Grait Walls Built by Clair

Pope POV:

"FUCK!" Why? These fucking demons. Why aren't they able to accept that their live is nothing of worth and that it's better to die?

Everything was good not even 10 years ago. I had the highest position in the Church of Sira and the only other person who had an equal might was Yukina and even she couldn't go directly against me.

These beasts were under our control, there were no free beastkin or elfs. All of them bowed under the glorious might of us humans. Sure we had to take care of the occasionally border fights between us and Duren, but these weren't really worthy to mention.

And then! Then came this bitch! This fucking bitch of an elf. It started slowly, some rumours about a girl that has apparently godly skills in everything she does. Naturally we thought of that as of what it was, rumours. But then she came to the school tournament and won it almost single-handedly. And this stupid fucking king of Kirk had to give her the Dragon Forest.

Who could have thought that she would build a fucking gigantic wall around it and build a freaking country inside in under a year?

That is hilarious!

Naturally we started to get concerned and sent some assassins. This should have been enough, but we lost contact with them and couldn't ignore the fact that they failed.

The population was quickly on her side with her policies against nobles and slavery. It was further boosted with her manufacturing of public libraries and schools Doesn't she get it that it's the only reason why we have the power? These stupid peasants aren't allowed to know something like how to read. Wisdom is power and peasants aren't allowed to have power if you want to stay at the top.

It's only thanks to the centuries-long indoctrination of our citizen that we stayed halfway strong. Each citizen grows up with an iron strong devotion to Siria. However, that is sadly only the case in Raska.

She even installed this literal bitch as a queen.

A few years later she vanished and then suddenly walked inside our temple of Siria. And Siria then said that I'm not allowed to mess with her any longer. She must've done something to her. Good that she's only an elemental and not too prone on meddling with us humans.

I quickly spread rumours about her and Yukina forming an alliance. It wasn't even a false rumour. This gave me the chance to kick Yukina from her throne and enact me as the rightful ruler of Raska.

My folk followed me eagerly.

All was good for a few weeks, but then came this strange man. He said he was the god of magic. At first he spoke with Siria and then with the prisoned Yukina. I still don't know why he was so against torture, but he clearly showed that he's powerful. At least if you can deduce that from his act of killing my personal guards.

He helped us to summon a bunch of heroes and I was able to form an alliance with Kirk against Solo, Tragon and above all Aeron. We had over three million soldiers and started our campaign with Turonis. The first city that succumbed to the false god named Clair. They even dared to rebel against Kirk.

But Aeron turned out to be more than only a country that hides behind a giant wall. Clair and an army of strange things came to aid and crushed the small force we sent to Turonis.

Turonis then was incorporated into Aeron and got their wall and even these guardian golems. Who shouldn't even be able to function outside of the Dragon Forest according to this bitch of a queen.

She obviously lied to us.

We had to regroup and then marched towards Tragon. A million soldiers and every hero should have been more than enough to crush them. But we lost contact to the heroes and even our army.

We lost a million soldiers overnight!

And if that wasn't enough, this fucking god of magic said that he wouldn't risk anything and left us. He even took Siria with him.

Good I thought, fuck him. He only helped us with some training in magic anyway. But no some Siria or some real god clearly thinks that it's funny to piss on every dream I have and now we have an demon invasion from both the border to Duren and Schwarzwald. How is that even freaking possible?!

"Sir?" Asked the clearly frightened messenger.

"Call the generals," I demanded and he hurriedly left.

Fuck!

Okay, first we have to overcome this demon invasion and then somehow try to pacify Aeron. Even if I don't like it, we can't manage a four front war. Hell, we couldn't even manage a two front war.

Maybe I'm able to talk us out by convincing them that Kirk started to suggest the whole thing?

Who am I kidding? We are screwed.

Live clearly got worse since this Clair came up.

Clair POV:

"So the demons really used the opportunity and attacked?" Asked Kyli. We, Drull, Lilia, Ilza, and me were in her office and were speaking about further actions against HAS and possibly even the demons.

"Yes your Majesty, two armies of demons invaded Raska. One from the northern border and a second one from Schwarzwald. We don't have a specific estimation about their strength, but we know that the army, that comes from Schwarzwald, is weaker," said a courier.

"Anything else?" Kyli asked. The courier denied that, to which Kyli gave him a gesture to leave.

"What do you think?" She then asked the moment the door closed.

"We know that the elfs and demons were allied. However, that was a few hundred years ago. What we don't know is how they managed to climb the mountains at the northern border of Schwarzwald," I answered.

"That's easy, they walked through them. There was once a dwarfen city, though I don't know if it's still inhabited," came from Drull.

"I don't think so, there aren't any records about such a city. The mountains at the northern border of Schwarzwald aren't well known for their safety anyway. There are a couple of really nasty monster and plants in this part of the forest.

Really , I even wonder how they managed to walk through them," said Kyli.

"Maybe they were larger at the beginning but were simply decimated?" Ilza suggested.

"That or they had help from Rin`To. She would be able to help them," I added.

"Might be possible," Drull agreed.

"Well, we won't know it until we ask or look for ourselve. So Clair, would you be so kind and see what happens?" Said Kyli and looked at me expectantly.

"I don't see why not, it was one of the places I want to see anyway," I said with a shrug.

"Ähm, I'd like to stay here," said Lilia a bit meekly.

"Why?" Me.

"I kinda like to teach the children at the magic academy," she said.

"But you left the magic academy in Turonis? Isn't that contradictory?" I asked.

"That was before the government was changed from a racist and suppressing group of mostly sadistic, old and narcissistic group of men to Kyli," she answered dryly.

