Odd comfort

Something didn't feel right.

In fact, things haven't been feeling right for the past few days to Crystal. And of course it had to do with Hunter.

When they first moved into his condo, Crystal had thought he'd be breathing down her neck every second of the day whenever Sakura was out of sight. She'd imagined him literally following her around like a mother duck. As he had said, he was obsessed with her.

But for the past few days for some reason, Hunter had been ignoring her. Completely not paying the tiniest attention to her that she was starting to even question her existence. And she didn't know why.

He'd left her hanging in the kitchen that night by teasing her and manipulating her into yearning for him. She didn't know how he did it. But he did. She actually craved for his touch that night. For his warmth, scent and caresses. But he barely even gave her a taste before he pulled away leaving her frustrated for various reasons. After that night, he'd been distant with her and Crystal wasn't really sure what to think about that.

This was what she wanted. This was what she'd been asking for him to do. To leave her alone. But now that he has, she couldn't help but feel disappointed and heart broken for some reason. She missed the way he'd stare at her as if he was some kind of hawk in his former life time. She missed the way he'd just grab her out of nowhere and kiss her, ignoring her protests. She would never admit it to him but the way he dominated and controlled her was something she found attractive.

Basically, she missed him and everything about him. Everything. But then again it was for the best that he stopped.

Sakura walks into the brunette's room with a light knock, stopping in her tracks when she spots Crystal trying to balance the light switch in the corner of the room. Failing with each attempt of course.

"Umm.." Sakura trails off folding her arms, totally amused by the younger girl still trying to balance the light switch. "Crystal.." Sakura calls out and the brunette answers with a soft hum. Still concentrating on the task at hand.

"It can't be done.." the blonde snickers as Crystal fails again on another attempt. The brunette groans in frustration, smacking the switch before leaning against the wall sulking.

She was bored. So she decided to once again to execute one of the items on the bucket list she made since she was a kid. Balancing a light switch. She'd been trying for over fifteen years now. She never gave up. And she still wasn't giving up anytime soon.

Sakura laughs again at the sulking girl leaning against the wall with a pout walking towards her. "If you're done being a pouty baby, can we go? We're going grocery shopping today. Remember?" Sakura says with a smirk as the girl grumbles. Getting off the wall to grab her phone on the bed.

"Don't worry. Better luck next time"

The trip to the grocery store was short as it was only a seven minutes trip. It also wasn't as eventful as Crystal had expected. It was just buying the food they needed since they were almost out of food stuffs back at the condo. It was just Hunter after all so coupled with the two girls now living with him, the food stuff were bound to finish early.

Crystal was already in the car by the time Hunter and Sakura were putting the groceries in the trunk. Munching on the bag of chips she bought from the store, she watches through the rare view mirror as the couple tease and laugh with each other. Her chest burns at the sight as she looks down at the bag of potato chips on her lap.

Be happy for them. Be happy for them, she repeats over and over in her head. This was what she wanted. A normal vacation with her cousin along with her faithful boyfriend. This was what she asked for.

But damn if the thought didn't bother her. The bastard had managed to make her fall for him against her will. And now he was completely ignoring her. And flirting with his girlfriend right in front of her was only making it worse. What was his motive exactly?

Crystal doesn't have time to think of the question when Hunter and Sakura enter the car both laughing at a joke Crystal was unaware of. They looked like the perfect couple. Hunter the tall dark and sexy Adonis and Sakura the gorgeous, hot Golden girl.

Crystal glances down at herself, for the very first time comparing herself with Sakura.

Sakura was tall, Crystal was average. Sakura was beautiful, Crystal was average. Sakura was smart, Crystal had to struggle most of the time to keep her grades up. Another average there. Sakura had the perfect set of white teeth. Crystal had buck teeth which she'd always felt a little bit self conscious of. It wasn't the Timmy Turner type. The one to peek out from her mouth. But definitely longer than the other teeth and she couldn't help but feel a little bit self conscious about it. No matter how many times people told her it was cute.

Sakura's nose was small and straight. Crystal had a button nose.

Basically Sakura was everything she was not. So she didn't blame Hunter for suddenly taking interest in his girlfriend more than her.

Like she'd suspected, he was only infatuated by her and nothing else. She shouldn't have gotten her hopes up.

"Oh! I forgot to get some tampons. I'm starting my period soon. Be right back!" Sakura exclaims just as Hunter starts the car. He turns it off once more once the blonde steps out of the car before leaning back in his seat.

Now Crystal was all alone in the car with Hunter as her stomach twisted with anticipation on what he would now.

Nothing. He does absolutely nothing.

Crystal is disappointed when Hunter puts on his earphones leaning his head back as he listened to the song he put on. He didn't even attempt to at least glance at her let alone talk to her. Just what the hell was wrong with him.

Pissed, Crystal snatches his phone as well as his earphones making the raven haired man turn around to face her with a 'what the hell?' Look.

Crystal doesn't say anything as she narrows her eyes at him. Hunter sighs, "Can I have my phone back?" He speaks politely and as always, Crystal could hear that he didn't mean it to be polite.

