The Threat

Ava was not a hypocrite, she knew it was normal to fall in love with someone and then break up if things didn't work out. In this era, almost everyone faces these at some point in their life. What, Ava was afraid that if Oliver was still in love with his ex-girlfriend then he might also want to get back with her someday and if something like that happens in the future, then it would be difficult for Ava to pick up the pieces since she was in love with him. If he was just using her to get rid of his loneliness then Ava would like him to be rather indifferent to her.

"Could you tell me more about his ex-girlfriend?" Ava wanted to know why they broke up and understand the situation so she asked curiously.

"I don't know, I never met her, but Av's let me warn you, don't ever mention Oliver's ex-girlfriend in front of him. His ex-girlfriend was his first love. It's a knot in his heart that no one was allowed to talk about." Erika didn't know whether Ava and Oliver will end up together or not but she felt some things should be left in the past. If Oliver decided to tell her one day he will do it himself. She could not tell Ava anything about his past.

"OK." Although Ava was confused but she didn't ask anything else to Erika.

On the other side,

On a sofa around the corner, Oliver and Arvin were sitting and talking.

"Oliver some friend you are. Who was the woman you brought tonight? She seems quite a beauty." Arvin said in a tone of complaint.

He was trying to understand Oliver's mind. They have known each other for so long, he knew if Oliver was not interested in the women he wouldn't bring her here tonight.

"Yes, she is. Do you want her?" Oliver looked at the distance. From where he was sitting he could see Ava clearly but Ava couldn't see him.

"No, no, thank you, I don't think I could afford it." Arvin knew Oliver was joking. Of course, they would never be interested in the same girl. They made a pact when they were in high school.

"Then what do you want?" Oliver drank the red wine slowly and enjoyed the mellow flavor in his mouth.

"I'm interested to know why the change of taste all of a sudden?" Arvin said jokingly with a playful smile.

Although Oliver never dated officially after the accident but he thought Oliver was interested in the kind of woman with heavy make-up and a charming look. The woman he brought tonight seems like a very simple and quiet type. He suddenly realized his ex-girlfriend was the same type. So it turns out his taste never changed, he was just waiting for the right person.

"Well, I am tired of them," Oliver said lazily, he knew what Arvin meant.

"Are you in love with her?" Arvin laughed but asked seriously. He hasn't seen Oliver like this for a long time. He felt very happy for his friend, maybe this time he would be able to put down his past and finally move on.

"Will it be strange if I am?" Oliver's eyes became deep as Ava's beautiful smile appeared in his mind, He felt very happy.

"Nope! but tell me how and when did it happen?" Arvin was full of gossip.

Oliver turned to look at him with a sly smile on his lips he said "You want to know, then I will have to charge you. One million a minute and ten million in advance."

"No thank you, I don't want to know." Arvin smiled helplessly. Who would dare to do business with this cunning man, he will rob him.

Ava had a few drinks tonight, she excused herself to go to the lady's room. When she came out, she was suddenly dragged to a corner at the end of the corridor by someone. Ava tried to shout but the man held her mouth tightly.

"Miss Green, please don't shout. It's me, Ethan." Ethan let go of Ava's mouth and said apologetically.

"What the hell Mr. Smith, what kind of behavior was that?" Ava said angrily. At first, she could not recognize Ethan but when her mind became clear she remembered her blind date.

"Shouldn't you explain to me about what happened last time on our date?" Ethan chuckled and looked at Ava's shimmering eyes. Through the mask, her eyes were looking even more beautiful and appealing. For a second Ethan was lost in them.

"Well, isn't it obvious, I don't like you. In fact, I would never agree to go on the blind date, if my mother didn't promise it in the first place. To save my mother's face I went to the date but I had no desire to take it any further so I left. What was there to explain??" Although Ava's words were a bit harsh, but she felt he deserved an explanation so she explained it to him clearly.

Hearing the impatience in Ava's voice Ethan nodded with a smile: "Well, what you said is reasonable, but I would also like to share my thoughts with you. The moment I saw your photo, I was already interested in you and after I met you, I started to like you. So I won't give up chasing you that easily."

Ava was stunned for a second hearing him, She glared at Ethan and said, "Mr. Smith don't you have any self-respect. I've already made it clear that I am not interested in you, so what's the point of this chase?"

"Well, your family liked me and that's why they fixed the date, so what's wrong with me chasing you. Besides I wonder if your parents know who their daughter is dating currently. Do you think they will be happy to know?" Ethan smiled meaningfully.

Ava frowned "What do you mean?"

"I have a meeting with CEO Green this week, I think he would be thrilled to know that his daughter is dating the renowned playboy, Mr. Oliver Knight." Ethan was still smiling.

Looking at his calm smile Ava became ferocious, Ava hated it when someone threatens her "Then please go ahead and inform him."

"Miss Green you are a smart woman, why are you doing this? Aren't you afraid?" Ethan shook his head innocently, he felt he was wronged by her.

Ava thought of Oliver and her voice became extremely firm and cold when she said, "No, I'm not afraid. Do what you want to do."

Saying that Ava walked away, Ethan kept looking at her back and thought she was really stubborn.
