Giving hints

Mia could only sigh in her heart thinking if only she had the same kind of family background and the same upbringing then today she wouldn't have to lower her head in shame. It's not that she wanted to be rich, she just wanted her parents to be healthy.

"It's not some big high-end western restaurant, but I promise you will like their food. Their every dish is authentic and they use some kind of special seasoning that makes the food even tastier." Ava explained to Mia as she sat down.

"Ava, I envy you very much, you grew up like a princess," Mia said with a smile.

"Mia, why do you think that?" Ava's eyes looked at Mia warmly but her lips were slightly pursed.

"Look at you, you are so beautiful and your family background is dignified. You have a strong working ability and such a good heart. I don't see any shortcomings in you." Mia praised Ava and said everything from the bottom of her heart.

Ava smiled at Mia, but that smile didn't reach her eyes. She said with a calm face, "It's not necessarily true Mia, you can only see the things from outside if you get to live my life you would know things are actually different."

"Why? What kind of difficulties you have?" Mia frowned.

In her eyes, Ava's life was just perfect, although her previous relationship didn't work but now she looks happy with Mr. Knight. So everything seems to work out for her. Then what difficulty she could possibly have?

"Mia, everyone's life has ups and downs. It's not that I don't have difficulties it's just I am very good at hiding my problems from others. I am sure you do the same." Ava said with a wry smile.

No matter how many friends she makes, no one could understand her like her best friend did. She really missed her. When she was around if Ava's mind was in trouble for even some small reason she would be able to detect it immediately. With one look they could tell what was wrong with the other. Where would she find a friend like her again?

Mia felt very uncomfortable hearing Ava. The guilt of betraying Ava was eating her from inside. To hide her anxiety Mia laughed awkwardly and said, "No matter how many problems we have, we can only face them."

"Mia, if you have any difficulties in your life, you can always come to me. I can try to help you, even if I can't help you we can at least talk things over and find a solution ourselves, you know? I understand your family has been struggling financially but I want you to know that you can always count on me. I will help you as long as I am able to. We are friends so don't hide your troubles from me. Ok!" Ava reached out and held Mia's palm.

Ava didn't want to question her directly about Kiara, that will make her embarrassed and guilty about what she had done. She even might decide to quit her job out of shame, that will only ruin her future. Ava believed wholeheartedly that Mia was a good girl, she must have a reason for what she did. Everyone makes mistakes, didn't she and Oliver fight over their mistakes all the time? But in the end, they sort things out and forgive each other. Ava also hoped she and Mia could sort things out. Ava didn't want to lose her friend, as long as Mia would give her a reasonable explanation and turn back, she was willing to forgive her.

"Ava, why do you say that all of a sudden?" Mia's face turned pale and she clenched her palm.

Did Ava found out about what she had done? How is that possible? Only Kiara and she knew about it and Kiara would never tell anyone because then she will lose her Intel and Mia didn't tell anyone about it so Ava cannot know about it. After torturing herself with a series of questions in her mind, Mia calmed herself down thinking Ava didn't know anything she must be telling these things just as a friend. However, her words were making things worse for Mia. Fortunately, she didn't cause any serious trouble between Ava and Mr. Knight, she can't do this. She really regrets doing what she did. Ava is always so good to her and treated her like a sister. How did she harm her like that?

"Didn't you just say you have many problems? I just want you to remember that you always have me if you need me."

"Thank you, Ava, I'll remember that. It's a blessing to have such a good friend like you in my life." Mia's eyes were glistering.

The atmosphere in the box got a bit strange when the waiter came in with their food. And Ava said with a smile, "Let's eat."

The warmth of Ava's eyes opened Mia's eyes and she knew at that moment what she needed to do. She must return Kiara's money and inform her that she wouldn't be able to help her anymore.

"OK." After making the decision Mia's felt very light as if a weight had been lifted from her chest and a brilliant smile showed up on her innocent face.

Ava exclaimed, "It's delicious! I don't even remember when was the last time I had it, it still tasted the same."

"Yes, it's really delicious."

"Even though it's not a big restaurant, but all their customers are constant and loyal. They will always return here to show their loyalty, which is very important, don't you think, Mia?" Ava didn't want to say anything else, all night she has been giving Mia all kinds of hints, so she realizes her mistake. Ava just prayed in her heart that Mia will understand what she was trying to tell her.

Mia's hand holding chopsticks froze, she couldn't raise her eyes and look at Ava when she said in a low voice, "Yes, loyalty is very important."

Suddenly Mia felt very suffocating, her heart already knew that Ava knew something.

They didn't talk much rest of the dinner, the atmosphere was a bit awkward but none of them had the mind to break it. After dinner, Ava drove Mia back to her community and returned to Green Villa.
