MEETING HANA'S FATHER II

The four of them ordered their food and started eating their lunch as soon as their food arrived. Jacob was well-behave and was very polite to her father. They talked about Hana and how she was doing in café. He was very honest with his evaluation making Hana snort at him at his few negative remarks.

Adam knew that he wouldn't be able to do anything for them. He loved Hana so much, be it in the Cerulean Kingdom or in the Realm of Mortals. At the same time, even if he wanted the two of them to get together, it won't happen. The earlier they profess their love; the earlier will Hana disappear which was why he always tell her not to fall in love or at least, don't let the man she likes know that she likes him. It was due to his selfishness. He just wanted to stay longer with her because there will come a time that the Cerulean Emperor will take them back. Once that happen, they will go back to being a master-servant relationship.

In Cerulean Kingdom, he was her best and loyal servant. It was because of his love and loyalty that he jumped into the mortal world to follow her. He thought that the Cerulean Emperor will come and punish him from disrupting his plans but, he had been to different walks of life and he wasn't summoned back to the kingdom. And his memory as well as his power and skills weren't taken away from him which he was thankful for.

Adam could say that it was both a gift and a curse. He can find Hana as soon as possible and he can protect her. However, he would bring all the memories from one life to another. He would see her, time and time again, dying right in front of him.

"Bro, what are you thinking?" Hana was waving her hand in front of him to get his attention. Rudolf and Jacob were watching him, too.

"Oh, sorry. Something just came up." He lied and continued to eat.

"Don't think too much about your work. You will be staying for three months only so make most of it." Hana stated and smiled beautifully at him. "Let's go somewhere on my next day off."

"Promise?" Adam's eyes lit up from what she said. "Aren't you going to –"

"No, I am not. Don't bother asking."

"Okay." Adam just smiled faintly. He was happy that she would stop spending her day off in the café, drawing him and staring at him for one whole day.

They didn't have much time to begin with due to the small incident so their lunch was over before they could talk more. "I will leave her in your care while she's at work." Rudolf told Jacob as if he was giving his daughter to him.

"Don't worry Uncle. I will make sure that she will be fine."

"Bye Pa. Bye bro." Hana waved her hand at them before turning around to follow her boss. They parted ways as her family went home and she, with Jacob, went back to work.

"Sorry." Jacob mumbled as they walked back to the café.

"What are you apologizing for boss?"

"I...uh…I thought you were lying to me that you are going to eat with your father. These past few days, it seemed to me that you were avoiding me and that you were just making excuses. I thought I upset you during our last conversation so I wanted to eat lunch with you to talk about it."

Hana steeled her heart and just smiled at him. "I don't have reasons to avoid you. As for the last conversation we had, don't think too much about it. I am not upset over it."

"You…you won't be coming during your day off?"

"Hn. I have decided to stop sketching for a while."

"Why?"

"Uhh…no reason. I just felt like stopping it." She walked beside him while kicking stones and pebbles on the pavement. "I will, perhaps, sketch again after the outing."

As they continued to talk, they arrived back at the café and found Liam standing behind the counter with a glass of chocolate drink.

"Oh? Where did you two go?" he asked with a cheeky smile, earning him a glare from Jacob.

"It's none of your business." Jacob ignored him and went inside his office.

Liam approached Hana instead to gossip with her. "You two went to eat outside?"

"Hn."

"And?"

"What 'and'? That's all. We just ate." Hana told him as she walked back to the locker room where her colleagues were changing with their apron.

"That's weird. Doesn't he like her? He didn't say anything?" Liam mumbled to himself. He took a sip on his chocolate drink before getting inside the small office where Jacob was tying his apron on his waist. "Hey!" he knocked on the table to get his attention. "You didn't say anything to her?"

"What do you mean?" Jacob asked without an ounce care for gossip.

"I thought you like her. Shouldn't you tell her that?"

"Who said that I like her?"

"You said that I can like anyone but her!"

Liam wanted to shout at his best friend from being so dumb. He was starting to question himself as to how he became friends with a dumb and dense person.

"I didn't say those words." Jacob argued back. After making sure that he didn't forget anything, he went out of the office, leaving his friend with dubious expression.

"Okay. Okay." Liam was nodding his head with a smile on his face. "You won't admit it. Then, I'll do something for you to express your feelings. Let's wait and see."
