Ava slowly came downstairs and saw Mrs. Lee was standing at the bottom of the stairs.
Mrs. Lee just finished preparing dinner and was about to go upstairs to call them for dinner. Seeing Ava she smiled at her kindly and said, "Miss Green, you came down, I was about to call you. The dinner is ready." Mrs. Lee's eyes fell on Oliver behind Ava and looking at his gloomy face, she was a bit scared and didn't say anything else.
Ava smiled with a stiff face and went to the dining table. She sat down and started to eat quietly with lowered head. She didn't even look at Oliver.
Oliver also sat down as if nothing happened and started to eat, however, he kept glancing at Ava. The atmosphere at the dining table was very uncomfortable. Oliver didn't like to see Ava sad and depressed, to ease the moment he picked up a piece of meat and put it on her plate.
But Ava instantly put it back on Oliver's place and said disdainfully, "I don't want to eat it."
Oliver's face darkened, and he said with a hard face, "Ava, you are really trouble sometimes. You don't want to eat right? Fine."
Saying that Oliver stood up and scooped Ava in his arm and started to walk toward the door.
Ava was stunned by the sudden act, she was in a daze for a while then asked, "What are you doing? Where are you taking me?"
"You'll find out soon," Oliver said coldly with an indifferent face.
Oliver took Ava to his car and put her in the passenger's seat then got into the driver's seat and started to drive at a crazy speed.
Although Ava was very confused about where Oliver was taking her but she didn't ask him again. Soon the car entered Ava's housing community and Ava looked at Oliver even more puzzled. Why Oliver brought her to her parent's home?
Oliver stopped the car in front of the Green Villa and pulled Ava out of the car. He took a step toward the elevator, however, Ava stopped him and asked uncomfortably, "Oliver, what are you doing? Why did you bring me to my parent's?"
"Didn't you blamed me that I don't want to marry you? I had enough of this shit, Ava. I can't take it anymore." Oliver said word by word clearly.
Ava's whole body became stiff and she clenched her fist. Did she hear it right? Did he just say he had enough of her? Ava felt her heart was stabbed by a sharp knife. So finally the day came when Oliver had enough of Ava. She should have known it.
"Good, then I should thank you for dropping me home. Thank you and Goodbye!" Ava looked at him with a strong smile and said stubbornly. But she was afraid her tears will break free any moment, her eyes already turned red.
"Who said I am dropping you off?" Oliver said with a smile.
Ava looked at him with a blank face and asked, "Then what are you doing?"
"I am here to ask for your parent's permission to marry you. Yes, Ava, I want to marry you." Oliver's eyes were bright like stars as he looked Ava in the eye with love and said with a charming smile.
Oliver's mood was very calm at this moment. Since this afternoon he has been thinking about it. Maybe he should get married and give Ava the commitment she deserved. He was hesitating because marriage was a big event in someone's life and for Oliver, it was even more important because he will get married only once in his life. However, he didn't know how and when but his heart seems to completely capture by the woman in front of him. He doesn't know if he will regret marrying her but he knew if he didn't marry her, he will regret it in the future.
Ava stared at Oliver confused, her mind was very sensitive. She was afraid Oliver took the decision because he was angry not because he wanted to. In the morning he said he was not ready, he said the same thing in the afternoon on the phone then why he changed his mind all of a sudden?
"But didn't you say you are not ready to get married?"
"Ava, do you trust me?" Oliver came closer to Ava and ask with a serious face.
Ava nodded, "Yes, I do."
"It's just that I was going through some things lately, so I wanted to delay the marriage. Not marrying you never crossed my mind even for a second but now that I got to think about it I have decided I want to marry you right away. Erika and Arvin are getting married next Friday, what do you say we get married, with them too?" Oliver said with a ruffian smile on his handsome face.
"What? Next Friday?" Ava said in surprise.
"Yes. Ava Green, I know I am a very difficult person but I really love you. Will you gamble your life with me?" Oliver suddenly held Ava's hand and propose to her in front of her parent's house. Although it was an unusual place to propose to someone, but when there was love in your heart it didn't matter where you do it.
Ava was so happy that she couldn't help but cover her mouth and weep silently as she said in a choked voice, "I will."
"Silly girl. Thank you." Oliver gently wiped her tears and took her in his arm. Oliver stroked her head and said in a serious tone, "Honey, I swear I don't know who texted me this afternoon. Please believe me, I have no other woman in my life except for you."
Ava really felt guilty for reacting and arguing with Oliver because of the text this afternoon. She thought she should clear out her feeling so she said in a low voice, "Oliver I am sorry, I shouldn't have reacted that way this afternoon. Actually, I was a bit confused when you said you were not ready to get married, then I saw the text and that made me more insecure. I thought you didn't love me and didn't want me anymore that's why you were just making excuses to avoid the marriage."
"Baby, I am sorry I made you feel that way but I promise to you, I'll never let go of your hand in this life." Oliver's smile grew deeper and his handsome face was filled with joy. He pulled her and kissed her softly.
All the insecurity and doubt Ava had in her mind for the last few days all disappeared at that moment and they happily walked toward the elevator hand in hand.
