Although Oliver didn't love Kiara but Oliver's parents and grandparents always liked Kiara, especially his grandparents, who have always regarded her as their future granddaughter-in-law. So no matter how much they fought with each other, their relationship will never be truly broken. It was bound by the family and that's why Kiara was so confident and kept chasing after Oliver even though he said many times that he didn't feel the same way about her.
"Oliver, are you finished? It's already half-past four." Kiara gently closed the magazine in her hand and stood up. She had been lying on the sofa all afternoon. Although she was tired but she didn't mind as long as she could be close to Oliver. Love was really a strange thing, in a moment it could either make people depress or make someone's heart filled with joy.
"OK, give me a minute." Oliver raised his head and smiled at Kiara then he picked up his phone and sent a text to Ava saying he will be working late at the company and will not be home for dinner.
Ava just got off work when she received Oliver's message, she felt a bit lost. They have been living together for so long and this was the first time he was working late. In the morning, Oliver dropped Ava at the hospital so she didn't have her car with her. Ava hailed a taxi and head home.
"Oliver, let's go to the supermarket first. I have to buy some fresh vegetables." Kiara said while she got out of the office room.
"OK." Oliver like a gentleman, held out his hand for Kiara to hold it.
Of course, Kiara wouldn't let go of such an opportunity. She found out today that as long as she kept a distance from Oliver, he would take the initiative to get close to her. Kiara thought she found a great formula to finally make a way to Oliver's heart. She couldn't be too obvious and not too eager. She just has to let him take charge.
Sophia has been busy all afternoon, as she was the head Secretary, she had many things to sort out. It was not until she saw Kiara come out of Oliver's office that she remembered that the woman was here. She was a bit surprised to see that Kiara had spent the whole afternoon at the CEO's office. She was wondering if they were back together?
In the underground parking lot, Oliver and Kiara were walking toward Oliver's car when they met Uncle Joe.
Uncle Joe came to Oliver's office this afternoon, but Sophia stopped him saying Oliver had asked to not let anyone in. This was the first time Uncle Joe was stopped by Sophia and she didn't say why, but now seeing Kiara, Uncle Joe understood everything. The master was making things complicated for himself again. Trying to put two legs in two boats he was bound to fall in the water.
"Good afternoon CEO Knight, Miss Anderson." Uncle Joe's politely greeted them.
"Good afternoon Uncle Joe," Kiara said with a smile.
Oliver turned his head and said lightly, "Uncle Joe."
Uncle Joe nodded his head but didn't say anything. Oliver instantly understood he had something to say to him. Oliver released Kiara's hand and handed her the car key then said, "You go ahead and sit in the car, I'll be right there."
Kiara nodded obediently and took the key to Oliver's Aston Martin.
Uncle Joe and Oliver walked away a few meters and stood in a very quiet corner. This was Knight Family's private parking space so no one would dare to come here.
"Mr. Knight and Miss Green had a fight again?" Uncle Joe said with a smug smile.
"No." Oliver's face was covered in a haze. When Uncle Joe mentioned Ava, he got a little upset.
"No! Look at you, your face changed the moment I mentioned her." Uncle Joe continued to tease, he knew that Oliver wouldn't lose his temper on him, they always get along like this.
"What do you want?" Oliver was too lazy to talk to him about Ava, even though that's all he could think about right now.
"What do you want to do with Amelia Taylor?" Uncle Joe became serious.
"Where is she now?"
"Psychiatric ward, Mental hospital."
"Keep her there." Oliver smiled coldly and his face became gloomy.
"OK." Uncle Joe said without expression.
This was Oliver's usual way of handling things. Anyone who dared to provoke him will have to stay in a mental hospital for the rest of their life. If someone stayed in a place like that for a long time, even if they were not really mentally ill, they will eventually develop illness and become insane. To Oliver the mental torture was far more profound than any physical pain so he would keep his enemies alive and torture them for life, he was that brutal.
"What about her assistant?" Oliver asked looking at a distance.
"More than a billion dollars of cash from her bank card has been withdrawn recently."
"More than one billion, she had really made a lot of money all these years." Oliver sneered.
"Are you going home tonight?" Uncle Joe asked giving him a sidelong glance. He needed to know where Oliver would be in case of any emergency.
"Depends on my mood," Oliver said coldly and didn't give any definite answer.
Uncle Joe didn't say anything, he just gave him a faint smile and said," Have a good evening."
Oliver turned and walked toward his car.
Kiara has been sitting in the car for a while, she was bored so she looked around the car. The interior of Oliver's car was very simple, he didn't use any accessories inside the car but there was a peace token hanging on the rearview mirror. Kiara was confused to see it, she knew well that Oliver was not a superstitious person. He never believed in such things, then why would he hang a talisman in his car?
Kiara looked carefully and saw there was a name written in big letters, 'Symbol of peace: Ava Green'. Seeing Ava's name Kiara's eyes instantly turned cold and there seem to be a storm in them. So it was Ava who hung it in here. She wanted to tear it from the mirror and throw it into a garbage bin, but she couldn't do that. No matter how angry she was, she had to control her temper. She and Oliver have just started to mend their relationship, she could not ruin everything by showing her temper over this silly woman and her peace token. So Kiara swallowed her anger and when she saw Oliver was coming toward the car she instantly changed her mood and put on a beautiful smile on her gentle face.
