The Fever

"What? Trying to be decent by covering yourself? You think I don't know how wild you are in bed?" Oliver smiled coldly, his tone was full of sarcasm.

His words made Ava feel even more humiliated. She couldn't keep quiet anymore, she closed her eyes and said, "Oliver, if you have the ability then kill me."

"You think I don't dare?" Oliver narrowed his eyes and asked in a challenging tone. No one ever dared to challenge him like this woman always does.

Ava remained silent. Of course, she knew he had the ability to make her disappear.

"Believe it or not Ava, I can kill you now and feed you to the sharks if I want to." Oliver's face was cold and he was indicating that she was not qualified to provoke him.

"You bastard." Ava's cursed, even though she was scared she still refused to bow down in front of this man.

"How dare you curse me, you filthy women?" Oliver suddenly started to kiss Ava aggressively everywhere leaving his marks.

While His tongue crazily tasting every bit of her body with a possessive desire, his hands were holding both of Ava's hands tightly above her head forcing her to keep still.

At first, Ava protested and even refused to kiss him back but after a while, she gave up. Who was Oliver? How could she match his strength? As Oliver's kiss got more violent Ava started to feel more and more numb.

Seeing Ava's reaction Oliver got even angrier he said sharply: "Ava, I brought you home so you can please me not to be a dead fish on the bed. If you don't want to take initiative at least learn to cooperate."

Hearing his sharp words Ava's tears ran down from the corner of her eyes, yes she was here to please this man on the bed, nothing else. She made a deal with the devil to sell her soul. She closed her eyes swallowed her pride and whispered softly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hide it from you. I just didn't think it would matter to you since it's my private business."

She apologized? Oliver looked at Ava suspiciously only to see the pain in her beautiful hazel eyes, He suddenly felt a bit of remorse in his heart. He didn't like to see the pain in her eyes, he liked her smiling. She looked so innocent and pure when she smiles.

Oliver let go of her and pulled the quilt to cover her body and said in a gentle but dominating voice "Ava, let me tell you clearly today your business is my business whether it's big or small. Since you are my woman, you are not allowed to cry for another man. Remember, if you ever dare to betray me, I will bury you with your family alive!"

Ava was feeling so tired that even when she heard Oliver's threat she didn't react much nor did she say anything. She just wanted to forget what happened tonight and sleep.

Oliver didn't like her indifferent attitude but decided to let it go as he was also feeling tired. He just returned today from abroad and also attended a party in the evening now after the fight with Ava he was also completely drained. He lay down beside her, took her in his arm, and fell asleep.

The golden sunlight brightened the sky and it was a new day, the rising sun always brings hope to people.

Oliver opened his eyes and stared at Ava. His dark eyes were full of emotion. Her sleeping face looked so peaceful. Oliver couldn't help but to touch her beautiful face however he felt it was hot, very hot, he frowned and checked her forehead and cheek again. Does she have a fever? He quickly put on his clothes and got the medicine box from the cabinet. He checked her temperature and saw that it was 39 degrees. He immediately ordered Mrs. Lee to get some wet towel.

In her sleep Ava felt she was lying in a dark place, she tried to open her eyes but her eyes felt very heavy, she couldn't even raise her head. When she tried to move she realized her hands and feet were tied up. They were tied up so tight that it was digging into her skin. She was desperately trying to break free but the more she tried the deeper the cut got. She started to cry for help but her throat seemed to be burned by fire, making a hoarse noise: "Help... Help."

Hearing Ava's cry for help, Oliver got a little flustered. He called her and tried to wake her up but she was in deep sleep. He thought she must be having a nightmare. If the temperature keeps rising she will get more confused, she needed to take some medicine.

Mrs. Lee brought the wet towel with a bowl of cold water. Oliver took it and started to wipe Ava's face and body with the water, she shivered but he still continued to wipe, it will help the temperature to go down a little. He changed the cloth and put a wet towel on her forehead.

Ava started to shout again, "I'm afraid, help me, mom dad where are you?"

Oliver didn't know what she was dreaming about but at the moment, he sat close to her and looked at her with affection and worry in his eyes.

As if feeling Oliver's presence Ava started to shout again "Ah! Oliver, Mr. Knight, please let me go I beg you, please don't come near me."

Oliver heard clearly what she had said, he felt very upset. Was she afraid of him in her dream? Why was she running from him and begging for him to stay away? Only then he realized he must have scared her last night. He really regretted what he did and the way he lost his temper last night. He shouldn't have treated her like that.

He took out his phone and made a call to his family doctor Lao Chen.

Before Dr. Chen arrived Oliver helped Ava to dress up in her pajama. She was still unconscious and babbling from time to time.

"It's nothing serious, the way she is talking in her sleep looks like she had been traumatized over something, that's why she has a high fever. I'll give her an injection for her fever to go down and also will give her an infusion which will keep her hydrated until she wakes up. If she takes a good rest she will be alright in a day or two." Dr. Chen said after checking Ava.

"Ok, Thank you, Dr. Chen," Oliver said quietly. He was standing silently at the side the whole time Dr. Chen was checking her, his heart was feeling very heavy. He shouldn't have been so cruel to her last night, he shouldn't have forced her like that she was a woman after all. He regrets it now, he regrets it very much.
