I'd been in hospital for about three weeks. The doctors said it had been an induced coma, otherwise, there was a thin line between my life and death. 


I woke up to find a police officer right next to my bed. And ooh...my room was heavily guarded...police men moving from end to end in the corridors outside my ward. 


This was the last thing I needed honestly. Cause this was quite personal. The police would only make it worse for me. I watched as the sheriff grabbed his walkie talkie thing and talk to someone, silently hoping it wasn't one of Mamou's killer guys. " Sir, she's awake...I repeat the victim is awake."
