The Third Day Is The First Day

Eve's POV

Three days before I reach the place called Banes Field Town. At first I thought this place will be like the quiet countryside but I was wrong. Banes Field is almost like a small city except for the luscious greenery of the mountain ahead that gives a countryside vibe. There's a lot of boutiques, shops, and groceries in every corner. And I thought I also pass by a cinema a while ago. "Well, not so boring after all!". I muttered to myself.

"Analee Sanchez, #74 Willow Street.". As I read again the name of the person I need to see and also her address. I saw a cab and tried to call it then it stop.

"Good morning young lady, where do you wanna go?". Asked the bubbly driver.

I smiled a little and gave him the paper I am holding. "Would you happen to know where this place is?".

The man read it and gave me a warm grin. "Oh you're going to the Sanchez!". Then a full smiled shown on his face.

I was surprised. The person I was looking for is quite known.

"Yes I am sir.... I'm glad you know them". As I hopped in inside his cab.

"Well they are locals here and we don't have much tourists or other people popping in this town of ours so we almost know each and everyone here". The happy driver, that's what I want to call him starting today, starts to talk about his beloved town and I just listened to his story.

The ride is smooth and I enjoy all his stories about the locals and how Banes Field was founded. I found out it was once called Wolfsbane Land because there's a lot of that plant popping in every corner of the town. Until one day it all slowly die and none of it grows again in this place. That's why they changed the name to Banes Field Town.

And I also found out that there's only one big school in this place called Central Banes High. The other schools are located five hours ride from here. I asked about any college academy in the area but the happy driver said that the nearest college university is almost near the city and it will take you at least a halfday ride.

That means I can only stay here for about a year till I finish my senior year and live in the so called city to finish college. 'How ironic is that'.I thought.

"Here we are... #74 Willow Street.". The happy driver said and gave me a full grin.

I handed him my payment and wave me goodbye with a smile. And because of that a full blown smile was plastered to my face. This is the first time I smiled genuinely to a stranger. And if the happy driver knows me well he will be surprised.

I stand outside a two story high house with a balcony on the second floor. It looks so simple but there's a homey feeling radiating from it. I calmed myself and think for a while. I came here to see this Anna Sanchez without any notice. I hope she won't just shove me off her house. I chuckled for that thought. "Of course she might, I'm a stranger for goodness sake!". Then I just shook my head.

I travelled three days and I believed that on this third day will be the first day of my new life. "And who am I kidding... I never trusted anyone except Maya. Why do I expect for them to trust me. Like they will just accept me easily". I am now officially arguing with myself like a lunatic. But somehow I really need to do this. I need to try to find out if they are willing to accept me. My feet starts to move and I found myself in front of the Sanchez house. I took a deep breath before I ring the bell.

I heard footsteps coming to the door. I saw how the knob turns and a red hair girl stands in front of the door. "Yes?".

I felt a lumps stocked inside my throat and my voice was pushed back from my mouth. I swallowed and tried to clear my mouth. I raised my head and looked at the red hair girl in front of me in the eye, which I don't usually do. I hate looking in the eyes of other people. I feel like they always judge me or is it because of my conscience. Because I took several lives that's not supposed to be taken yet without even blinking. As if they knew that killing is my second nature.

"Mum!.... Mum come quick!".

I was pulled out of my trance instantly and also was alarmed by the sudden yelling of the red haired girl. She was calling her mother and I wondered why.

"What is it honey?". A voice of an older woman came from inside.

"Looked she's here!".

I was dumbfounded by the reaction of the girl. 'Is she talking about me or am I not the only one standing here right now'. I asked myself and turn around to see if there's someone standing at my back but to my surprise, none.

My head snap back when I heard a voice who seems to halted whatever she wants to say. "Maya?". That's the only word came out from my mouth and I was frozen steady from where I stand. The woman looked like exactly my mother Maya. My tears fell and I cried like I was in pain.
