An Unjustified Relationship

Oliver hesitated then asked in a soft voice, "How did you get it?"

"I had a chest operation," Ava said lowering her eyes and smiling sadly, she didn't want to talk about the accident so she said half-truth of the story.

Seeing her sadness, Oliver didn't want to force her to talk about the accident, he knew anyway how she got the scar. Suddenly he had an urge to hug her.

"Ava, I will never let you get hurt again." Oliver looked into Ava's eyes and said sincerely. There was a rare emotion in his deep dark eyes as if he was making a promise to himself.

Ava was moved by his words and she believed him, at least at that moment she believed him.

The atmosphere in the bathroom completely changed. Oliver helped Ava to take a bath but didn't really talk much. After the bath, Oliver even helped Ava to dry her body.

Ava was overwhelmed at his sudden care and tenderness. Since she woke up from her fever she felt Oliver has been really nice to her. The whole evening she felt very warm in her heart.

Oliver took Ava to sit in front of the dresser so he could dry her hair. His own hair was dripping water but he didn't care about that instead his full attention was on Ava. He took her long and straight hair in his hand gently. He looked like a gentle and considerate husband at that moment.

Ava was looking at him from the mirror but the moment he took out the hairdryer a similar scene flashed into her mind. The first time she came into this villa she had seen the same scene Oliver standing in front of the dresser drying another women's hair. Her mood suddenly got complicated. She didn't know why it was bothering her, it's not like she was in love with him. Still thinking of Oliver treating her the same way he treated other women made Ava uncomfortable.

"I'll do it." Ava tried to take the dryer from Oliver's hand.

"Don't move," Oliver said squinting his eyes.

"Oliver, I'm not a child, I can do it myself." Ava was angry now. Even though she made a deal with him, she still wouldn't give up her dignity, she was not that kind of woman.

"What's wrong with you?" Oliver felt the change in Ava's mood, he was confused just now everything was fine, why did she get angry all of a sudden?

"It's nothing. Your hair is wet you should dry them first or else you will catch a cold." Ava said calmly but she was upset.

"My immunity is not as bad as yours." Oliver tried to put Ava back to the chair, he was worried she will catch a cold if she didn't dry her hair soon but this woman seemed to be in a mood to make things difficult for him.

"I'm not that bad either?" Ava tried to argue back.

"Come on Ava stop talking nonsense and sit quietly, will you?" Oliver was now losing his patience, he pushed her and made her sit.

"I don't want you to do it," Ava said looking at Oliver in the eye from the mirror.

"Why?" Oliver frowned. What was wrong with this woman, why was she acting weird all of a sudden over, drying hair?

Ava looked down and said quietly, "You helped that woman blow dry her hair the other day, I don't want you to treat me the same way."

Oliver was stunned for a moment, but the next second, he said with a flirty smile: "Are you jealous?" So this was the reason she got upset, he felt good thinking she was jealous.

"No, but I am not like other women." Ava's voice was very low.

'This woman was really a proud one, wasn't she? She wouldn't admit that she was actually jealous. No problem Ava, you will say it eventually I will make you.'

"Ava don't forget who you are. Yes! You are my woman, but not the only one. Some things are not in your hands, you know." Oliver said proudly and didn't forget to crush her pride.

But that night, he didn't plan it. Kiara came back from her long holiday and was looking for him. She has been chasing him for a while now and Oliver only put up with her for two reasons, one was because their families were close friends and second he had an interest in Anderson's bank. Although he didn't bring Kiara here before but she knew about this place, when she couldn't find him anywhere she came here. They were catching up with each other and Kiara accidentally spilled wine on her dress and that's how she ended up taking shower in the guest bathroom. It was all a coincidence.

Hearing him all the warm feeling Ava had the whole evening was completely gone. He was right, what was she thinking, how she keeps forgetting her identity? She was just a toy for him and after a month this torture will be over and she will go back to her life. May be start dating and finally find her true love. All she needed to do was now to make sure not to develop any feelings for him, no she could not fall in love with him. Loving him will only destroy her. She sat there quietly letting the man dry her wet hair, she didn't say another word to him.

Ava slept all day so she was not sleepy at all, but she didn't want to talk to Oliver so she pretended to be asleep. When the night was deep and Oliver's slow breathing came to her ear, for the first time in all this time, Ava finally felt Oliver's presence. Every night before she went to bed, the last person she saw was him and every morning when she woke up, the first person in front of her was also him. But their relationship was not like a normal couple. In fact, she didn't even know what kind of relationship they were in and how to justify the relation she had with him. It was like two people who didn't even like each other were just sleeping together no string attached. But was it really like this?
