Chapter 54 - Learning and Struggling

"Relax, I am not here to check up on you. Could you give me a telescope? I want to check something." She grabbed the tube and started looking in the direction of the lighting forest.

There, instead of the normal forest that always been there, now were just a couple of trees on the outskirts and a huge crater with white light and magma spilling from it.

This was a new, extremely dangerous zone that not even a level 5 adventurer would get close to.

Also, on top of that, everything around got hurt and mutated. As if some terrifying power of the gods influenced that area for some reason. The only thing that stayed was that lighting would strike from the sky from time to time.

Kyle opened his eyes. His hair was now longer, and he now had a beard dropping to the ground from his chin.

'It has now been 11 months and 29 days since I arrived here. I have nearly gone mad and has finally lasted until the last day. Today I will need to push the hardest and utilise the Lighting Step of the second layer for a chance to gaze upon the third layer in the hope that it contains information on the spirit force.'

'I have stacked everything in this, let this gamble be a success.'

Kyle stood up and went into the horse stance. He rotated the lighting energy that now was lighting a yellow needle. The soul inside the lighting was now very familiar to Kyle, and it was as if another part of Kyle. The lightning energy has already perfectly fused with Kyle's soul, which allowed him to borrow as much energy as he could from it.

The needle rotated around the lighting sphere and gave all the energy that Kyle requested to him.

The lighting rushed to both of Kyle's feet, and his legs flashed with radiance. He jumped into the air and for a second stayed there, as if floating. Then with a full rotation of the body, Kyle swiped down with his leg fully covered with lighting at the book.

The speed that Kyle achieved was at the incredible level, and Kyle of the past would have never caught up to him. He was at least 10 times as fast as the ogre that was chasing him before.

The book shook for a second and later released a white light that absorbed the power that Kyle showed. It hummed, and with a flip, it opened the next page, there was the title.

This all were the results of Kyle immense work for the last year. He barely slept, and the only food and water that he had were what he could get from the qi around him. Even though it was filling, not eating or drinking anything made him nearly go mad. His teeth constantly hurt, and he even tried eating the snow that was on the floor just to be disappointed that it would disappear as soon as he put it into his mouth.

Kyle knew that this achievement didn't come from him being lucky. He had to work incredibly hard to achieve this stage and complete the full second layer through struggles in a year.

The hardest was the Wave of Conviction second layer. For the first 3 months, Kyle couldn't use the Wave of Conviction, either way, the system was telling him something about overusing his boundaries. That is why the concepts that Kyle learnt couldn't be tested straight away.

Another reason why the Wave of Conviction was not so easy for him to learn was that the book didn't have a visualisation of what it was asking him to do this time.

It asked him to not only to put 100 release points at the palm but also put at the 100 points on the back of the hand. This allowed extreme concentration, and considering that Kyle's maximum at first was 20 points, growing to 100 points was incredibly hard. One of the tricks that the book showed was separating the qi into smaller bits in the dantian and only then moving to the hand. As cultivators have the best control of their qi inside the dantian, this process was much easier than before, making sure that Kyle could complete this task in 7 months.

Right now, Kyle saw the page with the word Soul on it, and he nearly died from happiness.

This was exactly what he gabled for, and he succeeded. Kyle flipped the page, and a vision stumbled into his eyes, there a man touched the same book that Kyle had in front of him, and the man went into a deep slumber, he woke up only after a minute, and it was as if another person woke up instead. His body, his spirit and his aura was completely different. It was a person of a completely different level that was able to shatter mountains and slaughter nations.

The man later went into some battlefield where he fought against humans. Everywhere he went, everything died, and when someone even came close to him, they perished.

The man was unwavering and casually was strolling thought the battlefield, but his presence was enough to win this incredible battle.

The man walked like this for 30 minutes until reaching the last line of defence. In front of him, 5 huge demons stayed that all had incredible armour and weapons.

The man casually stopped and threw a look at them. The demons got into the position and rushed to him. He didn't panic and instead of fighting them, simply waved his hand. A white hue released from his hand that travelled like a nebula. As soon as it touched the demons, their armour ripped, and they screamed in pain. The straight away dropped to the ground and died.

The man smiled and walked closer to the bodies.
