Chapter 19 # Hot chocolate and official start

Today the weather has gotten colder than yesterday. So, I decided that when it will be break, I will run across the campus and bring my purse to buy some hot chocolate for myself and Kara after all she did give up her coffee for me. And after that she had to even endure professor boring's lecture without coffee too as the lecturer who was supposed to conduct the class was absent. Poor girl.

When the first lecture finally ended, I didn't wait for anyone or anything I just grabbed my bag and walked as fast as I can towards the girl's dorm. I reached my room and then took out my small brown purse from my closet. And then made my way to canteen. Today for the first time I am feeling unhappy that our campus is so big. By the time I reached cafeteria I was already out my breath. Huffing and puffing I ordered two hot chocolates with some cookies and then I made my way towards Kara's class which was thankfully nearby. As I reached there, I saw her using her phone while walking towards where ever she wanted to go I shout behind her.

"Hey Kara!"

She stops and turns around and walks towards me.

"I see you are doing better. Did you catch up on some sleep during your class?"

"I did. And I bought you some hot chocolate with some cookies as thank you for you."

As her class has just finished today everyone was roaming around in the hallways. When some of them saw me, a senior bringing her drinks they looked at her strangely. And a one mean girl also commented grumpily.

"Why is everybody bringing her thinks to drink today?"

Ooh! Somebody else also brought her something to drink today before me.

I gave her an inquiring look. And she said,

"Let's talk at bleachers while drinking hot chocolate."

We both walked towards the bleachers and thankfully they were also nearby right at left side of cafeteria is football ground and at side of its bleachers where we are headed right now.

Five minutes later we both sat down on bleachers while sipping on our drinks and start my inquiry.

"Somebody else also brought you a drink too."

"Yes, and it was a very much needed coffee a man in his early twenties came in a suit bringing me coffee delivery. And safe to say that he was quite handsome."

"That explains the jealous looks you were getting. Well, who send it?"

Well, that was unexpected.

"It was Dominic the guy we met at Sofie's café."

Now that is some gossip, I knew he was interested in her from the start. I smile and give her a suggestive look and speak.

"Looks like we have a ship."

She gives me her best I am annoyed look and says,

"No, you don't. and I am not interested in him."

"For now. And anyways he is Dominic and who doesn't like him. I mean he is practically perfect."

When I say this, it is literally written on her face that she is saying "seriously"

"Do you like him?"

"No"

I say this with a defeated sigh. I know Dominic is an amazing guy but I don't like him that way. And I already have someone I like who is out of my league and I am not supposed to have feelings for him. Whatever.

At the Saint Lucia

Dominic decides to contact his old friend asks them to hangout with him. He texts Caleb. Yes, Caleb and Cal are his family friends. We have known each other way before Kyle arrived at Sarendilla. Even though we don't hangout as much as we used to do in past, we do sometimes hangout when a certain asshole is not present in the city.

So, I text him.

"Hey let's hangout together this weekend."

"I am busy"

"Well just so you know Rebekah is friends with your girl Myra and she is thinking about inviting her and her roommate too."

"And you are going out with Rebekah and her friend's roommate. Since when did you have so much free time?"

Now is he trying to interrogate me when I am helping him out. Dude you gotta appreciate people's effort. I helping him out to spend time with girl you like and he is questioning me. Just so he knows he isn't getting an answer from me. I like Kara and that is none of his business.

"Does it matter. Are you in or not?"

After few seconds on the other side.

Caleb decides that he should go as it is his best chance to spend time with Myra and remove some of the tension between them too and Kyle is also not in the town to get angry at him for hanging out with his rivel. And even Cal will get to spend some time with Rebekah. It was a complete win-win situation for him and his twin brother. So, he replies positively.

"Count me and Cal in."

Myra should have known that she wouldn't be able to ignore him for long. Especially not in the city where he has most power and connections and can make her easily come to him herself. It's just that I gave her sometime alone and didn't took extreme measures. But my patience is also running thin and it is time to confront her properly.

Suddenly I my cell phone started ringing in my hand again. I look down and it's Kyle calling. I pick up.

From the other side Kyle calls his friend Caleb on his cell phone he is standing just outside his mother's hospital ward where she is sleeping as her surgery was a success and she is out of danger. As he finally had some free time, he decided to inform his friends.

"Hello. Caleb."

"Listening."

"My mom is out of danger now."

"Good to hear that how is her recovery going."

"She is doing better than the doctor expected."

"That's good to hear. Anything you want me to do?"

"Yes actually. Can you take care of Kara? She is new there so can help her out if she faces some kind of problem."

Caleb wanted to tell him so much about Dominic maybe having an interest on new girl but somehow the words got stuck in his throat and he didn't say it. And just replied positively about taking care of her for his sake and hung up.

He was feeling guilty for hiding this from his dear best friend but even if knew he still wouldn't be able to do something as Dominic is here and he is far away there in L.A., and as his good friend I shouldn't increase his worries and let him focus on helping his mother recover properly. By repeating these thoughts repeatedly his guilty diminished.