"Point taken," I simply said.

"And what do we do about Raska and Kirk? I mean we can't simply let them get slaughtered by demons," said Kyli after a pause.

"I vouch for nothing," I said.

"Seconded!" Agreed Drull.

"NO! We can't let them die," came from Lilia who disagreed strongly.

"I have to agree with Lilia, they might be racist and at war with us, but there are still humans who aren't deserving of what will happen with them," said Kyli and got a smile in appreciation from Lilia.

"I don't care," came from Ilza.

"So two are against helping them, two are pro and one doesn't care? Okay, let's say we will help them, what should we do?" Me.

"Can't we just push them back with your golems? That will also raise our reputation," Kyli asked.

"My golems aren't really on the strong side, they have neither skill nor the ability to learn, which makes them highly static and weak in a real war. Sure they might be good enough in a surprise attack or a prolonged battle, but against trained soldiers with a good tactic? Hardly," I said.

"Then why did you make them to begin with?" Asked Ilza.

"Thought it was a good idea. I came to the conclusion that they aren't good in a fight with even numbers," I answered.

"How many did you make anyway?" Asked Lilia.

"I think ten Million," I answered.

"°sigh° Clair, could we please have them? You've said they aren't good. But we are still able to use them for our gains. Even if they fail, they will still increase our reputation," said Kyli.

"Okay, I'll give you a few dimensional pockets with them inside, you can do whatever you want with them. But they won't be able to reconstruct themselves without my order, so each lost golem stays lost," Me.

"Thanks, there is something else, would it be possible to make the same wall of Aeron's border at the border of Tragon and Solo towards Kirk and Raska?" Kyli then asked.

"A few clones would be able to do that, but they won't get our golems. Why?" I asked back.

"They asked us and it would be a way to keep us and them safe from any possible demon invasion. In case our golems and the rests of HAS's army fails to drive them back." Kyli replied.

"And what do we get in return?" I asked. There is no way that I'm willing to help without anything in return. Politics doesn't work like that.

"We get trade agreements and technology. Both for free and in the case of the trade agreements heavily in our favour," Kyli answered with a smug grin.

"You've gotten good in your job," I said.

"Yeah," she said, however, not amused. She isn't over it that it's my fault that she's queen.

"And who do I have to thank that for?" She asked sarcastically.

"Of course it's thanks to me, your friendly awesome and especially lazy goddess from next door. Offerings and other sacrifices have to come in form of baked, cooked or roasted chicken," I said enthusiastically and Ilza snickered, to which I shortly after followed.

"Do you even know how much chicken our citizen consume? A priestess came up with the funny idea to follow you in your eating habits. Since then chicken is something that is regularly eaten on Sunday. We had to build whole farms specially for chicken," Kyli said in an emotionless tone.

"Really? That's not good," I said shocked.

"Why isn't that good?" Asked Ilza.

"It would mean that there is less chicken for me if everyone eats it," I said gravely and Kyli face palmed.

"You know, this gesture is one of the best things you've ever shown me. It perfectly describes how I feel most of the time I speak with you," Kyli said in resignation.

"Aww, I love you too," I said and hugged her.

"Yes yes, now please find out why these demons come from Schwarzwald and give the dimensional pockets Rilo when you're going," Kyli said and returned the hug.

"Sure thing, bye. See you later Lilia," I said, gave Lilia a short kiss and left with Ilza and Drull in tow.

We quickly packed our things and then flew to the elfen capital and then visited Rin`Tu.

"Yo!" I said loudly as I walked inside Rin`Tu's office, completely ignoring her guards and everybody else who tried to stopped me.

"Clair?" Rin`Tu asked confused as she saw me.

"Yes, I, Ilza and Drull came because we heard of some trespassers. Who came through your forest," I said and sat down on a chair.

"I'm terribly sorry your Majesty. She simply walked in and knocked everyone out who tried to stop her," said the secretary, whose name I was to lazy to remember, in panic.

"No problem Ka`Fo, I'll handle it," said Rin`Tu with a smile and dismissed her.

"She's nice, tried to stop us for over five minutes," I said as she closed the door. Drull found the whole situation hilarious and snickered the whole time.

"I can imagine. So you've already heard of it?" Asked Rin'Tu after a moment.

"Yes, these demons are now racking havoc in Kirk and Raska. I want to know how they came through the mountain and why they weren't stopped by your troops," I said and waited for her to answer.

"They went through the abandoned mines of the dwarfen city. And we didn't stop them, because we have an none aggression pact that also allows them to walk through our territory if they intent to attack the human countries," she said after sorting her thoughts.

"Thought so, can you tell me where this dwarfen city was?" Me.

"I already know that Master," said Drull from the side.

"Okay, never mind that then. We will go then," I then said.

"Wait, a messenger from the demons said that they lost a lot of soldiers inside these mines. There is something that killed a lot of their soldiers and they only came out, because they rushed through it and had maps," warned Rin`Tu.

"Thanks, we will look at it nevertheless," I said and we left.

A few hours later we found the main entrance inside the old dwarfen city. Good that we manage to find it, bad for us that it had a cave in and was blocked. A bunch of fairly fresh graves was also in front of it.

"You think they destroyed the entrance?" I asked.

"Yes, they must've been afraid of whatever they hindered to come out," answered Drull.

"Smells like an adventure," came from Ilza, who was eager to find out what was apparently dangerous enough to block their supply line.

"I know of a different entrance, it's further in the west," said Drull and flew of.

We also found the second entrance shortly after. It was a 5x5 metre big hole. Carved into a square.

"Well then, let's go inside," I said and made a few light blobs who will illuminate our way.
