I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT LOVE IS

Hana was happily sitting beside him. She no longer cared about the past event. She only wanted to think about her present happiness with all the people around her. There's no point looking back in the past.

After an hour of driving, she started to feel hungry and her stomach was already grumbling. She rummaged thru her back to see if there's anything she could eat to satisfy her tummy.

Jacob handed her a transparent Tupperware and found there were sandwiches inside. "Eat. Your stomach had been rumbling since earlier."

"Are you sure, boss? You don't really have to give me some of your sandwich. I have my own food. I just need to find it." Hana tried refusing his offer. She didn't want to be shameless at this moment.

Jacob saw the box of chocolates beside her and picked one piece. "I got one chocolate from you. How about getting a sandwich from me? Once you find your food, you can share it with me too."

Hana smiled and opened the transparent box that he handed to her. She took one sandwich, one that she thought was ham and egg sandwich base on its smell. "Thank you for this boss." Hana expressed her gratitude and took a bite of the food. "It's delicious!" Her eyes widened when she finally tasted the food and chewed it.

"Of course. Did you expect me to give something unpalatable? I am a chef after all."

Hana was about to respond to him when Liam came into her view. He was crossing his arms over his chest while looking down at them.

"So, this is what you two are whispering about? While we are having a stomach ache due to hunger, you two are whispering sweetly about sandwiches." Liam snorted with a sly smile. "Hey Jake, aren't we friends? Why didn't you share with me your food?"

Jacob raised his head and looked at his best friend. "You know me. I don't give free meals. She gave me some chocolates and I gave her a sandwich. What will you give in return?"

The corner in Liam's lips raised into a snicker. "Tsk! You just don't want to share your food."

"I will share my food to my employees but not to you."

"Hey! Why is there an unfair treatment?!" Liam retorted with a pout.

"Excuse me, sir! This is not an unfair treatment. My employees help me earn every single day. It is only natural that I will treat them kindly. On the other hand, what do you give me?"

"Really?! You are seriously doing this to me?" Liam can't believe that Jacob was talking to him that way. Though, he knew that it was just a joke.

As they spoke, Hana was looking for her food. When she finally found the homemade burgers that Adam gave her, she took one and gave it to Liam. "Shut your mouth already. Because of your talkative behavior I was called a flirt. Eat and keep quiet."

Jacob looked at her when he heard her statement. "I thought you forgave me already."

"I did." Hana answered back. "But that doesn't mean I forgave your friend. Tsk!" She continued to eat her food without bothering him again. She gave the remaining burgers to her colleagues who were sitting at the back. "I don't have much food. Let's just share what we have."

"Thanks, Hana."

"You are so kind, Hana."

"Thanks for the food, Hana."

She just nodded her head and smiled at them. She noticed that Jacob was watching her eat. "Don't worry, boss. I still have a bunch of food in my bag." She whispered cheekily at him.

"Did you bring your whole kitchen with you?"

"Nope. Just half of them." Hana joked back at him. "Adam didn't want me to go hungry so he prepared a lot of stuff."

"You really are spoiled by your brother."

"I won't deny that fact. He got one pretty little sister so, who will he spoil if not me?"

"Did you ever think of the future where your brother marries someone and leave?"

Hana thought about it a lot. He even dreamed of him getting married and she told him about it multiple time, only to get her head knocked so hard for being silly. Hana smiled at this thought. "I did. I always wanted my brother to get a girlfriend but due to some reason, he didn't want to."

"It never occurred to him that he wanted to get a girlfriend and get married?"

"He told me once that he found someone that he really likes but that person loves somebody else and was happy with that man. So, my brother just gave up."

Jacob kept quiet. They were eventually talking about this subject and he really wanted to ask about her preference. It wasn't because he was expecting her to like him but, for him to at least know her type of man. He couldn't bring himself to ask the question though.

"How about you boss? Is there someone you like?" Hana asked him, hoping that there wasn't anyone.

Contrary to her expectation, Jacob didn't answer her. Instead, he leaned his head on his headrest and closed his eyes. "I don't even know what love is. How do you expect me to answer that question?"

Hana chuckled in disbelief. "Seriously? You've never fallen in love? That's just impossible."

"It is not." Jacob argued back. "Tell me what love is."

This time it was Hana's turned to be silent. 'What is love?' She turned this question over and over in her head. She stared directly in his eyes but she still couldn't explain it. "Love is a very complicated matter. I love my parents. I am happy when they are happy. I am sad when they are sad. I don't…I don't really know how to explain it."

They were seriously talking about this subject when Liam approached them again. "Don't talk to Jacob about this subject matter. He is a cold robot who never fell in love."
