The Tracking App

Ava was playing the piece of music she has prepared for the "midsummer night's dream" piano competition in the living room. She and Oliver composed it together. They named it "The dream of seven princesses". At the beginning of the tune, it sounded a bit sad but then slowly the tune became very cheerful. There were some flaws when the tune changed its rhythms, but Oliver helped Ava fix it by changing a few things and now the tune was perfect and beautiful. Ava kept playing it again and again, and her heart felt warm every time she did. She never thought Oliver would be so understanding of her music. He understood even before Ava could express it. Sometimes being understanding was more important than accompanying someone.

When Ava finished playing Oliver came to her and held her in his arm, "Honey, I need to go to France for the business trip tomorrow. You'll be home alone, you can't run around anywhere. Whenever you are tired, you need to take a rest. You can't practice too hard, OK?"

Ava nodded, "For how long will you be gone this time?"

"Three days, the last business trip was almost a year ago," Oliver said with a smile. He still remembered the last trip was to the US and after he came back Ava broke up with him. After Ava and Oliver reconciled, he tried to avoid business trips as much as he could, but this one he couldn't avoid.

"OK, I'll wait for you to come back to me safely." Ava put her arms around Oliver's neck and kissed him softly.

Oliver immediately put his arms around Ava's waist, held her tightly, and deepened the kiss. Suddenly Oliver stood up and scooped Ava in his arm and head toward their bedroom.

Ava already knew what was about to happen. The moment doctor said they could have sex, Oliver would attack her every now and then. Although he was aware of her tiredness and would try to restrain himself as much as he could, but sometimes he was like an uncontrollable beast.

The next morning, Ava was sleeping soundly in Oliver's arm when he woke up. Oliver looked at her, she looked so peaceful, he placed a deep kiss on her forehead. He needed to get ready, his flight was in an hour so he got up unwillingly, got ready, and left.

Ava woke up and saw the empty room. She was used to that, since she left her job, she has been sleeping a lot so by the time she wakes up every morning Oliver was already at work. Ava slowly sat up on the bed and noticed there was a note on the bedside table. Ava picked up the note and read it carefully.

"Baby, have a good rest at home, call me when you miss me or if you need anything and love your husband."

Ava smiled softly, she would definitely miss him but since he was on a business trip for three days, it was her only chance to go to Lingyuan to find Melody's parents. Ava got up and quickly packed a small suitcase with a few sets of clothes and her daily necessities.

Mrs. Lee was doing some cleaning in the living room, she heard some noise on the stair and saw Ava was coming down with a suitcase. She quickly ran to her and said, "Madam, what are you doing? I'll carry that."

Ava smiled and said, "No, Mrs. Lee it's not heavy."

"Still you should not carry something like that but where are you going?" Mrs. Lee took the case from Ava and asked a bit puzzled.

"Mrs. Lee, I want to go home for two days."

"Oh, ok." Mrs. Lee smiled kindly.

Ava drove her own car and met Daniel at the place they have agreed on to meet and then they ride in Daniel's car. Lingyuan was not very far from Beijing it's only 292 Km away, so it should not take more than 4 hours for them to reach there.

Daniel sat down on the driving seat and started to set up the direction on the navigation when he saw his phone was on low battery. He must have forgotten to charge it. Daniel looked at Ava and said embarrassedly, "Ava, can I use your phone for the navigation? My one is out of charge."

"Yes of course." Ava quickly took out her phone from her bag and handed it to Daniel.

Daniel put his own phone on charge and took Ava's phone to set up the navigation. However, when he opened the main screen, he noticed there was a small circle on the top right corner of her mobile phone. Daniel immediately became alert, he was familiar with that icon. It was a satellite tracking icon. He turned the phone, looked at it carefully. He instantly realized this was a customized phone which was very popular recently for its most advanced tracking device. Daniel guessed Oliver must have given the phone to Ava.

"Ava, did Oliver give you this phone?"

"Yes, how did you know?" Ava asked with a smile.

"This is a very expensive phone, it almost cost the same as my car. Your man is very generous. Do you know there is a location tracking app on your phone? As long as it's on anyone can track your location even with the phone turned off. It's very effective to find someone."

Ava stared at Daniel with a confused and surprised expression. She never heard of such an advanced location tracking system that can find someone's location even when it was turned off. "I didn't know there was a location tracking app on my phone, show me where it is?" Ava said with creased eyebrows, as she leaned forward to looked at the phone.

It took Daniel a few minutes to find that app. When he opened it, he found another location was showing on the map, which was Oliver's location at that moment.

Ava suddenly realized that Oliver could see where she was anytime he wanted from anywhere, which meant if he checked now he will know he was outside, and not only that, she was going to Lingyuan, if Oliver finds out he will definitely get angry.

Ava said in a pleading tone, "Sir, can you please turn off this tracking app?"

"Of course, it seems Oliver is always watching you," Daniel said what Ava already figured out.

"It's probably because of my safety purpose. I don't blame him." Ava said distractedly. She wholeheartedly believed Oliver did it to keep her safe, that was probably how he found out she was kidnapped last time.

Daniel didn't say anything else. He just drove the car quietly. He knew no matter what he said Ava will defend Oliver after all she loved him and he was her husband. So he understood it.
