Ava and Mrs. Lee chatted for a while, and she didn't hang up until she reached their community. Ava wanted to go directly home but suddenly remembered Sarah was there so she decided to drop by the community supermarket to buy some snacks for Sarah. The supermarket was almost empty so Ava quickly picked up some snacks and head toward home.
Ava rang the doorbell and Sarah opened the door lazily, she was wearing her favorite pink pajamas and her hair was loose on her back. Seeing Ava at the door she almost jump up and down and shouted excitedly before throwing herself into Ava's arm.
"Aunt Lily, look who is here, it's Ava," Sarah shouted happily as they came to the living room.
Lily was cooking in the kitchen. She heard her daughter was here she quickly left everything and came out of the kitchen happily.
"Ava, how are you, sweetie? How did you think of coming home today?" Lily looked at Ava lovingly then looked around to see if Oliver was there.
"Oliver went on a business trip to America, so I thought I would stay some days with you people." Ava saw her mother was looking around confusedly, she explained with a smile.
"That's great. I'll go and finish my cooking quickly." Lily was a little surprised but she didn't ask anything else, Ava.
James's study door was open, so he heard Sarah's exciting voice. He put down his books and came out to have a look. Seeing Ava he was also very happy. Ava was not married, yet he had the feeling of his married daughter coming home for a visit.
"Ava, sweetheart you are home." James smiled and took his daughter in his arm.
"How are you, dad?" Ava pulled James and sat on the couch.
"Very good."
"That's good."
The family spent their dinner in a harmonious atmosphere. After dinner, they all watched TV together.
"How are you and Oliver doing recently, Ava?" Lily asked casually, but she was very eager to know.
Lily was actually very concerned about Ava's marriage. She and Oliver were living together and if things were not right between them then it's better to end it earlier.
"We're fine." Ava stretched her neck and arm, she felt really tired.
"Is he treating you well?" In fact, Lily still was not comfortable about Ava being with Oliver, she didn't know why but she always felt like if her daughter stayed with Oliver she will suffer.
Ava's eyes brightened and she said with a relaxed smile, "Yes mom, he is very good to me."
"Wow, sis, this dress is a new edition from Balenciaga." The other day Sarah saw the dress in fashion express on the microblog, seeing Ava in it she felt it looked very familiar so she brushed her microblog and saw she was right it was from the new autumn collection.
"I don't know," Ava said innocently, she only knew that every dress Oliver bought for her was from some famous brand. As for which collection they were from Ava didn't know and didn't care.
"Oh my God! This dress costs 40000 dollars." Sarah looked at the price wide eyes as her jaw fell on the ground.
Lily silently listened to Sarah. They were not crazy rich like the Knight family but the Green family was always generous about spending money for their daughter. Ava almost always wore clothes from famous brands from childhood, but those were not this expensive. In the past, Ava wore clothes worth thousands, but now her clothes worth tens of thousands. Lily didn't know whether to be happy or sad about it.
"Really? It's that expensive?" Ava asked surprised.
"Yes...yes, it's that expensive. Aunt Lily, you don't have to worry about how Brother Oliver treats Ava, you see he brought such an expensive dress for Ava, it's so obvious how much he loves her." Sarah's eyes were full of envy when she looked at Ava. Her beautiful sister finally found her happiness.
"Ava sweetie, Oliver works hard to earn money, don't let him spend it on such expensive dresses," Lily said with a heavy heart. The more generously Oliver treated Ava, the more she felt the gap between their status.
"Auntie, why are you so worried, I don't think my brother-in-law is that stingy to care about it," Sarah said with a pout.
Sarah didn't understand Lily's concern but Ava did so she said in understanding, "Well mom, don't worry, I'll talk to him about it when he gets back."
After spending the whole evening with her family Ava felt very tired so she went back to her room. Ava was lying in her bed when she received a video call from Oliver. Ava calculated the time and realized he should still be on the plane at this moment. She answers the call quickly.
In the video, Oliver was seated on a leather sofa, his legs were folded and he looked handsome as always. It's been a few hours since Ava didn't see him she was already missing him terribly. She wondered if he was missing her as well.
"Hi." Ava sat up on the bed and adjusted her phone angle so Oliver could see her well.
"What are you doing, little fool? You look good." Oliver saw the unfamiliar background behind Ava through the video call and knew that she was at Green villa. He felt relieved.
Their tone was so loving and caring as if the two didn't have any serious fight this afternoon. Today, Oliver regretted fighting with her very much. The moment he drove away, he hated himself. When he came back for her he made a promise to himself that he would never leave her again in this life. It was his commitment to her. Indeed love was the most complex emotion in this world.
"Really?" Ava laughed sweetly. Hearing Oliver's compliment she felt sweeter than honey.
From across the screen, Ava looked at his handsome face and wished he was by her side at that moment. He would be if they didn't have that stupid fight this afternoon. It was a small thing and wasn't even worth fighting for yet both of them got excited and almost broke up with each other.
"Av's, baby I'm sorry about this afternoon. I got a little excited and said things I didn't ready mean." Oliver said sincerely as his dark eyes looked at Ava with guilt in them.
"Oliver, I am sorry too, I shouldn't have hide about Jacob's matter from you but believe me I don't have any feeling for him. I only love you." Ava lowered her eyes and said guiltily she also realized her mistake.
"I believe you, baby, don't worry about it, let's just put everything behind and never talk about it again. Ok!" Oliver said softly to her but in his mind, he decided when he got back he will clean up this Samuel Evan.
"You look tired, go and take some rest." Although they were far away from each other but Ava still could see the tiredness in his face through the phone.
"I am fine, let's talk a little longer." Oliver's tone had a little pleading. He didn't want to let go of the phone, he wanted to keep seeing her beautiful face.
"OK," Ava said helplessly but she was also reluctant to let go.
"Sis, who are you talking to?" Sarah came into the room with two cups of hot milk in her hand.
"Your brother Oliver," Ava said with a smile.
Sarah put the milk on the bedside table, then jumped on the bed and smiled at Oliver, "Hello, brother-in-law."
Hearing Sarah call him brother-in-law Oliver felt overjoyed, he smiled at her and said sweetly, "Hello Sarah, how are you doing?"
"Oliver, you are far away from home you need to take good care of yourself there. Eat properly and get enough rest, don't just keep yourself busy with work." Ava said worriedly and her tender eyes showed the love for him.
"You, too. And you are not allowed to run out in this hot weather. Stay at home, and rest."
"OK, I'll listen to you."
Ava talked with Oliver for another ten minutes, then hung up saying goodbye.
