The Mysterious boy

3 years later.

Oliver's Villa.

Ava left and took Oliver's happiness, anger, and sorrow everything with her. Season after the season came and went but Oliver never smiled again, he just worked all day and night to keep himself busy. The only thing that was keeping him sane was the 3 years old mysterious boy who he claimed to be his son.

No one knew anything about this mysterious boy. After Ava left, Oliver went abroad on business once and came back with a year-old boy with him. No one knew who he was or what was his background. Oliver legally registered him in his household book and told everyone that, he has adopted him. Not many people have seen the boy but whoever has seen him could easily see his resemblance with Oliver. However, no one ever dared to question Oliver anything.

Oliver was standing in the courtyard watching the snow-covered yard in front of him, the yard looked exactly the same as when he and Ava built three snowmen there years ago. It's been 3 years, and still, he seems to hear their laughter in the yard. She never came back. Ava's body was never found and Oliver never believed that she was dead. A first he looked for Ava everywhere for 3 months after she disappeared but he couldn't find her anywhere. He realized she must have used a fake identity since there was no record of her traveling.

At first, Oliver couldn't understand how Ava did that on her own when she was in front of him all the time, then he came to realize someone must have helped her, and who else could it be other than Daniel? Oliver went to confront him and found Daniel left his job at the exact time when Ava disappeared and no one knew where he was. Oliver already knew in his heart that Ava ran away with Daniel. Her leaving didn't hurt him as much as learning that she left with Daniel did, it really stung his heart badly. After that Oliver never looked for Ava again. He believed she will come back one day and when the day comes Oliver will bring back Ava into his life again never to let her go for the rest of her life.

Mrs. Lee was sitting in the living room holding Orion in her arm, feeding him milk and talking to him happily. The people outside think Oliver has adopted a son but Mrs. Lee knew in her heart that this was Oliver's child, however, she was not sure who was the mother of this child.

"Grandma Lee, Orion wants to read a story please!" Orion said looking at Mrs. Lee with his big eyes that looked exactly like Oliver's.

"OK little master, you wait here I'll get your book." Mrs. Lee stood up and went into the study to get a storybook for Orion.

Orion was a very clever boy, his memory was spectacular. In fact, he has a photographic memory he wouldn't forget anything he saw only once. Therefore, he not only knew all the alphabet and letters well but also at this early age he could actually read books fluently.

Mrs. Lee got Orion a book and he started to read. Suddenly the front door of the villa opened and Oliver walked inside in his cold demeanor.

"Dad!" Orion put his book down and quickly ran towards Oliver.

Oliver smiled lightly, crouched down, and picked the boy up in his arm. Only when this little guy was in front of him he could smile a little.

"Orion, how have you been at home? You didn't trouble much to Granma Lee, did you?" Oliver asked with a spoiled face.

"No dad, Orion has been very obedient. He finished all his homework and was about to read his storybook." Orion held Oliver's neck tightly and said in his soft baby voice.

"That's great. My boy is the best." Oliver sat down on the couch with his son in his arms. He worked all day, he was very tired but the moment he took Orion in his arm he felt like all his tiredness was gone. He felt relaxed.

Mrs. Lee looked at the father and son from the door with a smile. She felt happy but she still felt bad for him. Mrs. Lee knew Oliver had only Ava in his heart but after her death, he didn't allow anyone to mention her or even moved all of her belongings. She couldn't understand why Oliver was so mad at Ava.

Ava's parents knew about the accident and wanted to set up a tombstone for their daughter in the graveyard, but Oliver insisted that Ava didn't die and that she will come back. So he didn't let the two elders set up any tombstones. James and Lilly were heartbroken seeing him like that but seeing Oliver so determined, they couldn't help but also hope that their daughter was alive and will come back home one day.

Oliver has been very filial to James and Lilly all these years. He took upon Ava's role and often visited them whenever he was slightly free. He took care of their needs and made sure they never felt Ava's absence in their life. When he brought Orion into the city, he took him to meet James and Lilly. James and Lilly were very happy about that, seeing the child for some reason they always felt a pull toward him so they accepted him as their grandchild without any hesitation. Not to mention, this little guy brought a lot of joy to the lonely couple whose daughter was missing.

In fact not only the Green family, this little guy was also the apple of the eyes of the Knight family. Since Michael and his family died Ella had shut entirely herself down. She wouldn't talk or eat anything just stay in her room all day. Conner and Oliver both were very worried about Ella, but since Orion came into Ella's life, it seemed like she found her will to talk and laugh again. Although Orion was a little cold around strangers just like Oliver, but in front of his family he was a sweet talker and their entertainment, in one word he was the light of their life. Now their whole world was around Orion.

However, Oliver has completely changed; he has become even more silent than when he lost Melody. He would only work and wouldn't talk much with anyone unless it was about work. Even then most of the talking would be done by Uncle Joe, he would only be present to sign the deal. It was only when he was at home Oliver would talk to his son. Most of the time he would just stare at his phone looking at the woman he loved and missed so much for the past 3 years. He would also blame himself for breaking Ava's heart to the point that she left. If only he could turn back the time he wouldn't treat her so badly, he would tell her the truth and also open up his heart to her.

Every year on the day that Ava disappeared, he would grieve by locking himself down in his room and by drinking his sorrow away. The next day he would wake up early again and go back to the office just like any other day. No one knew what he did inside his bedroom on that day. His life was very cold, and robotic, like on autopilot when he was around other people.

The doorbell in the villa suddenly rang and Mrs. Lee ran to open the door.
