Chapter Twenty-Four

I had stayed like that for a while until I realized I was supposed to be in the tutor room before Ms Sewle entered. I knew I could not use the main route as she would most likely use it and looked at the cabinet in dismay. I walked towards it and opened it with one hand clapping over my nose. Making sure I could not smell.

The one place which I had found and assumed Tribble and Father had not known of was secret passages between rooms which were hidden in different ways. Only people with Parkinson blood could activate it and I found it around a few days ago. I had been playing with Freddie and was looking around the room and saw the cabinet.

I did not like it in that place by the window and wanted to move it but it was impossible so when I plopped my head into the cabinet and I was surprised to see that it lead to somewhere. The smell was horrible. I tried to ignore it and balance the bad smell out by putting my mint smelling sweater up to my nose. It did not work super well but well enough for me to venture in.

I walked in confident in my step and walked close to the stone walls. The longer I walked the closer I got the smell. I saw a small door which the smell came from. I knew that I should not be entering any room that reeks of bad smells but I could not help it.

Before I knew it I had my hand on the handle and twisted it open. It was dark at first and I was unable to see. What I did notice however what the bars in the opening of the door. I shifted my head forwards to see but then I heard a rustling. I felt a shiver go down my spine and cold sweat started breaking out on my back.

I swallowed deeply and tried to be brave and take a better look but the moment I took a step forwards I heard rustling chains. The sound of the chains seemed to run away from me the closer I got.

I took a deep breath, I had studied magical theory for a long time and I should be able to use magic if I could just channel it. I thought of Lumos and Nox. I felt my magic go through my body like small little creeks, I just had to focus it as a wand would do for me. I put my hands up towards the bar and lit the cell up. Light shining brightly in my palms.

I nearly jumped in excitement which was quickly dampened after I saw what was inside the cell. blood on the ground and in the corner a creature hiding from the light with their hands. It was crouching away, it was hard to identify what it was as it was covered in blood and dirty clothing.

"What are you?" I asked. The creature finally looked up at the light and looked me in my eyes.

"I am-"
