Ella's POV]
I instantly rushed to follow the scent.
"Maybe you shouldn't," Gabe-Remus stopped me by gently grabbing my arm. Stronger electricity ignited at his touch, but again I ignored it; my brain must be playing tricks on me. I can't even think straight anymore. I could see his eyes darkening for a second like looking hungry, but again it could have been the light playing a trick on me. I poisoned myself with wolfsbane, then almost got tricked into a mating relationship with a hunter. Even my wolf is on a comma because of the wolfsbane, no wonder I am having sensory hallucinations. Despite my reasoning of the strange sparks I felt at his touch, I could not help but feel more anxious because of his actions.
"LET ME GO!" I screamed at him, he starred at me in surprise before letting me go. "Is professor Gabriel here?" I asked him in a calmer tone, realising how irrationally I might have sounded by shouting at him.
"Yes, he is here,"
"What did you do to him?" I asked concerned, is he really chained in that dark place "What did you do to my mate?"
"Antonella, he is not your true mate."
"Yeah, my wolf says otherwise, not that I care much for mates. But you can't just punish someone innocent because you want to kill me!" I snapped at him.
"He is far from innocent, Ella. And I'll never hurt you!"
"Let me see him!" I demanded fiercely, staring at him like I would burn him alive.
"Fine, but you have to promise me not to touch him at all. Otherwise, I can't let you see him." Remus negotiated.
"Fine, I agree." I snapped at him annoyed. Why on Earth am I putting up with his requests?
"Before you see him, I have to let you know that what you'll see might hurt you deeply." He warned me. Duh? Due to the mate pull of course I'll not feel good seeing him suffer like that.
"Like I am not expecting it, you're keeping him chained after all, aren't you?"
"This is not what I mean." I followed him anxiously down some steep steps. The pictures from my dreams were perfectly matching the dark cold hallway, the cold stone steps, and even the smells. I gasped in surprise. "What is it?" Remus asked me.
"Is too dark in here," I replied, justifying my gasp. He instantly produced some blue light from his hand lighting the path.
"Are you also a witch?" I asked curious, I did see the spell he used to change his identity, but now seeing a bright blue fire burning in his palm like is nothing made me wonder who is the man walking in front of me.
"No, I am a primordial, just like you. You also have more magical powers than a regular werewolf and are very likely to also be immortal. At the moment your powers are suppressed because of your use of wolfsbane. Once this clears out of your system, you'll be able to discover your special powers."
"How come I am a primordial? Nobody from my family is a primordial?"
"Your mother had dormant genes of an immortal primordial, because your father is a third generation pure blood alpha the dormant gene activated in you, and you were born a primordial."
"But my grandparents are not primordials, not even alphas; they were gamas; this doesn't make any sense."
"That's because your mother's father is not the man you call grandpa. Your mother's father is the man in front of you." Remus informed me, right when we reached where he keeps Gabe chained. I gagged, how can that be true, my mate is my grandparent? What an Earth had the moon goddess planned? I felt my stomach rise and the room spinning. I momentarily lost my footing tripping over some metal bowls which echoed with a loud ring in the dark bare hall room.
"Who's there?" The same guttural voice from my dream asked. Another wave of nausea washed over me, and I stepped further away holding on the wall.
"You're awake, good!" Remus smirked, "I can now make good use of the silver mirror!" Remus stated turning the fire he was holding into a spherical shape and making it float high in the air. Now I could see how weakly the man appeared. Large dark circles were resting under his eyes and his skin had a sickly glow to it. When his eyes met Remus's, he shuddered.
"King Romulus?" professor Gabriello whined.
"Ierudiah," Remus snickered at the man, "very long time had passed since we last saw each other, ai?"
"Your majesty, please spare me. I'll do whatever you want me too!" Ierudiah begged, tears watering his eyes. Remus furrowed his eyebrows in question.
"I want to show Ella, who you are to her. You might not even know it." Remus stated uncovering a large brightly shinning mirror. The mirror looked to be at least several centuries old. The frame of the mirror had a beautifully sculpted frame that seemed to be polished in gold leaf. I found Remus's choice of words odd, but stood to attention, nonetheless. Is he really my grandfather? And why is his name different, and how come he called Remus king? I sat myself on the cold floor carefully watching the display in front of me. Remus dragged Ierudiah closer to the mirror and begun chanting strange words. At his words the mirror's reflection begun to change. The first scene showed two children playing with each other, the children looked identical, and somehow resembled Remus. Remus's eyes opened in surprise seeing the mirror's reflection. Then the reflection changed showing Remus, with long hair and long beard in ancient clothing seating on what seemed to be a throne, the scene was a close-up and looked like it was filtered through someone's eyes. The reflection jumped again to a blurry dark view of a pair of bloody hands, a quick flash of Remus's face was on a close-up with the bloody hands, a laugh echoed after the reflection went dark. Remus clenched his fists tight; I could see his jaw tense. Was the hurt man him?
"Tell me, how did you know Elena Lombardi?" I widened my eyes in surprise at Remus's question. Is he asking about my grandma? I trained my eyes instantly to the mirror. A flash of a beautiful young woman smiling in the sun with the colosseum in the background appeared on the mirror's reflection.
"Was she your mate?"
"No, she wasn't."
"Wasn't she already mated?"
"What did you do to her?" I asked Ierudiah anxious to get to the answer quicker. Remus seemed to take a drag to his interrogation. The mirror changed its reflection again, the same young woman was seating on a couch reading a book, when she suddenly startled.
"How did you get in here?" The woman asked standing up and trying to cover herself with the loose cardigan she was wearing.
"Your door was opened," Ierudiah's voice replied in a cocky tone.
"The door was locked," She snapped back at him. "Why are you here, Ierudiah?
"Why do you think, Elena?" The man replied approaching her, a low growl of a sinister note escaped his chest. Elena backed up and fell back on the couch, Ierudiah trapped her between his arms. "How can you resist me? Am I not much better than your mate?" Ierudiah's voice asked in a low tone, trapping her body between his arms. "I am going to take you now, woman! No one can reject me and get away with it!" He warned her.
"Please, I am mated, I beg you please!" Elena struggled against him, but Ierudiah didn't care, he ripped her clothes off like a beast."
"That's enough!" I said struggling to keep myself from either violently lunching at Ierudiah or throwing up at the fact that the man who raped my grandma is now my faithed mate. Remus stopped the spell and covered the mirror.
"Elena, gave birth to Georgina, which was your daughter, and your mate's mother." Remus informed Ierudiah in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Nah, really? No wonder I find her so beautiful!" Ierudiah replied to the news with a large grin on his face, "my granddaughter is beautiful, I can't wait to bed her!" He continued winking at me. I couldn't help but feel sick at his remarks, I covered my mouth and run up the stairs to wherever it could lead me to a bathroom.
"You're a monster!" I hear Remus remark before what seemed to be a strong punch to Ierudiah's face.
