Lilly's unusual behaviour

Lilly felt very uncomfortable because of the mention of Melody's parents. Although she still believed what she had done back then was right and she would do it all over again if she had to but she also knew what Melody meant for Ava and if she found out that they abandoned Melody at that critical time she might never forgive her so Lily chose to keep silent.

"Ava why all of a sudden you are asking about Melody's parents? It was their decision to move and break ties with us. Why do you care?" Lilly said calmly.

"Because Mom, I saw Melody in the mall today. She didn't seem like dead to me at all, then why did you say that she was dead?" Ava said a bit angrily.

Lilly frowned. "Ava, what nonsense and you talking about? How can Melody be alive? She died 5 years ago."

Ava was really confused, her mother was saying confidently that Melody had died then how she was alive? She said anxiously, "Mom, I am not talking nonsense. I really saw Melody. Not only that, a few days ago I went to the school anniversary and someone played the song 'Star' at the program. It has to be her because that song was exclusive, except for me and Melody no one knew that song, I wrote and composed it myself, then how could someone play it? Mom, I am telling you she is very much alive. Just tell me where her parents are so that I can ask them what's going on."

"I don't know how is it possible, because as far as I know she is dead and why do you care so much about them? They are just some strangers." Lilly said angrily. She was a bit upset by the questions.

"Mom, how can you say that? Don't you know what Melody was to me? She was like a sister to me, I have been mourning her death for years. Don't you think I deserve to know why they said she was dead when she was actually alive?." Ava said in a slightly raised voice. She had a feeling something had happened after the accident and her mother was hiding it from her and that's why every time she asked her about Melody or her parent she would get angry.

Lilly looked at Ava with complicated eyes, the firm and cold look on her eyes were a bit scary, she knew if they continued this conversation then she will have to tell her everything and Lilly obviously didn't want to tell Ava anything, so she said in a warm voice, "Ava, my child, I told you before, always make friends with the people whose status is same as you. If you make friends with people whose status is lower than you, they will only take advantage of you. Melody is not worthy of your friendship. So forget her. And... Don't mention them again in front of me. I'm sleepy, I am going to bed." Saying that Lilly quickly stood up and left without giving Ava any chance to say anything else.

Ava stared at her mother's leaving back, she couldn't understand when her mother changed so much. She used to love Melody and now she was saying Melody was not worthy of her friendship. Ava was now even more certain that something had happened between the Perkar's and The Green's, Lilly's unusual behavior confirmed her suspicion. But how would she find out the truth? Her mother would certainly not say anything, she will have to find Melody's parents. She must find out what exactly happened after the accident.

Oliver's Villa.

Oliver has been sitting in his study since he came back home. He couldn't concentrate at work after he met Emily so he came back home knowing Ava would come home late. He decided to investigate Emily's past through a web search. Knight International had the most advanced search engine in the world that could find any information about anyone in the world as long as he had a name. But to his disappointment, there was nothing available about Emily Luis's past. The web could only find the recent information about Emily, which was already available in her resume. Before that, her life was completely blank, as if she didn't exist.

As Oliver was unable to find anything about Emily, he decided to give it up for the time being. He rubbed his eyes and felt pain, he has been continuously staring at the computer screen for hours. He stood up, looked at the wall clock, and frowned to see it was already 9.30 PM. He had no idea it was so late.

Oliver got out of the study and went into his bedroom tiredly. As he entered he felt the room was cold. He looked around and realized Ava was not there. He immediately came downstairs to ask Mrs. Lee.

"Mrs. Lee, hasn't Ava come back home yet?"

"No Mr. Knight, Miss Green hasn't come back."

Oliver just took out his phone and called Ava without any delay.

Ava was looking for pajamas in her bedroom at that time, she was about to take a shower when her phone started to ring. Ava took out the clothes and went to the bedside table where her phone was. Seeing it was Oliver she hesitated for a moment whether to pick it up or not, she was still angry with him, but then she picked it up.

"Ava, where are you? It's so late, why haven't you come back home yet?" Oliver rubbed his temple his head was aching.

"I'm home. Something came up. Sorry, I forgot to tell you." Ava muttered unhappily and thought, so he finally noticed that I was not home.

"Angry with me?" Oliver noticed Ava's cold and ignorant tone immediately, he smiled lightly and said in a voice as warm as a spring breeze.

"Why would I be angry with you?" Ava said in the same tone but she wondered, was she that obvious?

Oliver leaned against the wall and took a deep breath. He knew Ava understand him well, but at this moment no one could understand his complicated mood. Melody's sudden appearance just turned his whole life upside down. Before he was struggling because she was dead and now he was struggling because she came back when he finally decided to move on and start a life with Ava. He didn't know how to cope with the situation.

Oliver sighed and said with a soft smile, "I'm sorry baby, please don't be angry, I was really busy today. Sorry that I neglected you."

Hearing Oliver's soft tone, Ava's mind calmed down and she felt guilty for getting angry with him. Of course, he was the CEO of Knight International, it was normal for him to be busy. Why couldn't she be more considerate toward him?

The problem was Oliver has been always been very attentive toward Ava so today when he didn't call her the whole day and ignored her, she felt very uncomfortable in her heart and couldn't control her mood. Her mind was very sensitive, she always feared that someday Oliver would leave her, so she couldn't accept Oliver's ignorant behavior.
