Chapter 5

I woke up early this morning. Earlier than usual and I still have classes for the day.

Yesterday, my day only became peaceful when I got home. My family is so worried but they don't bring the topic anymore. I don't know why but a situation like this should be reported to some kind of police right? Especially that my family name is known for our business. Also, they don't tell me how they know that I am at that place.

It is Monday evening when I got kidnapped and today is already Wednesday so It means that I started there for a day? Well nevermind, at least I got home safe.

I stood up and prepare myself for school. As my routine, I showered, fix my things, and ready to go. I am not putting on any makeups, it's not my thing.

I wear my shoes and get my glasses and I am now ready to go.

Fast right? Well, I move fast when I am not sleepy and for today, I woke up on my own. No Alarm clock, No Yaya Isabel.

Walking down our stairs, I saw my parents talking to someone. I slowed down my step and try to hear what they are talking about. The back of our visitor is all I can see, my parents are facing at my side so they saw me immediately.

"Mackie, your early sweetheart" my mother and father greeted me with a hug so I greet back.

I am smiling sweetly at them but when I saw who's the visitor is, my smile faded gradually.

Ugh. It was Janssen.

What is he doing here?

"Mom, where is Kuya?" I asked when I noticed that my older brother is not here in the living room or the kitchen.

"your brother leave early because he has a convention to attend at Baguio. Come, eat your breakfast" Mommy said while leading the way to the kitchen with Janssen and daddy at our back.

"How about Matt?" I asked again referring to my younger brother Alexius.

"Ow, your brother is still sleeping, his class is afternoon so just let him be" she answered before sitting at her place at the dining table.

I nod and look at my dad who's still talking to Janssen. I sat in my chair and start getting my food.

Janssen sat beside me, I didn't mind him and just continue to get my food. When I'm done I am ready to give him the plate so that he can take the food but I really can't bear to ask.

"What are you doing here?" I asked so he looked at my parents who also looked at me.

"What?" I asked them when I noticed that they are all looking at me.

Is it because of my question? If yes, then what's wrong? I have the rights, right?

"Mackie will talk about that later, for now, let's eat." Dad said so I gave the plate to Janssen.

He smiled at me but I just rolled my eyes at him. This guy is annoying me.

After eating breakfast, mom and dad said that I need to come with Janssen every time to make sure that I am safe. They also said that Janssen will take care of me.

"Mom, I can handle myself. I don't need anyone to take care of me you know that mom." I complain after our long discussion regarding "Janssen being my babysitter"

"Sweetheart this is for your good, please consider sweetie" In this situation, I cannot say no to my mother. Her feeling is so important to me, so even if I don't want to, I made a decision.

"Okay, Fine. I will go with him. BUT do not expect mom that I will be with him every time." I said and turn my back to them.

I go outside the house earlier than Janssen. Maybe my parents tell them something to him so it took a couple of minutes before he goes out.

I was shocked when Janssen takes a key out of his pocket. He goes to the car on the other side of the house and drives it towards my direction.

I went to the back to open the backseat of the car but it was locked. I moved to the other side but it was the same. I just stared at the air and then knocked on Janssen's window.

"What? Don't tell me you won't let me sit here either?"

I remember what happened yesterday. He almost cried when he saw me sitting in his chair.

"Go to the shotgun seat."

"What?"

"Are you deaf? I said go to the shotgun seat?"

"And why will I go there?"

"Where are you going to ride?"

"There," I said while pointing to the backseat.

"No, sit beside me. You'll just make me look like your driver" he muttered

"I thought you didn't want someone beside you?" I asked

"I prefer not to look like your driver," He said and closed the window.

I could do nothing but ride in the shotgun seat next to him. As soon as I got on, I straightened up and grabbed the seatbelt.

Before we could head our way to the school, I stooped him first.

"Wait. Do you have a license?" I asked him.

"Do I need one?" he asked back

"Of course you need it! You're going to pay if you get caught driving without a license!" I shouted at him.

"Then I will pay." he answered calmly

I smirked at him because of his answer. Damn that attitude. So brave huh?

We were just quiet and only music coming from the radio mediated between the two of us. No one speaks or tries to accompany the song because he is focused on driving and I am enjoying the view outside. The school is not too far from us but it seems like a very long time for reasons I do not know.

he was driving at the right speed but it seemed to be slow because maybe the car was running smoothly. Soon the car was parked in the school parking lot. I adjusted myself first before exiting. I was surprised when Janssen opened the door for me.

"Gentleman,"

I commented on what he did

"Yeah?" he asked,

"I thought you were just being gentle with the person you wanted? Are you sick now? Are you sick?"

I asked him while acting as if to touch his forehead.

"Did I say I don't like you"

after he said that he walked first.

While I was left here in the parking lot thinking about what he said.

Did I hear it correctly?
