How they met

Kai stares at his back through the mirror with a dreamy look on his face. Remembering the events that happened hours ago this morning. There's a dazed smile in his lips as he scanned the marks on his back. The marks given to him by his Senpai. Kai reaches into his jeans, pulling out a blood stained rag. Raising it up to his nose, he gives it a sniff, his body going limp at the familair smell of cologne which was also known to him as Hunter's signature scent.

Hunter had thrown a small rag at him after he was done licking the blood off Kai's back, leaving the kitchen afterwards. After wiping his blood stained back with the rag, he found out that it smelled exactly like Hunter. And so, he kept it.

He'd also planned on never washing that rag. Ever.

Opening the closet right next to the mirror, he admires the collection inside. A collection of things he'd gotten from Hunter. It consisted to pictures, spoons, forks, cups, empty water bottles and other things Hunter had once used. Now he had a rag to add to his collection. How wonderful...

Closing the closet, he turns towards the mirror again, his eyes catching sight of a scar right above his hip bone. The very first mark Hunter had given him. Tracing the line, Kai grins remembering the moment as if it was yesterday.

He could remember the very day he arrived at the asylum. How terrified and scared he was. How lost and confused he felt. He did not belong here.

He was not supposed to be here.

He knew the reason why he was brought here. He burnt his mom alive and he had enjoyed it. But it wasn't his fault. She had tried to take his painting away from him.

Thirteen year old Kai glances around the hall way as the guards escorted him to his room. They finally stop at a door and that was when it was opened and he was pushed into the room. Making his frail body land on the floor.

It was quiet at first. And he almost thought he was alone. He could remember how loud his gasp had echoed when he looked towards the bunk in the corner of the room, catching sight of a young teenage boy not very much older than him with honey coloured eyes staring at him.

The boy's lean figure was laying on his back with his hands folded under his head. He had long messy hair, lips so pink they almost looked bee stung and his eyes were the most captivating thing of all as they glinted in the dark.

A dark scowl adorned his lips as he stared at Kai, and said boy couldn't help but squirm under his gaze uncomfortable. It felt as if he was sizing him up as he stared intently at the brown haired boy. Kai's hair color before he dyed it after. Moments pass before the boy finally turns away from him, laying on his side as Kai just sat there on the floor.

Kai could remember for the first few months, how Hunter had ignored his existence. He could also remember how scared of him he was. Especially the fact that Hunter liked to kill every rat or any other rodent for that matter that dared to step into their room.

He was terrified of Hunter then. The way he'd use his trusty pocket knife, stabbing the small animal over and over again before cutting it into pieces. Limp by limb until he was satisfied with his work. Kai could remember how he would shrink into the corner of the room watching the scene unfold. It was obvious the nurses nor the guards had no idea Hunter had such a weapon with him. And that only scared Kai further because even if he was to tell the guards about Hunter having a dangerous weapon, Hunter would still know it was him because Kai was the only one that knew he had a pocket knife. And there was no telling what he could do to him.

His obsession with Hunter started about two years after moving into the Asylum. He was having lunch in the cafeteria when two men approached him and started harassing him. He could remember how hard he was trying not to cry as they pushed him around. Acting as if it was playful but it was anything but. And that was when Hunter had stepped in.

Kai was surprised to see how terrified the two men looked when Hunter had approached the table. Immediately standing up when Hunter took a seat. They were about to leave when Hunter grabbed one of them by the caller, pulling the larger man down to his height.

"I. Will. Kill. You.... If you touch him again" Hunter had said. And Kai could remember how his heart had fluttered at the way Hunter radiated of dominance and power as he made the two men cower. All because of him.

Kai's obsession started from there. Only getting worse when Hunter started giving him small cuts on his bare skin as a hobby when he was bored. He'd just pull Kai down onto his lap, using his pocket knife to draw small patterns on his thigh as he hummed. Ignoring Kai's whines as he did so. The first ever cut being the one close to his hip bone.

"Keep still for senpai" Hunter had said, making Kai's cheeks flush. He liked that. The name suited him and ever since then, he stopped calling him by his name but Senpai instead.

Kai could also remember all the times that Hunter would have terrifying nightmares. Screaming in the middle of the night that Kai would jump off from the top bunk downwards to wake him up.

"Stop!"

"No!"

"No I'm not!

"SHUT UP!" Hunter would scream over and over until Kai manages to wake him up.

He could remember how Hunter would cling to him, holding him tight against his chest as muttered under his breath.

"It's not my fault, it had to be done"

"Its not my fault!"

"No! You're wrong" Hunter would repeat those things over and over again under his breath, clutching tight onto Kai as he did so. Several minutes later, he'd bury his head in the younger boys neck whispering softly.

"Make them stop"

"Please make them go away"

Kai couldn't make them go away, but he did everything in his power to comfort Hunter as best he could. Even if it took all night and he wouldn't get any sleep. Hunter was his senpai.

He could also remember the day Hunter was going to be released. He could remember how devastated he was feeling and how bad he wanted to just kill himself. Hunter was twenty at the time while he was sixteen. And at the time he didn't really know when he would be released. Or how many more years he was supposed to spend.

Though, Hunter had loosened the blow by giving Kai a number he scribbled on a piece of paper. Telling him to call the number imediately he was released. Of course two years later after he was released, he called the number Hunter gave him and he was surprised to hear that it was actually Hunter's personal number.

How giddy he felt.

That was when the real memories started. That was when he finally confessed to Hunter how he felt about him, despite knowing Hunter had a girlfriend at the time. He still wanted to try, but was disappointed when Hunter only smiled giving him a pat on the head.

Though that still didn't change the way Hunter acted around him. And he was great full for that. Hunter still have him tasks, missions and told him most of the plans he wanted to carry out. And most importantly, he still marked him from time to time.

Basically he knew many things about Hunter. And that alone, he was content with. For now.

Hunter was someone a person would be terrified of. And what makes him even more sinister is the way he's acted to damn innocent and normal when he was anything but.

Kai knew exactly who Hunter was. He's seen the real him over and over again before and even now sometimes. If those two girls knew what he knew, they'd be running for the hills as of now.

Hunter was someone you would call a monster. If you knew what he was capable of, as well as the things he's done, as well as the things he was planning on doing.

Hunter was a devil in form of an angel. A monster.

His monster.

And sooner or later. After everything has come to an end. After he's helped his senpai with a mission he's been trying to execute for a very long time now, he hoped Hunter would finally acknowledge him.

Or else, he'd have to kill him as well as himself, so they could be together in another life.

That was how far he was willing to go for his senpai.
