Chapter 18 - Family Day
Many thoughts roamed thorough the Cartel's couple that night as they tried to sleep,while Juni's thought was filled with the thought of whether he hadn't done something wrong by taking the Angela to her hotel room drunk while another part of him.wondered why she would get so drunk,was she a drunkard or was there a reason that she had to drink ?
On the other hand,Carmen was thinking of why he would lie to her about why he missed family night,he never did before while her another part of her wanted to question her husband right away,she admonished herself brashly saying he must have had a good reason for hiding that fact from her.What if he was planning a surprise for her?after all it was their anniversary month though it was not due anytime soon.she shook her head and tried hard to get some sleep.
Juni woke up the next morning at 5am always to find Carmen ofcourse still in bed but something was different,she wasn't snuggled against him or at the very least put her hands around him like she did on Saturday mornings,he wondered if something was wrong as he stood up and went through the morning routine of washing her face and teeth then he dressed in a joggers and a sleeveless t-shirt .
When he was done at 5:25am,Carmen was still asleep peacefully,he wondered why but before he could bother himself any further,he quickly went down the stairs and got himself a water bottle, filling it with water,he put on his running shoes and headed out soon after.
When Juni returned from his neighborhood run with sweat trickling down his face around 7:32am,Carmen was up already and was sitting at the kitchen counter making coffee for herself.
"Morning baby"He said as he got inside and tried to kiss her but she moved her face sideways still turning it into a peck
Juni pouted as she explained "Morning to you too babe but I will rather you go take your bath first"
"But you haven't bathed yet either"he pointed out
She chuckled as she replied "Two wrong doesn't make a right, sweetheart meaning just because we are both dirty makes the kiss clean" he tried to interrupt but she put on of her fingers against his lips as she added "plus,you are sweating heavily".
"Okay fine, barrister.you win"He chuckled and replied raising his hands in surrender as she backed off and headed up.the stairs before adding "Be a sweetheart and make me a cup of coffee,would you?"
She let out a laugh at that and replied aloud just as he disappeared from her view"I'm always a sweetheart Juni,but yes,that I can do"
Juni laughter echoed off the stairs .

Juni took a quick 5mins bath and headed out to his room just in time to hear his phone buzz
It was a message from Angela which reads
"I could have called but I'm kinda too embarrassed right now😅,thanks for yesterday,I got the idea from the nanny,its appreciated "
He chuckled as he slipped into a jean shorts ,t-shirt and added a jacket before replying to the message
"Good morning,it's all cool ma'am,glad I could be of help and how's the hangover?"
He didn't wait for long before she replied
"After 3 cups of coffee,I'm quite refreshed"
He replied back immediately
"Wow, thought you didn't like coffee?😅"
He found himself his house slippers as her message came in again as he chuckled
"That's what I get for getting drunk stupidly"
He became serious though as he replied
"Is something wrong?"
"No but just…huh I would like if you could keep this to yourself and let's maintain a professional relationship,Mr Cartel"he message tone changed almost immediately.
"My lips are sealed and ofcourse,this holds not importance to our business"Juni replied so as to.let her know he wouldn't threaten her with it.
"Okay."She replied and that was it
He was still staring at the phone wondering what he could reply when Carmen came in crossing her arms around her as she asked him suspiciously
"With that serious face,not going to work again,are you?"
After all,there were times when he had to work on Saturdays.
He relaxed and smiled at her as he quickly tucked his phone away to reassure her "No babe, ofcourse not,I want to make up for missing yesterday's family night with a family day today"
"Really?"She asked smiling
"Yeah,is Derek up yet?"He replied smiling back
"No ,he slept late which means he won't be up anytime soon, leaving us some alone time"she said as she moved to stand in front of him and leaned up to kiss him but Juni put his finger on her lips as she stared at him in confusion
"First,you have not bathed yet .Two just because I'm clean and you are dirty doesn't make the kiss clean,plus you are sweaty from your gym workout downstairs,I don't want all that on me"he explained chuckling
She backed down as she hit his chest playfully
"Damn you"
"You love me" he said still chuckling as she stripped down to her underwear to go take a bath
"That I do" she said quickly and kissed him on his lips just before he could react then sprinted off to the bathroom and locking the door behind her
"You little minx"He yelled while laughing outside the bathroom door
"I love you too always" he finally added as left and made his way downstairs to get his coffee.
