Chapter 9 #Rose’s Granddaughter

Dominic's P.O.V.

Today is first day of my fourth and last year of college. Well, that goes without saying that today is important. I get up earlier than usual because of our tradition. Me and my younger sister have a tradition that every first day of college we go and come back in same car and then directly go to Sofie's café. Then we go around and have fun in all the places in the city. We do that since we were in middle school.

After getting ready I head towards the dining table for breakfast. My dad is out of town for business. He is almost out of town because of his business. He almost also takes mom with him and this happen to be one of rare times when he didn't take mom and she is at home. My dad cannot live without mom. Usually, it's only me and Rebekah that way.

After breakfast and a small talk. I first drove Rebekah to SDI.

While driving to college Rebekah was chatting or should I say gossiping when she suddenly turned towards me and said "guess who is the new fresher in my college?"

"I don't know and I don't care" I said Indifferently.

"Oh, come on your so-called rival studies in our university at least show some interest in SDI matters, even if its fake, anyways do you remember mom's favourite actress."

"Who? Rose Phiris?"

"Yes. Apparently, the granddaughter is also one of this year's freshers."

"The one who is supposed to be very low-key and gorgeous. Even more gorgeous than her grandmother was in her prime?" I asked with my one eyebrow raised.

"Yes" she answered.

"I remember Rose's daughter had married a man from a humble background. Is she a scholarship student?"

Among all the students at SDI only one percent are scholarship. If she is a scholarship that means she is rather smart and academically good.

Rebekah shook her head and denied "No, resources say that her grandmother provided for her fees."

Our conversation ended at that. After that our ride was only filled with silence. I wish I could somehow console Rebekah but I cannot do anything my hands were tied. I know she would be not feeling exactly ecstatic to go to college not after what had happened last year but she would somehow cope up and move on from that son of bitch.

We first reach SDI.

"See you later Bekah"

"Bye and don't call me Bekah" She says while glaring at me.

I just gave her ear-splitting grin and drive towards my own college.

In my college there is elite group of students. There five students their including me. We don't need to attend all the classes but do independent study. We have our own study room for that. Once a month we have an expert lecture us. Sometimes it's a famous politician, actress, scholar, anyone who is amazing in their field of expertise. The five students in elite are selected by their aptitudes.

Although SDI also has a similar group but they are chosen due to completely different reason. Unlike us they are chosen by how much wealthy they are. And how much their parents invested in school or you could say how much they invested in getting their children's comfort.

I am not exactly a big fan of SDI student system. According to them even if a rich and powerful student beat a another fellow not so rich and powerful student till, they are almost dead it doesn't matter much if they just compensate his or her family properly.
