Leaving everything behind

Ava and Oliver walked out of the hospital together. Oliver opened the car door for Ava and she got inside obediently. Oliver turned and got to the driver's seat but he didn't start the car right away. When Ava asked him inside to get out of Emily's room, he stood outside and kept thinking that, he should come clean about Melody to Ava. Since she started to get normal again he didn't want her to have any knot in her heart.

"Ava, I want to explain everything about Melody to you." Oliver looked at Ava and said with a little hesitation.

"I don't want to hear anything right now. Please don't mention Melody in front of me again." Ava said coldly, although Melody was innocent in all this farce but she still couldn't forget the fact that Oliver used to be her boyfriend. If only she told her before. If she was alive now Ava would ask her why she didn't tell her, but then again if she was alive then she and Oliver would be married by now.

What a mess this all is! Ava closed her eyes in pain.

"But Ava baby, we should..."

"Let's go home, Oliver. When I come back from my trip we will start fresh." Ava stopped Oliver and said with a smile.

Looking at Ava's smile, Oliver's uncomfortable heart finally calmed down. He held her hand, his eyes twinkled, and he asked with an uncertain tone, "really?" He couldn't believe she was willing to forgive him just like that

Ava nodded solemnly and said, "Of course, you still owe me a child."

All the uncertainty Oliver had was gone in an instant. He smiled wide and said sincerely, "I'm sorry, Ava."

"Never say sorry again."

Oliver started the car and put on music. Ava was surprised to hear the music, it was actually the "princessdream".

"When did you record it?" She asked a bit surprised.

"When you didn't pay attention, of course," Oliver said with a charming smile. He was really happy. Ava was no longer indifferent to him so he thought she finally came back to him.

Ava didn't say anything else. The soothing Prelude was so beautiful that Ava closed her eyes and listened to it quietly.

On that night, Ava's behavior was completely normal just like before the accident. She talked and laughed with Oliver and even slept in his arm at night. For the next two days, everything seemed very normal between Ava and Oliver.

The night before Ava was going to leave, like the other two nights she slept in Oliver's arm. In the middle of the night Ava woke up from a nightmare, she sat up on the bed gasping for air. Ava turned on the bedside lamp and saw Oliver sleeping peacefully beside her. She started at the man for a while, this will be the last time she would see the handsome face of the man she loved so much.

So much time has passed since she met him and so many things have happened. But when she lost the most precious things of her life, it was her bottom line. Time will probably heal her wounds but the scar will always be there. Suddenly Ava remembered Emily's last words, 'Ava you will never be happy outside.'

Emily was probably right, her wounds were too deep, even if she ran away from Oliver, she will probably never be happy again in her life. Maybe her life will be even more painful than Emily's, and all because of the man who was sleeping here peacefully. Ava hated him at that moment.

If Oliver didn't approach her for revenge and could be open with her from the beginning then probably they would be very happy together. But now, Melody and her child were too much for Ava to bear and that's why she needs to leave.

That night was very long for Ava, she kept thinking about the time she had with Oliver, his love, his lies, and his betrayals again and again.

The next morning, Ava packed her bags when Oliver was still in bed. After Oliver woke up they had breakfast together. Ava acted like a normal person the whole time. When it was time for her to leave Oliver suddenly hugged her from behind and held her tightly. He didn't know why he was feeling like he was about to say goodbye to her forever.

"Ava, can you not go alone please?" Oliver said uncomfortably.

Ava smiled and said in a soft tone, "It's just about a week; I'll be back before you know it and then we will start fresh."

Oliver was still reluctant to let her go, but he was also aware that Ava needed this. If he didn't give her the space right now, she might not be able to let the past go. So even though he was unwilling, he still decided to let her go. She was right, when she comes back they will start fresh without any old baggage, with that thought, Oliver let Ava go.

Ava wanted to go to Huangyao Ancient Town, Zhaoping County. Instead of taking the train or plane, she decided to go there by bus. Oliver couldn't understand why she was insisting on traveling by bus, it's going to take her almost a day to reach Huangyao city but she was very persistent about it, so Oliver had no choice but to buy a bus ticket for Ava. Oliver took her to the bus station himself. The bus station was bustling with people.

A young guide wearing a sun hat suddenly approached Ava and asked with a smile, "Hello, are you Mrs. Ava Knight?"

"Yes, it's me."

"We are about to leave are you ready, Mrs. Knight?"

Ava nodded and turned to Oliver. Her eyes turned a little red still she smiled. She was about to leave everything behind and run away. Her parents, career, her life, and the man she loved. "Oliver, I'm leaving. You need to take good care of yourself, ok!"

Oliver reluctantly let go of her hand and said in a gentle tone, "OK, I'll wait for you. Come back to me soon."

Ava got on the bus and looked around. She saw a man with a built body at the back wearing a black cap and a simple white shirt. She already knew that was Daniel. He raised his head slightly and there was a gentle smile on his elegant face.

Ava walked at the back and sat down beside Daniel. The curtain on the bus was drawn so no one could see anything from outside, the bus slowly left the station.

"Brother Daniel," Ava said with a smile.

"Are you ready, silly girl? It's too late to get off now." Daniel asked with a warm smile. His amber eyes sparkled as he looked at Ava.

"I am ready. Could you arrange the paper I asked you about?"

Daniel took out the divorce agreement from his bag pack and handed the paper and a pen to Ava.

Ava opened the divorce agreement and signed it without any hesitation and handed it back to Daniel. She hoped this will settle in peace, although she will be far away but she will eventually come back and when she did she wanted Oliver to be her past only.
