The Investigation - Part 2

Jin gently touched the tree right after which he realized something.

'Poison...'

'Was it poison that killed the tree?'

The tree was completely lifeless. He wondered if that was done by some sort of poison because without that, the tree couldn't have just died.

"But..."

However such a poison couldn't have been used to kill all the trees that were present in the hill.

Because doing that would inevitably require more than 1 ton amount of the poisons which couldn't have been brought to the area without a anyone's notice unless and until the person had some sort of storage ring.

Furthermore, if such a poison was indeed used then the nearby trees and other areas should have also been affected because such a poison travels in air.

However when he saw the nearby area, everything was perfectly fine which was highly impossible with such type of poisons.

Also, if poisons were used then it's residues or some contents had to be left on the trees body, but there was nothing like that which confused him even more.

"Something is definitely weird... these effects that are seen on the trees cannot be of some poison..."

He then looked at the small and young birds that were lying on the ground.

He lowered himself and touched the birds too right after which he channeled a little bit of mana into their body.

"As I expected... the effects are similar!"

"..."

The lady and the camera man were continuously staring at Jin who was lost in his own thoughts.

It seemed like something was bugging him a lot and he wasn't able to figure out what exact happened.

"Miss Rosy, what do you think... what might have happened here?", the camera man stared at the lady and asked that in a low voice.

"I have no idea Mr. Jelal. I'm new to these works but I'm pretty sure that this scene is something that has probably happened for the first time!"

The camera man nodded to what Rosy said and both of them continued to whisper and ask each other about the scene.

Even Jin was confused after looking at the area when suddenly he heard what Rosy said which gave him some sort of clue.

"It's as if... they were all killed. Their energy has been sucked, that's what could have happened...", was what she said in a low voice but Jin ended up hearing as he was walking towards them subconsciously.

"Huh? What did you say?", he paused and asked Rosy while his eyes were wide opened.

"Eh?", Rosy was surprised to see Jin appear suddenly and ask her something.

"What did you tell just now?", he asked again.

"That... they were killed?", she said with a low hesitating voice.

"No! After that! What did you say after that!?", he asked while placing both of his hands on her shoulders.

She felt a bit uncomfortable and ended up saying in a single go, "Their energies were sucked up!"

"...", he kept staring at her for sometime while she was trying to avert her gazes.

"..."

"Haha... I finally understand what happened...", Jin then smiled and let her shoulders go after a few minutes.

When Rosy and Jelal heard him laugh and say that, they knew that he might have indeed found the cause of what had happened.

"Can you tell me what exactly happened Sir Jin?", the camera man asked when he found that Rosy was a bit hesitant right now after what had happened.

"..."

However it seemed as if Jin didn't hear them and was lost in his own thoughts yet again.

That was probably because he had finally figured out what exactly had happened.

He then touched the trees, the birds and the small kittens that were present there who were all dead.

'It's exactly as they she said... it seems as if their energies were sucked off...'

'And that energy is none other than the life energy... or THE LIFE FORCE!'

He finally realized the fact that the life force from all the life forms present there was sucked out and that too quite perfectly.

It made him flinch and made him realize that this was a serious problem indeed which he had to discuss with the other high rankers.

He turned back and almost instantly walked with haste and wanted to leave through the path way from which he had entered from the first when suddenly Rosy and Jelal stopped him and asked about the news for which they had come.

"The matter is serious... it would be better if you don't publish this as a recording...", he said with a dominating tone which was their first time hearing after such a time.

Both of them broke a cold sweat when they heard that right after which he said, "However, the news can't be stopped."

"It would be better if you really report this but I want no exaggerations...", right after he sad that he left almost immediately.

All the other reporters who were eagerly waiting to either interview him or ask about what had happened also missed the opportunity since he didn't even bait an eye towards them and went and sat in the car right after which he drove it away.

The reporters were just left alone all of a sudden. They were just blanking at the empty space that was right in front of them.

Now they recalled their true reason for which they had come and many of them rushed yet again towards the area to see if they could enter.

Since the hill was not that tall, the only visible part was it's top where al they could see was some dead trees which they didn't think as something important.

Some of them started to tell about how Jin left in haste and started to exaggerate even more than earlier which was indeed annoying due to which many of them started to think that all the news shown were fake.

It was the same for the news that Rosy had taken care of. People thought that it was some scene which they created themselves since they heard that no one was allowed to enter the area.

However among those citizens, there was someone who believed that.

"Ha... So this is in news now? Man... I really can't do anything in this human world...", Jay was wearing a black jacket which had a hood that covered his head.

He then just walked away as if he was going somewhere else after staring at the T.V.s that were placed in front of an Electronics store where news was being broadcasted.
