By the time Oliver finished, he looked really sad. Ava stared at him as tears fell from her eyes freely. He was alive, all this time she thought she has lost him and hated Oliver for that, he was actually alive and well. If she knew her child was alive she wouldn't have left, she wouldn't be hating Oliver so much, she wouldn't be suffering and grieving. She lost three years of his life because she selfishly left while Oliver took over her role and raised their child. Ava didn't know if her heart could hurt anymore, she felt all kinds of emotions at the same time, guilt, despair, anger, love, longing! Ava held Oliver tightly and said in a choking voice "Oliver are you serious? He is really our son?"
"He is, baby, if you don't believe me then you can do a DNA test any time."
"But why didn't you tell me when I came back?" Ava asked in a tone full of blame. If Oliver had told her she would have come back sooner, she could be with her child a month earlier, after all that child was everything to her. Although she never held him in her arm when he was born, she didn't feed him or even changed his diaper or have done anything a mother would do she still loved her child more than anything.
Oliver smiled and looked at her lovingly then said softly, "I didn't want to use Orion as a bargaining chip to bring you back, Ava. I wanted you to come back to me, to us willingly." More tears start to flow from AVa's eyes, and Oliver wiped them softly. "But I did try to give you hints when we were at your parents, for dinner, remember? Orion got all your food habits. But you silly woman didn't take the hint and even fought with me thinking I cheated on you." Oliver took Ava's face into his big palm and said sincerely looking into her eyes, "Ava, I never cheated on you since I met you. I may not be able to tell you how much I love you But I have always loved you wholeheartedly." He didn't want to waste another second by not telling her how he felt about her. Before Ava left Oliver thought if he told her how he really felt she would have full control over him but after she left he regretted not telling her because if he did she probably wouldn't doubt his love for her so much.
Ava understood Oliver's reason, she has been blaming him for being ruthless while he did everything to protect her. Why couldn't she see it before? Ava felt regretful for doubting his love for her, for thinking he just wanted to hurt her while the truth was he was loving her in his own way. Ava closed her eyes and wept some more holding Oliver. "You still should have told me, I wouldn't have missed 3 years of his life if you had. "
"Would you have believed me, Ava? How many times did I try to tell you, how much I love you but you always doubted my sincerity toward you." Oliver said sadly.
Ava felt ashamed of herself, he is not wrong. It's true that she never believed him with all her heart. Maybe it was her insecurity or lack of confidence in herself but she always thought Oliver was way out of her league so why would he be sincere with her? "I am sorry Oliver. You are right, I never believed you. I am so sorry."
Oliver held her tightly and said softly, "It's ok silly girl, it's not only your fault, maybe I couldn't express my love for you properly that's why you doubted me." They stayed in each other's arms for a while before Ava asked in a serious tone, "How is his health now, does he have any more complications?"
"No, he has recovered completely, you can check his reports later. The doctors said everything was good and normal and he can have a long and healthy life in the future." Oliver said truthfully.
"Oliver please take me to him, I want to see him right now."
"What's the rush baby? You can see him tomorrow. We need to get some rest first." Oliver understood her urgency but they had a very long flight abroad, and he was afraid she would fall sick if she didn't get some rest.
"No, Oliver I can't wait any longer. How could I not recognize my own child? I really feel stupid right now. I need to see him right away, please take me to him." Ava said with pleading eyes.
Oliver's eyes soften looking at her pleading eyes, he could understand how she was feeling knowing Orion was her child. Besides he also couldn't help but reunite the mother and the son so he gave in.
