Shocked Sarah

In the afternoon, Ava called Sarah and asked her to come to see her as soon as possible. Sarah could hear the urgency in her sister's voice so she came as quickly as she could. Ava was waiting for Sarah so when she came Ava told her to sit and she started to make tea for Sarah and herself. Ava was trying hard to think how she should talk to Sarah about Amy, after all, Sarah and Amy grew up together and were best friends. Ava knew it will be a shock for Sarah. So she decided to start with a simple conversation to make Sarah comfortable rather than getting to the point.

"How are you doing Sarah?" Ava asked with a gentle smile.

"I am ok sister, just getting ready for next semester," Sarah said with a smile as she took a sip of her tea.

After talking for a few more minutes Ava finally asked, "Sarah what do you think of Amy?"

Sarah got perplexed by the question so she looked at Ava but her serious face made her even more confused. She asked, "What do you mean Ava, why are you asking that suddenly?"

"Sarah, what I'm about to tell you right now is probably going to shock you and be difficult for you to believe but trust me when I say, it's all true. I went to an event last night and I accidentally came across Amy with a middle age man. They looked like a couple and had an intimate relationship. She is not what we think she is." Ava knew her words won't be enough to make her sister believe so she took her phone from the table and played the video she recorded last night for Sarah.

To say Sarah was shocked would be an understatement, she couldn't understand what was going on, this girl clearly looks like her friend Amy. But how is this possible, why was she with this old man? Didn't she love Ben? Sarah still couldn't believe what she was seeing so she asked doubtfully, "Ava, are you sure it's her? I mean it could be someone who looked like Amy." If it wasn't Ava who was showing her this video then she wouldn't even consider the possibility of this being Amy. Her sister couldn't make a mistake but how could this be Amy, she knew her best friend. If Amy was this kind of girl wouldn't she have noticed already that something was wrong with her?

"I know what you are thinking Sarah, I would be doubting too if it was my best friend but unfortunately she was Amy, I have heard her conversation with this man from the beginning."

Sarah sat there holding the phone still staring at the paused video trying to believe her own eyes. When did she change that much? They have been growing up together, they were practically glued to each other most of the time then how did she become like this?

Seeing Sarah trying to process such shocking news, Ava felt bad for her, she wanted to comfort her so she sat by her and hugged her then said, "I am sorry Sarah, I know she is your best friend but you need to watch out for her. I think that girl has changed completely, she was not as simple as we thought she was. Even I was shocked when I saw her last night. Looks like you cannot trust anyone these days, and come to think of it, you actually sacrificed your love for someone like her. It's really not worth it, I think you need to tell Ben the truth, he really likes you, Sarah."

"But..." Sarah bit her lips, "Ava, I have seen how much she really loves Ben…I don't understand….how?"

Ava was speechless, when did her smart sister start to think like a dumb woman? "Sarah, you need to think clearly. Alright, let's just say you sacrificed your love, and Ben and Amy got together, when Ben will find out what kind of person Amy really is, don't you think he will feel cheated and hurt?" Ava was really helpless, if Sarah keep doubting herself like this she will suffer more in the future.

Sarah stayed silent for a while then finally realized what mistake she had made, "Sister, you are right. I can't let Ben get hurt because of Amy. Since she chose to be with someone else I think it's time for me to stop thinking about her and sacrifice my own love."

"That's my girl, go and clear the misunderstandings between you and Ben. Don't lose him for some foolish reason." Ava let out a sigh of relief and advised her.

"Ok, Ava, Thank you." Sarah quickly hugged Ava and got up. She couldn't wait any longer, she has to find Ben and tell him that she lied about Mr. Evan. She has been in love with him for a long time. She was going to confess her love for him today.
