The Proposition

One day before, Ninja Academy.

A man with medium built and average height was standing in the dark corner at the top of the balcony, his right eye is covered with bandages and his right arm which seems to be crippled is tied up to hold and was covered. He was staring at the ground where a boy of 5 years old was fighting with three ninjas with ease. There was a glint on the man's left eye, when looking at the boy.

He is Danzo Shimura, elder of Konoha and head of Root Organization. He is watching at the assessment of Ryuu deep eyes, seemingly plotting something. After few moments when the examiner announced Ryuu's victory, he turned and began to leave while muttering-

"Keep an eye on the boy. Find out the reason for his fast progress."

Then a voice replied -"Yes, Danzo-sama." and the surroundings became calm again.

Danzo left the academy and went straight to Hokage Office. His eye seems to be resolved.

When Danzo left the training ground, seemingly serene Hokage looked towards the dark corner where Danzo stood earlier. Releasing the smoke from his smoking pipe he thought-

'What are you planning now, old friend.'

Hokage Office.

After the assessment Hokage returned to his office to start fighting with the papers as usual, but when he entered the room he found someone sitting on the side seemingly waiting for him.

"What do I owe this pleasure, old friend." Hokage asked the person.

"I want that kid Hiruzen." The person Answered.

"Impossible, Danzo." Hokage refuted Danzo's demand right away.

"You did not allow me to take Kakashi when he graduated from academy and now you are obstructing me for Ryuu as well. Are you so adamant on being against me all the time? " Danzo raised his voice and said in dissatisfaction.

"I allowed you to take orphans with talent to serve the village, which already brought dissatisfaction among the commoner family representatives. I cannot keep giving what you want. Also, what you are asking now is clearly off-limits. Do you want to get on a fight with Sakumo? You know how much he cares for the kids. I cannot have infight when Iwa is now looking for an opportunity to take advantage of us." Hokage answered trying to reason with clearly unhappy Danzo.

Danzo stared at Hokage for some time and said with a smile on his lips,"Remember your words Hiruzen, you agreed all the orphans with talent belong to me." and left the office.

Hokage didn't give much thought to Danzo's words as he said something that he already agreed. He went back to his desk and started going through the documents and mission reports.

Back to current time,

"I have a proposition for you boys." Hokage said looking at the boys standing in front of him.

"Please say Hokage-sama." said Kakashi, answering for both of them.

"As you already know, genins who are graduated are assigned to a jounin Teacher for their further training and missions. This system is generally intoduced to help freshly graduated genins to improve themselves and server the village when they grow strong. But you two are special case. I have been assigning Kakashi to different teams in the past one and half year. Now that Ryuu also graduated Intended to do the same him and later assign him to a team where he will be joining his classmates, just like Kakashi. But I have changed my thoughts, you both are very talented and are strong enough to take down a chunin. So, I have decided to place you both in Anbu for your further training and you will be working as a team." Hokage said while smoking at looking at the boys.

Kakashi was looking at the ground and thinking of something, while his face looks conflicted, seemingly undecided to whether to accept or not.

"Hokage-sama will you pls give us a moment to discuss?" It is Ryuu who answered.

"Sure, you can discuss here, I will go out and get some fresh air, my joints are stiff sitting for a long time." Hokage said while walking towards the door.

After Hokage left, Ryuu looked around couldn't find anything out of ordinary.

'If only I have Haki, I could've spotted every Anbu who is hiding in this room.' Ryuu mused.

"So, what have you decided Aniki?" Ryuu asked Kakashi.

Kakashi still looking at the ground said,"It is a good idea to join the Anbu where we will have fast progress in our skills with the wide range of missions. And seeing that the Anbu are elites and we would be learning from them it really is a good choice. But, It is equally dangerous. I don't want to put you in danger.", saying the last sentence looking at Ryuu.

Understanding where Kakashi is coming from, Ryuu smiled and said,"I heard once father say, there is always a gain after facing danger. This situation seems similar. And you will be there with me if I face any danger to save me." trying to convince Kakashi after making up his mind.

After pondering Ryuu's words for a bit, Kakashi made up his mind.

They did not wait much longer when Hokage come through the door.

'Seems like Anbu informed him or he might be keeping an eye on us since he left the room. I need to get stronger, now i am nothing when compared to these gaints that are in the dark.'

"So did you boys come to a descision?" Hokage asked as he sat back on his chair.

"We accept your prposition Hokage-sama." Kakashi said loudly.

Hokage smiled and said,"Excellent!!"
