An adventure awaits

Once Thyre accepted, the gods summoned the spirit.

Thyre fell to the ground, her mind and soul being enveloped by the powers of Yggdrasil. Her body radiated a strange aura of light similar to that of the full moon. A spirit in the form of a bear appeared in front of her and approached her, merging with her in both thoughts and feelings. Memories of past flooded her mind and she was Thyre no longer. Not really.

It was like waking up from a long dream. At first, you don't know who you are, where you are or what has come to pass, but then suddenly everything overflows you and you are awake. That is exactly how this made her feel - alive and awake.

Then her body started to shift, turning darker and larger. Brown hairs grew all over her body. Her entire posture changed and claws grew on her hands. It all happened in a matter of seconds, and then finally, she was a large brown bear with many scars and sacral markings on her skin. Only her eyes stayed the same jade green they had always been. She took a moment to adjust.

The gods bowed to her.

"You are no longer Thyre Frothidottir, but Yrsa, goddess of the forest, protector of men, bringer of justice and guardian of nature. Welcome back, old friend," said Odin, with a smile on his aged face.

Yrsa shifted back to her human form, which now looked just a bit different. She had dark runes etched into her skin and a bear tattoo running down her back. She bore all the wounds and scars she had aquired long ago. There was a scar on her left cheek, below her eye, a long one that spread from her hip to her knee and two scars decorated her palms. Her hair was different too, now bearing a shade of light copper as opposed to her normal dark brown.

"I've missed you, my friends, but I feel I've been away for too long. I feel...strange. Reborn," Yrsa said.

"You will get used to your mind in no time, but your skills and magic need practice. If you agree, I can help you with that," Skadi chuckled and offered her a hand. Yrsa looked at it for a moment and slowly raised her hand, tears appearing at the corners of her eyes once she felt the familiar coldness of it. She smiled and gripped it tighter, gettting up.

"We have much to speak of," Skadi whispered.

"Your homestead still stands, Yrsa. Perhaps it is best you restore your past there," Odin said, raising his hand as a portal appeared in front of them. Blue light flooded through the oval shape floating in the air.

"Blessed be, my friends," Yrsa smiled as they passed through and within seconds, they arrived someplace familiar. Someplace that felt like home.