"What game are you playing Hunter?" The brunette asks folding her arms annoyed, "why are you doing this?".

Hunter gives her a confused look and it takes everything in her not to bite him. "I should be asking you that question Crystal. You're the one who snatched my phone while I was minding my own business" he says innocently making the girl scoff. Oh so back to name bases now?

"Stop acting as if you don't know what I'm talking about. Why have you been ignoring me for the past few days?" The brunette complains but Hunter maintains the innocent look as he shrugs, "you told me to stay away from you. I'm just doing what you asked" he grins lazily placing his chin on his palm.

"Now can I have my phone please?"

"No!" Crystal almost yells as he raises a brow at her. Clearly getting irritated.

Good. That was what she wanted. For him to feel what she was feeling right now.

"Remember what I told you about knowing how you talk to me bunny?" He says darkly making the girl almost shiver at the way his voice had deepened. But she couldn't help the small grin that almost stretched on her lips when he called her bunny. Which was a good thing. Another thing she would never admit to him was how she liked that nickname.

"Oh? What are you gonna do about it?" Crystal says with raised brows, holding up his phone with her right hand just out of reach. Hunter's thick brows furrow, and the brunette only hoped he'd caught on to what she was suggesting. She wanted him to 'punish' her. If that was even called a punishment.

To put it simple, she wanted a kiss from him. Because at the moment, she didn't really care about her morals or that it was the wrong thing to do. All she wanted was him. Oh how Hunter has seriously affected her.

"That's very evil of you bunny.." Hunter smirks, hand reaching out to the back of her neck making the girl flush. Heart racing in anticipation.

"You can keep the phone if you want" he says pulling away completely. Facing away from her. And once again for the nth time, Crystal is overwhelmed with disappointment.

Later that day, dinner was awfully awkward for the girl as the couple across from her wouldn't stop with the flirting. Cheeks red with embarrassment as she ate her food, remembering what had happened earlier today.

She couldn't believe she actually did that. She basically gave it away that had a crush on him and now it was as if she opened a gate way for him to crush her feelings as he pleased. The way he acted with Sakura tonight was completely different unlike all those other times.

The kisses were too much. The touches were too much. And the flirting was definitely over board. Sakura thought he was just in a good mood.

But Crystal knew he was only doing it all to make her jealous and hurt her feelings. Why? She didn't know. Perhaps as a pay back for hurting his own 'feelings' too by rejecting him in the past.

Feeling she couldn't take it anymore, she calls in for the night early. Saying a short but cold 'goodnight' before climbing up stairs to her room.

As she took her shower and got ready for bed, her head was completely clouded with thoughts of Hunter and how she hated him for making her fall for him. If he knew he didn't really like her that much in the first place, then why go all through that trouble to make her like him in the first place.

Crystal rolls to her side in her bed, fighting the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes. She hated him. She hated him so much and wishes she never met him that night. What was fate playing at exactly?

Sleep starts to take over as he eyes start to feel heavy. Thoughts of the golden eyed man momentarily forgotten as her mind starts to drift off to dream Land. But just as she was about to fall into darkness completely, the door to her room opens. Seconds passing before she feels her bed dip behind her and large arms engulf her small body. Her back pressed against a hard yet warm chest.

Crystal wanted to move away and ask the person to leave. She already knew who it was but she was too tired and sleepy to actually get him out of her room. And as she was about drift off, Crystal could have sworn she heard him whisper something against her neck.

"You're the only one, that makes them go away.." he whispers in an almost vulnerable way. A side to him that she was experiencing for the very first time.

Hunter was a lot of things. He was strange in his own way as well as enigmatic. He was also unpredictable and you could never know what he would do or say next. But despite all that, Crystal was still shocked to be experiencing this side of the man behind her for she didn't know he had it.

But what she didn't know was Hunter had similar impressions about her as well. Crystal was definitely unlike any girl he'd ever met before. It was like she had different personalities in one body. She was shy and timid sometimes. Then sharp and salty. Then blunt and sarcastic. He found it amusing that she showed that side even after he 'killed' a man right in front of her. Though he didn't exactly kill the man. He just made her think that way as he was full of dark humor. It was a paintball gun after all. He expected her to act scared the next time they met but he was surprised to see the way she confidently talked to him with even a hint of sarcasm.

It depended on her mood and he couldn't wait to find out the other personalities she had. If she ever finally accepted that she was his, he knew she'd be able to handle him and the screwed up life he lives in.

Though among those personalities he hoped she had the one of care and comfort because that was what he needed right now. The voices were tormenting him today and she was the only person to make them go away. As his arms tighten around her, he expected her to push him away and yell at him to leave. But he's relieved that she doesn't and only snuggles closer.

Hunter buries his head in the crook of her neck, flinching at the loud voices in his head that weren't planning on going away anytime soon. So as Crystal turns around to face him with a sleepy but confused look, he whispers once more into her hair.

"Please make them go away.."
