Chapter 63

At the same time.

---

Rose was a little worried. Her brother Cole didn't come back for dinner for a long time.

She was only 11, but she was no longer a stupid girl and always tried to be good.

She knew that her brother loved her more than life, but still did not want to be useless and deep down she was afraid that he would leave her like her parents.

As far as she can remember, she was deaf and dumb, she could not normally communicate and play with other children, only with some of the same children at school. But no one had ever loved her as much as her older brother, and she answered him in kind.

And now she cooked dinner, cleaned up and patiently waited for her brother to return, hug her and praise her.

But she was beginning to get more and more nervous, her brother did not return and the town was not calm. She was deaf and dumb, but she saw well enough, she saw from the window how people in the town were alarmed, how some neighbors ran out with tears in their eyes.

Her brother told her to never go outside unless absolutely necessary, but he had to return already, after all, almost 2 hours had passed since the beginning of all this, but he still did not return.

Rose did not want to be a naughty girl, her brother rarely broke promises, he had to return to her, she just had to wait a little longer.

But she could not wait any longer, and after a little more time, she decided to go look for her brother.

She left the house and saw one of the neighbors, Aunt Marie, who was moving towards the castle with a pale face, not noticing anything around.

Rose couldn't speak, so she just followed her.

They soon reached the slope in front of the castle.

After the catastrophe, a lot of things happened, so the girl has already managed to see various monsters. She had seen people die before.

Her brother was always there, he always protected her from monsters and evil people, while he was there she had nothing to fear.

But what she saw now scared her more than anything before.

A huge number of bodies were scattered all over the place, they were torn to pieces. Severed heads and limbs were strewn about. Blood was everywhere.

Aunt Marie was already sobbing and stumbling, at the same time passing between the corpses in search of her son.

And there were many like Aunt Marie here, with expressions of horror and despair on their faces, these people walked around the corpses.

Some found what they were looking for, but they were clearly not happy with what they found.

Rose was frightened by the whole picture, when she thought about her brother, her heart almost stopped.

But the brother almost always kept his promises, he promised that now they are safe and no one else can harm them.

Rosa believed her brother, but mechanically continued to walk between the remains of the bodies.

She suppressed her tears, fear and this suffocating pain in her chest and continued to search.

She did not know how much time had passed, people around were clearly shouting and crying, she did not know what exactly they were shouting, she stubbornly continued to search.

She did not find her brother's body, but she did see the head.

Approaching the head with timid little steps, she prayed that she would just dream about it, her brother would soon return and wake her up.

She knelt down and with shaking hands reached for the head, turning this head towards her, she saw Cole's face.

She rested Cole's head on her lap and began to wipe away the remaining blood and dirt on his face.

Her brother was everything to her, he was her world and sky.

She tried to scream, but there was a lump in her throat, even the brother's face was blurred as if in a fog, it seemed to her that she could not breathe.

As if the whole world collapsed overnight and the sky fell right on her.

Rose hugged this head and waited for this terrible dream to end, the brother would return home and wake her up.

He will praise her for the delicious food, gently pat her on the head, and again tell her that soon he will completely cure her.

She will again tell him that it doesn't matter to her as long as her brother is around and they will laugh merrily.

Rose was a good girl, her brother will definitely not leave her alone, she will patiently wait for her brother to return.
