Oliver's Villa.
Just like every day, Mrs. Lee has prepared a large table full of different kinds of dishes. Today's menu was Western, which was strongly recommended by Arvin. He said he was too tired of eating the traditional foods. So for the change of taste, he wanted to have Western food tonight.
However, Arvin had no idea that Oliver and Ava would come back home late. He has been staring at the steak in front of him for half an hour. Those two still haven't come home and the hot steak already turned cold now. For a moment he wanted to eat without waiting for them anymore but thinking of his best friend he resisted the urge.
Mrs. Lee was standing there quietly, she saw that Arvin picking up the knife and fork and then drop it again, it looked so funny she wanted to laugh.
She smiled kindly and said, "Mr. O'Neil, if you want to eat, just eat. You don't need to wait for Mr. Knight. It's Monday and Miss Green always has meetings on this day so they usually come home late."
"No, it's boring to eat alone. I'll wait for them." Arvin shook his head decisively and refused to eat.
At that moment, Oliver and Ava came back. Ava was wearing a high boot, holding the chicken bucket in her hand she was having a hard time taking off her boot. Oliver saw that he squatted down and helped Ava to take off the boot. At first, Ava hesitated then she let him do it. She still couldn't believe, how much Oliver has changed after all this time.
They came straightway to the dining room. Ava put down the KFC family bucket on the dining table and quickly went to the bathroom to wash her hands. She was so hungry that she felt like, she could swallow a whole cow at this moment.
Oliver also followed Ava to wash his hands. Oliver would never eat without washing his hand no matter where he was. He was used to that habit and he was making Ava used to with that too.
At the dining table, Arvin saw the fried chicken and he got very excited. Just like Ava, Arvin also liked to eat fast food very much since he was a child, so Ava and Arvin ate with delight in the dining room. While Oliver looked at them disdainfully and shook his head helplessly. He was too tired of talking about healthy eating to them. Oliver sat there gracefully and ate the food Mrs. Lee has prepared.
After dinner, Oliver went to the corner of the room to answer his phone. Ava and Arvin were sitting in the living room watching TV. Arvin suddenly felt someone's eyes were on him, he turned his head and saw that he was right and Ava was staring at him. At first, he decided to ignore it but he felt very uncomfortable being stared at by her like that, so he turned to sit face to face with Ava and said, "Ava, if you have something to say to me, just say it. Don't stare at me like that, you are giving me goosebumps all over."
"What kind of present Oliver likes?" Ava turned to look at Oliver and saw he was a fair distance away so she asked reassuringly.
Arvin looked at Ava and said with a sly smile, "He should like you."
Ava stared at him speechless. Why was both of their answer the same? Indeed they were best friends.
"Will you please stop joking? I am serious."
"I'm not joking. What I said is true. I can give you some suggestions to make Oliver happy." Arvin said with an evil smile on his face.
Ava creased her eyebrows and looked at him suspiciously then asked, "What kind of suggestions?"
"Like you can wear some sexy nighty or some slutty dress and try to seduce him. I promise Oliver will love it." Arvin said, holding back his laughter and trying to pretend to be serious.
Ava looked at him with wide eyes then she got really angry, she clenched her fist as if ready to beat him up. Then said through gritted teeth, "Arvin, you are shameless!"
Arvin couldn't hold back his laughter anymore he laughed loudly and it echoed through the whole room. It was a pleasure to see Ava's red face.
Oliver, who was on the phone, heard Arvin's obscene laughter. He immediately turned his head and saw Ava's angry face. He quickly hung up the phone and went to them. He sat down and took Ava in his arm then looked at Arvin and asked coldly, "Arvin, what did you do to make Ava so angry?"
"I didn't do anything. If you don't believe me ask her." Arvin said still laughing. He knew Ava would never say that to Oliver, so he cleverly pushed the topic to Ava.
As soon as Oliver held her in his arm, Ava relaxed. She looked at him and said with a smile: "it's nothing Oliver. We were just talking about our food preferences."
Oliver obviously didn't believe her but he didn't ask anything further. Here one was his best friend he grew up with and the other was the love of his life so he trusted both of them. If they are saying it's nothing then it's not important.
