Uncle Joe came into Oliver's office holding the final detail document for the land auction, the bidding is happing tomorrow. As he entered he saw Oliver was still watching Ava's live telecast, he shook his head and said in a mocking tone, "Since when CEO knight is so into local gossip."
Oliver ignored Uncle Joe's sarcastic remark and asked coldly, "Are the documents ready?"
Uncle Joe shrugged and sat down opposite Oliver then said, "Here are the final 2 quotations that you asked for. But why two of the? Do you want the land or not? " Uncle Joe was confused why Oliver made him prepare 2 quotations. He used to be brutal when it comes to business but now that Ava was involved he seems to be holding back more.
"What do you think?" Oliver asked not sparing even a glance at him.
Uncle Joe thought for a while then he smiled and said, "I think you want it."
"You know me so well." Oliver looked at Uncle Joe and smiled but his smile was unpredictable. no one could guess what was going on in his mind.
Uncle Joe knew something was up, he shook his head helplessly again but didn't ask him anything instead he asked quietly, "CEO Knight can I ask why aren't you telling her about him, you know she will come back at once if she found out. Then why play these games? " Uncle Joe was confused why Oliver was making slow moves on Ava. If he told her about Orion she would come back without any hesitation then what was stopping Oliver to do that? Besides, the Oliver Knight he knew was a ruthless man, he would take his wife back at any cost, he wasn't the kind to be sitting here and sulking by watching his wife walking there holding another man's hand. Uncle Joe was really puzzled at Oliver's laid-back attitude, he couldn't understand what was going on in his head.
Oliver smiled wickedly and said, "It's fun to play with your prey before hunting them down and going for the kill, don't you think?" Oliver picked up one of the documents from the two and without even looking at the amount he sealed it for the bidding tomorrow and handed it to Uncle Joe.
Uncle Joe was speechless, does he really want the land or does he wants to give it to Daniel for Ava's sake? However, just like a wise man he didn't question Oliver's decision, he picked up the document and left.
At the land auction, many businessmen bid for it. Although the piece of land was not very valuable at this moment but one could tell its future prospects were huge. After some development that land surely can become one of the prospectus sites with some good returns, so some wise businessmen decided to invest in it. However, since Oliver knight was there to bid for the land no one was very hopeful they would be able to win it. Of course, except for Daniel, he was confident he will win the bidding today. He was seated in the 3rd row with Ava. Although Ava was one of the shareholders of A&D but when it comes to business she was never very involved but today she came just to support Daniel.
However, her appearance at a business land auction made Oliver's mood turn dark. First, she declared in front of the whole city that they were just friends, then she dared to say she loves Daniel in front of so many people and now she even came to support Daniel at the land auction. Ava, you really have no limits when it comes to torturing me. But Oliver didn't show an ounce of emotion on his cold face, as if the couple that was seated two seats behind him have nothing to do with him. He just sat there and kept talking to people who came to greet him until the bidding started.
Ava, on the other hand, was very uncomfortable seeing Oliver, she kept glancing at him from time to time and keep fidgeting with a loose thread of her clutch. Knowing Oliver's character she knew he must be very angry about what she said to the live telecast yesterday. Now she was afraid seeing her with Daniel would set him off and he would do something awful. After all, she provoked the devil by saying those words in front of so many people. When she saw he paid no attention to them, she was relieved but she still felt like it was the calm before the storm.
