Ava's troubled heart

Oliver walked inside the ward and saw Ava was awake, but the moment she saw him coming in, she closed her eyes. Oliver felt bitter in his heart, does she hate him so much now that she didn't even want to look at him?

Oliver sat down slowly in the chair beside her bed. He needed to clear things out with her. "Ava, you silly women why did you do that?" Oliver's voice was very gentle.

Ava didn't reply.

He suddenly reached out and held her injured hand, he said softly, "Did you really think that I would let you get hurt? You made me so angry I just wanted to punish you by scaring you, how could you think that I would let them humiliate you like that? In your eyes what kind of person I am?" The guilt and sadness were clear in his tender voice.

If only she trusted him this would never happen, then again if he could believe her words then this wouldn't happen either. Thinking that Oliver sighed softly.

Ava still kept her eyes closed but she was confused hearing him. She didn't know what to think and what to say. After what he did tonight she didn't know which of his words to believe. Her mind suddenly was a mess. If what he said just now was true then what he said earlier tonight was that all lies? Did he really do all that to scare her? The more she thought the more confused she got.

Seeing Ava still didn't want to talk to him Oliver asked in a light voice "Ava! Do you hate me?"

Ava opened her eyes and looked at him but her eyes were blank. Hate him? Did she really hate him? She should, shouldn't she but she didn't know why she just couldn't hate him, even after being so cruel to her, torture her and keep hurting her with his sharp words she still couldn't hate the man in front of her.

Ava suddenly wanted to laugh at herself. The only thing she didn't want out of this agreement with Oliver was to fall in love with him but she did. She even didn't know herself when she fell for him. But she couldn't believe his words. He was a pure devil. If she believed him then he will hurt her again. They were from different worlds they were never meant to meet each other, so she will have to let him go. Ava suddenly became very resolute.

"Mr. Knight, I am an ordinary woman, my whole life I lived a simple life and I don't understand your complicated words. If what you said is true and you really don't want to hurt me then could you please promise me that you will let me go after the end of our agreement?" Ava said looking at him with clear eyes.

Ava's voice was very low but in the quiet room, Oliver felt her words were like sharp screams deafening him. He stared at her for a while then nodded his head dejectedly. This time he had hurt her too much. He must make up for this mistake, he must change her mind. He still had 7 days and he will make her stay with him willingly. There was a determination in his dark eyes.

"I Promise. Now go to sleep, you have lost a lot of blood, you need to rest." Oliver said gently.

Saying that Oliver got up from the chair, walked to the door, and locked it. Ava looked at him puzzled thinking what was he doing?

"Why did you lock the door," Ava asked uncertainly.

Oliver smiled at her charmingly and said "I need to punish you for what you did tonight don't you think?"

"What? Now? Here...at the hospital? Are you crazy? I am still injured." Ava panicked and looked at him like a frightened rabbit.

Oliver suddenly laughed out loud "You silly women, I am not that inhuman, but I still want to hug you to sleep. Saying that he lay down on the bed and took Ava in his arm. He sighed softly and kissed her hair before falling into sleep.

"Ava stared at the man for a while, she was once again overwhelmed by his gentle behavior and she couldn't help but think of what he told her earlier. For a moment she thought how beautiful it would be if he was always like that? When he cared for her, looked after her like that she didn't want to let go of him. Ava's heart was very conflicted.

The next morning it was a bright new warm day. When Ava woke up, Oliver was already up and ready to leave. Oliver's back was toward Ava. He seemed to be staring outside the window and lost in deep thoughts. He didn't notice that Ava was awake.

Ava looked at his back, he looked really lonely. She didn't know why she always had a feeling that there was a reason behind his coldness. As if something had happened to him in the past that made him this cold and indifferent. The way his mood switches all of a sudden, some time Ava felt that she reminded him of someone and that's when he becomes cold to her without any warning. She wanted to ask him several times but she was also afraid that she wouldn't like his answers.

The sun sprinkled on Oliver's shoulder, and he slightly moved. His every action seemed to be captured by the camera and presented in front of Ava. It was a beautiful sight.

Ava was still in a daze when Oliver turned around, with a faint smile on his handsome face he said, "You woke up early today."

Ava blinked, she replied embarrassingly, "Yes, I can't sleep well in the hospital."

"You need to take some rest, I've already talked to your Dean and asked for leave," Oliver said lightly.

"But I don't want to stay at the hospital," Ava said innocently.

Ava worked at the hospital, so obviously if she needed to rest she would do that anywhere but a hospital. The hospital will make her even more sick besides it's boring here.
