It was Over

Oliver almost choked hearing Kiara, was she crazy? He stared at Kiara for a second then with a sneer he said coldly, "My child? How did you get pregnant with my child when I never touched you?"

Kiara bit her lips and said, "You probably don't remember, but we slept together at Arvin's party last month after you drank too much wine."

Oliver's eyes now turned dark and he clenched his teeth to keep his anger in check. He said in a calm tone, "Kiara you know you could do better. Why do you want to ruin the friendship we have? And about the party last month, yes I did drink a little bit too much but my mind was still conscious enough to know what was right and what was wrong. I never lose myself to this extent not knowing whether I touched a woman or not. Don't try to play these games with me, you know I hate it."

Kiara looked at Oliver's fierce eyes and swallowed hard, he was angry. Shit! She should have known better, Oliver was smart of course he knew. Damn it! That night she tried to throw herself at Oliver a few times but he didn't take the bait and passed out.

Kiara laughed awkwardly and said to smooth things, "Oliver, don't be so serious, It was a little joke."

Oliver always thought Kiara was a cunning woman but now he felt like she was actually a stupid scheming woman. Compared to her Ava was actually very smart and intelligent. He was too lazy to keep this go on, he just smiled coldly and said, "It's late. You should go to bed. I'll leave now."

Kiara was at a loss. She not only got busted but also Oliver was leaving. She was so beautiful and elegant, many men worshiped her as their goddess yet Oliver never even looked at her. This time Kiara thought since Ava was dead she had time to capture the man's heart but that bitch came back and now Oliver seem to be more distant.

"Oliver, you have changed," Kiara said in a tone full of blame.

"Kiara it's normal for people to change," Oliver said indifferently.

"Yes, but don't you think you changed because Ava came back? Do you think she still loves you? Don't be a fool Oliver, she has moved on. She even got married to that senior brother of hers. How can you not see it?" Kiara said sharply. She was tired of fighting for her love. Why doesn't he see how much she loves him, why does he keep running after that bitch.

"Kiara you don't understand. It was my fault, three years ago I hurt her so badly that she left, and now no matter how she decided to torture me I will have to accept it. It's my retribution. I made too many mistakes in the past but I am going to fix my mistakes and make her come back to me." Oliver didn't want to give any hope to Kiara so he decided to be honest and tell her his intention about getting Ava back.

Kiara was shocked, she couldn't believe her ears. Was this the almighty Oliver Knight? How could he talk about an ordinary woman like that? Where is his dignity? "Oliver, are you crazy? Don't you care that she is living with another man and claims to be his wife?" Kiara said in a harsh tone.

Oliver let out a self-mocking laugh and said in a lost tone, "Of course, I care, but compared to that, I am more afraid that she doesn't love me anymore. Kiara, you won't understand this. Stop wasting your time on me and find your own happiness. Ava will eventually come back to me, there is no chance for you and me."

No chance? Kiara was sad, angry, and jealous at the same time. She could see the infatuated look in Oliver's eyes when he talked about Ava. She hated Ava so much that she couldn't even hide it in her eyes. She tried to control the tears that were about to come out and forced out a smile then said in a very soft tone, "Oliver if she didn't come back, will you please give me a chance? You see, Orion likes me very much and I like him too. We can be a beautiful family, we won't have any more children if you want."

Oliver sighed but said in a decisive and final tone, "Kiara, I have already said what I had to say. Don't waste your time on me anymore. I need to go now. Have a good rest. Goodbye." Saying that Oliver didn't wait for Kiara to say anything else, he just turned and left.

Kiara stared at Oliver back with a blank face, trying hard to hold back her tears. She kept telling herself like a mantra, Kiara, don't cry, don't fall apart. You are strong, you need to be strong but in the end, she couldn't hold back. She fell on the floor and wept quietly.

She wondered knowing Oliver never loved her why she kept being so stubborn. It's just she couldn't give up her love for him, after all, she has been obsessed with him since she was a teenager. Although they were very close in the past but there was always an invisible wall between them, but today Kiara felt like Oliver had gone so far that she will never be able to reach him ever again. It was over, it really was a final goodbye.
