Chapter 79

Sam walked about a kilometre, very little, but he didn't even know if there was night on the planet and how it all happened, so he decided that it was enough for the first visit.

He gathered both of the animals he had killed in a ring and went back.

Not encountering any more danger along the way, he went to the edge of the cleared field around the castle and began to light a bonfire.

He had even RPG in his spacial rings, so making bonfire was not a problem of course.

It was still daytime, the big sun was leaning towards the horizon, but the small one had disappeared from the sky.

To begin with, Sam decided to cook the meat of a large beast, he did not find water today, but he had supplies, so he gutted the beast and then cut off a piece from it.

The growths on the head of the beast were quite strong, but Sam did not know what to do with them, so he just ignored it for now. The hide was not strong enough to interest Sam, so after fiddling with it, he put it aside and began to cook the meat.

He even had dishes in the spacial rings, which he took advantage of by cutting the meat into slices.

He tried to feel the meat with spiritual intuition, which he had read about earlier, but did not notice any problems.

It was also worth starting with something to build his own hut, but obviously Sam did not see any reason to carry nails and a hammer, and he did not understand anything about the construction at all.

It would have been convenient if there were some rocks here, he would have tried to gouge a cave, but there was no such thing next to him. And to go in search of a cave in the forest on an unknown planet is a dubious idea.

Some trees were huge and theoretically it would be possible to arrange a house for oneself right in a tree, but remembering the white worm, Sam dropped this idea for now.

He tried this yellow soil in a cleared area around castle, it was very difficult to damage it. Most likely the work of an old man, so Sam believed that hardly anyone could crawl out of the ground.

Sam was thinking about checking how the others were doing, his neighbors were people from Earth, although now there was only one available. Seems like the rest have not returned yet. So he decided to have a bite first, waiting for the meat to be ready, he again tried to feel some kind of danger from him with his spiritual intuition, but everything was in order, so Sam began to eat.

The meat was not bad, at least quite edible, besides the taste it even gave a little spiritual energy.

Sam looked around, but did not notice that someone had already built something like a decent housing. People weren't all back yet, so he started doing something himself.

At first, He started looking for fairly straight wooden beams, well, or adjust them to the desired size.

Bringing them to the clearing, he took out one of the swords and began to try to poke a hole deep enough under it.

The sword was clearly damaged, but Fortunately, Sam had a lot of them, through considerable effort, he still gouged a fairly deep hole and pushed the first beam into it, having previously sharpened it, the depth was sufficient so that the beam sat quite firmly.

At the top of each beam, he left a small depression.

Repeating the same process, set another five so that the rectangle comes out. Then he began to look for smaller beams and connect them to each other both horizontally and vertically.

Having dragged some kind of elastic branches like vines, he tied the whole thing as best he could, this is the stupidest and most obvious way that he came up with, the structure was so-so but it seemed to hold on. It remains only to figure out how to close the roof and walls.

Sam had different animal skins, the same anaconda, for example, still had the remains. He closed the roof with them and partially walls, but there were no particular ideas about the walls and he went to look for something suitable in the forest.

He could not find enough rock to mold something sensible, he decided to again take up the trees.

Sam just cut some kind of flat logs out of the trees and stacked them on top of each other instead of walls.

Of course, from any impact, the structure will fall apart, at least the walls for sure, but for now that should be enough. He had no idea how to equip reliable housing, so he did not try. In addition, Sam still wanted to observe the surroundings through those holes in his walls.

The spiritual feeling was still extremely limited, only a couple of meters. A little more when meditating. Yet it was his most reliable defense now.

Sam finally decided to visit the neighbors and went to the nearest one. All the same, on this planet there are only four of them from one planet, such a density of the human population suited Sam.

He went up to a neighbor and tried to start a conversation, but he waved to Sam and walked towards the others. Sam went with him. The second man never came back so they went to the woman.

When the three of them got together, it turned out that the man managed to live to the very end of the test, and during the time spent in the node, he obviously could not learn the language properly.

In fact, all this time, the woman translated the words of the patriarch for these two. Sam could only feel sorry for them.

At least on Earth, few people did not have rings at the time, so these two had some spacial rings with them as well.

The man's name was Douglas, and the woman's name was Pamela. Sam decided to be the first to share his experience and told what he met in the forest, including a worm.

To the surprise of Sam, Douglas decided to go even further than him, he saw some rock formations, and also heard some kind of roar, and then turned back.
