At Knight International

Ava looked at the man again and said with a trembling voice, "Thank you, thank you very much."

"It's ok Miss Green. Are you hurt anywhere? Do you need me to take you to the hospital for a check-up?"

Ava's eyes widen as she looked at the man in front of her. Did he just call her Miss Green? Does she know him? The man was not very young maybe in his late 40s but he was very fit and had a lot of strength. She could tell by the way they fought that they were very skilled fighters or maybe he worked with law enforcement. Ava wondered how did she know such people? "No, I don't need to go to the hospital but do I know you? You just called me by my name." Ava's quiet voice sounded loud in the quiet alley.

The man put his hands in his pocket and said with a light smile, "We can talk about that later you need to get out of here and change those clothes first. Please come with me I'll help you out. Don't worry I won't harm you."

Ava knew it was not a wise decision to follow a man she didn't even know but for some reason, she felt comfortable and safe around him. He looked and dressed like a gentleman so he couldn't possibly be a badman, right? Maybe it was because he just saved her she developed some kind of trust toward the man already. So Ava followed him without asking any further questions.

They got out of the dark alley and the man led her to a black land rover. He opened the back door for Ava and she got in obediently. When they were seated the man started the car and said in a firm voice, "My name is Joe Smith. Everyone calls me Uncle Joe, you can also call me that, Miss Green. I am Mr. Oliver Knight's personal assistant and I will be taking you to him right now, he wants to talk to you. Are we clear, Miss Green!"

Ava still couldn't wrap her mind around what happened earlier when uncle Joe said Oliver Knight wants to talk to her she just stared at him blankly as if he was talking in a completely different language and she didn't understand a word he just said.

Uncle Joe looked through the rare view mirror and saw Ava's blank face, he said, "Miss Green I understand you are confused at the moment but please come with me, once you meet Mr. Knight, you will understand everything."

Uncle Joe was saying it as if he was asking for her permission to take her to Oliver but Ava knew he was just letting her know because who dares to refuse Oliver Knight! However, Ava really couldn't understand what Oliver knight has to do with her. They didn't know each other, hell they didn't even run into the same circle and what's more, she was out of the country for so long, how did he even know her existence? The more Ava thought the more she confused got, she could not think of any reason for the almighty CEO to send people to pick her up.

The black Land Rover stopped in front of KNIGHT International.

KNIGHT International, was a well-known company in the whole country. It was the leader of all enterprises, their business included real estate, jewelry, information technology, food chain, film and television, and many more.

Although Ava has just returned from abroad after six years, it's nearly impossible not to know about one of the leading multinational companies in the country. When she was very young, she once heard her father talking about Conner Knight, who was the founder of KNIGHT International. He was known as an Iron-blooded man in the industry back then, and everyone was afraid of him.

KNIGHT International office building was much higher than the nearby real estate. It was like the sun in the industry. Its geographical location was also in the most prominent and prosperous commercial area of the city center. In fact, It was one of the landmark buildings in the city, magnificent and 88 stories high.

Uncle Joe led Ava toward a private elevator and brought her to a private lounge where he helped her with the wound on her face and handed her a bag for a change of clothes. "Miss Green please change your clothes and you might want to fix your makeup and hair before meeting Mr. Knight. Please let me know when you are ready". Uncle Joe said politely and went out of the room closing the door behind him.
