Chapter 19 - White Wolf Guild

As Kyle got the notifications, he could feel the qi inside of him, all going into the pearl, as it went it, it came out of the other side straight away. The pulling force of the pearl was immense, to say the least, but the energy that came out was very different now.

First, it was fully azure in colour, and it was incredibly pure. All of the unneeded pieces of energy that were twisted and turned were now gone and what was left was only the purest qi you could ever find.

What surprised Kyle was that he could feel that there was some strong force building up inside of the pearl in one of the areas he could access. That area was always empty, and he could easily access it, now he was unable to go in. Looking from a distance, the main difference was that now that area had been filled to 50% with unknown purple liquid. Something that resembled qi but was much more raw and uncontrollable. It was as if all of the imperfections of the qi were stored inside of this container.

'If I understand this correctly, this should be the systems experience bar. So the qi that I get by cultivating is the initial stage of cultivation, after I reach some level it will be converted, or even doubled into the experience for the system. Convenient…' All of this was very confusing at first, but now Kyle could understand clearly how this complex system worked.

Kyle also checked his body to see that now it was much sturdier and has been improved physically by leaps and bound compared to before. This was great timing, right at the moment before the expedition.

Kyle was uneasy being around a level 1 hero. Still, as he was cultivating both the ancient cultivation and the system, both being at the 50% of level 0 would combine to be at least on par of level 1 adventurer who only had a system.

Kyle spent the rest of the night cultivating more power and integrating the power of qi into his body.

Right before it started to get bright, Kyle was already at the gate. As he expected the whole guild was already there, waiting for someone. Just as he came close to them, a figure dropped from somewhere above. It was still dark outside, but by the way, it moved and behaved it was the leader of the guild, a female elf.

As soon as she dropped down, she looked behind straight at Kyle, she paused for the moment and then waved her hand commanding everyone to start moving.

'Arrogant. She hasn't even spoken to me once.' Kyle was unhappy with unfair treatment. He was not useless and would probably agree to help them if anything happened, 'If suddenly a powerful beast attacks your guild, don't expect me to help any of you.'

The expedition was very different from what Kyle imagined. There were no horses, and they're also were not running. Everyone carried a huge bag on their back and sometimes multiple bags in their arms. The whole guild was very slowly marching. With this rate, Kyle didn't want to think how long will it take to get to the forest where he appeared, at least 2 months.

The guild consisted of many different races, but all of them were never disrespectful to one another. Also, they seldom worshipped the elf that was leading them. Every half-word command was executed immediately, and everything was going as if the whole process was repeated for hundreds of expeditions.

Everyone basically ignored Kyle, even when the whole guild decided to eat before going to bed, they didn't ask if he wanted to eat, they gave him some type of potato mash and called it a day.

The whole expedition moved like this for 7 days, and all of this time, Kyle was cultivating none stop. Sometimes Kyle would on purpose stay behind for a couple of hours to practice before catching up with the main guild. His progress was very steadily approaching the next breaking through point and Kyle couldn't wait to experience what it meant to breakthrough with cultivation and with the system. 'If it is anything like what I experienced in the cave with the Lion, where after breakthrough I very simply overpowered it. Then I can not wait to experience this change.'

The main reason that Kyle trained so hard, was the pressure that he was getting from the elf. She was hostile to him for some reason, and he couldn't understand why.

After 3 more days, or 10 days in total they finally arrived at the end of the grassland. It was a new area that Kyle didn't see yet in this world. Considering that this 10 days, Kyle could have travelled in 1 day by himself, that was a good discovery. Kyle looked ahead, and the scene was completely different from what he expected.

It was a dark forest. If you were looking at it from a distance, you wouldn't be able to notice anything special about it. But once you come close, it was very different from every forest Kyle saw so far.

First, it was darker in colour, the tree's bark had a very dark maroon colour, and the leaves were dark green. Also, the trees on the outside of the forest had cobwebs that covered all of them and also had some cocoons that were moving from time to time. All of that was radiating murderous and negative aura that made Kyle feel very spooked.

' I always hated spiders, why couldn't it be some monster bunnies or lions again!' Kyle was not happy with this type of monsters.

Suddenly a human that spoke instead of an elf, in the tavern, addressed everyone, "Listen up, this is the forest of doom that every traveller have to travel through if they want to get to the Kingdom of Yorkshine. We have lost any contact with that kingdom because of this forest, and if our guild takes control of this area and establishes a trade route, we will finally advance to Level 1 guild. Fist in Rivendale!"

Suddenly a roar of happiness was heard from every member of the guild. "It will not be easy, but as long as we either kill or drive out the spider queen away from the insides of the forest, we will be able to take control of the whole forest!" Even more, roars resounded that singled that the guild was ready.

As everyone started to drop their bags and setting up camp from where they will move out, the human that gave the speech approached Kyle. "Are you on your way to the Kingdom of Yorkshine? Would you like to travel with us through?" What he implied to Kyle is that he wanted an extra pair of hands to deal with the spider that was inside.

"Sorry, but I was only going as far as the entrance to the forest. Our paths here change." Kyle didn't want to help a guild become more powerful. They weren't that friendly to him either.

"Okay, we will be here for a while. We will need to clear through the forest very slowly. If you change your mind, you know where we are."

'All of this small take only in hope for me to join them…' Kyle hated people like that. They were nice only when they can get a good deal or a benefit out of the interaction. As soon as what they wanted is acquired, they start to ignore you completely.

Kyle turned around and looked at the elf in the cape that was commanding the guild on how to set up the camp and where what should go. The elf also looked at him, and now Kyle could finally see her face. It was completely blue with purple spots of some unknown thing constantly sparkling on her cheeks. She had brown eyes that were as wide as in earth's animes. Her hair was also brown and was folded together with twigs in it. What really mesmerised Kyle that when they're gazes met, he could see that on the cheek of her face there was an emblem of a chicken leg that looked ugly and was branded with red lines marking the contour. She looked at him with a still face and then returned to ordering around.
