony area and the duke reclined back, resting his elbows on the cement rims of the fences, relaxing.

He said this as he was enjoying the breeze that fondly caressed his hair. "Every official worries about this event."

"The nobles gather for this concern. You know that no one wants that guy on the throne," he said, emphasizing his disapproval while pointing his thumb towards where the new Emperor is.

'They're on the watch and are very expectant. Everyone knew that the previous emperor was not an idiot for making such a decision and throwing everything into the trash," he stated in a serious voice.

"I remember your face when you saw the incident years ago. It's hard to believe what you were saying even though you had your hands and voice trembling at that time but then I saw the future Great Emperor being pinned down to the ground by the ten elite threaders of the empire." His gaze is fixed on her.

"Unfortunately, I can't persuade anyone and I don't want to do it either.

I am aware that there is nothing I can do about it. He grinned, "All I can do is watch him show himself to them.

"So they're coming here to test him to see if he is worthy enough," he exclaimed, grinning broadly and in a cheerful manner.

The introducer announced four other names for nobles and royals.

From the land of energy and electricity, the Northern Capital of the Windsphere, comes Princess Beatrice Caroline.

From the eastern capital of Coromfield, Prince Caster Lohann comes from a land of mining and petroleum.

Princess Shannon Winslet comes from the expansive grasslands and grazing fields of West Constantine.

The center of defense, combat, and military hardware is Prince Orion Luce Della Sera, who hails from Fidelpia, the capital of the South.

"At last! They're here," he declared.

Oliver asked, "Do you want to watch the show, princess?" and extended his hand to lead her back inside.

Meanwhile, within the assembly space,.

Back in the Center Kingdom, the arrival of the other royalties and nobles brought an intense sensation that resulted in a thrilling silence.

Everyone gave their salutes and greetings to the new emperor, including the four other nobles.

"We have prepared a beautiful presentation that will take place in the middle ground garden," Prince Caster stated. The Middle Ground Garden is the widest receiving area in the palace. It can accommodate hundreds of people.

Everyone arrived at the venue to see the performance.

For the introduction, Prince Caster moved to the center of the Middle Ground Garden and released his sacred weapon for the introduction.

"Atom Corpus," he said, unsealing his weapon.

It is tongue-piercing that grants the ability to change into a different form.

He changed into a stunning phoenix with fiery wings that flapped beautifully.

Using her sacred weapon, the Eastern Tempest, Princess Beatrice, used the wind that was supposed to hit the crowd to make it into beautiful swirling tornadoes.

Prince Caster re-transforms into a ferocious beast after Princess Shannon uses her Complex-type sacred weapon, the Raven's Heart, to make figures in the air that amuse the audience. Last but not least, Prince Orion uses Metal Frost, his sacred weapon, to create the perfect armor and weapon for the beast.

The final act is to join together, scattered, aiming to kill Emperor Evan.

Emperor Evan evaded both the initial and subsequent attacks.

Princess Beatrice's Eastern Tempest fanned sharp wind blades as the beast kept trying to strike him.

Prince Orion provides chains and metal traps for him. He manipulates metals and other materials and combines and merges them to create a destructible weapon or even release a whole new set of gear if he wants to.

Metal frost is a blacksmith's sacred weapon.

Princess Shannon creates little illusions in combination with those attacks to lure him toward the set traps.

It left the crowd in awe.

In the hands of a skilled threader, sacred weapons are considered works of art.

There is a loud applause, without even thinking that the prey is their new emperor.

'Humans are the greatest beast," the emperor thought.

Even though they performed several flawless strikes, not a single scratch reached their monarch.

Princess Beatrice said, pointing the tip of her Eastern Tempest at Emperor Evan, "Withdraw from the throne now."

They all came together to oppose him.

"Insolent fool! How dare you point your sacred weapon against me in my kingdom?" the Emperor replied.

"Whispering Paradox," unsealing his sacred weapon.

Whispering Paradox is a rare type of sacred weapon.

When he said, "Gravity," a powerful force drew the beast prince to the ground, where he seemed to kiss the floor. Prince Caster's weapon seals back and returns him to his human form.

Before Prince Orion finished his creation, he merged a glaive with an axe blade.

"Paralyze," the emperor said, and he made the young prince immobile.

When Princess Shannon and Princess Beatrice witnessed this, they were astonished.

The Great Emperor concealed his second son because he was his secret weapon.

He was the worst killing machine!

He said, "Pain," and Princess Shannon let out a cry of excruciating agony. She fell to the ground and cried out for help.

Princess Beatrice collapses to her knees, trembling in shock.

The Emperor approaches her and presses his pointer against her forehead. He murmured, "Sleep," and she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

In a matter of seconds, he said, "I won," and turned to walk away.

Everyone was in complete shock, and not a single person in the assembly dared to speak.

With the exception of the four future officials who were attempting to gather themselves after the loss, nobody dared to move or talk.

"Sweet," Duke Oliver uttered with cold perspiration and weakening hands and knees.

The imperial princess shook for a moment. "The New Emperor of the Silver Crest Empire..." she muttered.

She muttered, "The same power that almost killed my father."

The four nobles went to the fifth official.

"Oliver, you did not come with us. If you were here, we could have defeated him," Prince Caster murmured, his limp body supported by Prince Orion. "We could have won if you were there," he stated.

The duke said, "No. We won't." He said it like he was 100 percent sure.

"Besides, I already accepted him as my Emperor eleven years ago," he said.

Duke Cannon grinned and added, "I know you wouldn't listen or believe me if I told you so I let you see it for yourselves."

I saw him being pinned down before his very eyes by many elite threaders but still, this is the first time that the Duke has fully witnessed what the second prince is capable of.

Everything makes perfect sense, and he finally comprehends it.

The celebration came to an end.

Nobody is brave enough to criticize or even attempt to disparage the new ruler.

At this point, the nobility respects Emperor Evans.

It appears that the Whisper of the Whispering Paradox silenced the uttering mouths of the people.

The prince entered his room. He threw up blood but it was not from any wounds or injuries. It is from the use of his sacred weapon. Such power that no one can even contain, not even him, and now it is lavished on mankind.

However, it is still incomplete and he is still not capable of it.
