The ending of a crazy day

Three hours later I woke up to two people yelling. I saw Twilight sitting on the bed crying. I couldn't just lay in bed and do nothing so I got up as quickly as possible to comfort her. A minute afterward her father came into the room. 

Night~ You! Get the hell out of my house! 

Dante~ Can you tell me what's wrong? 

Night~ YOU WERE IN BED… WITH MY DAUGHTER! GET OUT! 

I didn't want to escalate the issue by rebelling against him so I chose to leave and to talk to Twilight later when I'm at home. I wrapped my arms around Twilight and kissed her before I left. 

Dante~ I'll talk to you later ok Twi. 

Twilight~ Okay… 

I started to leave the room but Twilight's mother velvet entered and stopped me. She gave me a mean look like she was mad at me for something. 

Velvet~ What's your name? 

Dante~ I'm… Dante ma'am. 

Velvet~ How much do you love our daughter?

Dante~ I'd give up everything for her… even my abilities… 

Velvet~ You have powers too? Are you a species or a hand with regular abilities? 

Dante~ I'm a rare species it's nothing much…

Velvet~ Nonsense we never see or have any rare species over. Normally we have the werewolves or the vampires here at night. 

Night~ Velvet What the hell does this have to do with anything? I want him out.

Velvet~ You mind telling us what you are? 

I choked and had nothing to say. I couldn't tell them I was a Night Owl I mean Twilight knows and is ok with it but her parents on the other hand… I looked over at Twilight and saw her shining, worried-looking eyes telling me not to say anything. I wanted to just run away and avoid this but I couldn't just avoid this I had to confess or her parents would have never trusted me… 

Dante~ I come from a kind that was seen as savages of the past. The kind that sees our wrongdoings and has turned over a new leaf. I rep the Night Owls, a nocturnal species. And I will do whatever it takes to keep the ones I love the most as safe as possible. 

Velvet looked at me with a smile on her face and hugged me. Her husband stood confused so did I. I didn't know what was gonna happen next. I didn't want them to take Twilight away from me because of my kind past and what we were known for. Velvet pulled away from me.

Velvet~ Night he's one of them along with me. 

Twilight~ What! You mean you're…

Dante~ You're a night owl? 

Night~ *sigh* I'm sorry Dante… words can't describe how sorry I am… 

Dante~ Don't mention it at all. Anyway, how do I know you're a night owl? 

Velvet~ Night Light, Twilight can you two let me talk to Dante alone, please? I have some educating to do. 

Night~ Let's go Twilight… Now! 

Twilight~ Ok… 

Twilight gave me a quick kiss before she left the room. A minute later Velvet revealed a hidden mark on her neck. The mark was black and glimmering just like my night-like aura. I couldn't believe my girlfriend's mom is a night owl.

Velvet~ All night owls who have this mark have sworn to never use their abilities for evil and protect others no matter who or what they are. And when the promise is broken we desync in other words we lose our abilities forever and eventually die depending on our age. This all happened after our people started to be killed by others who wanted us dead. We wanted to turn over a new leaf like you said so our leader created enchanted magic that lets us know that we are not who we were before. We swore to never harm innocent people but to protect them and he gave us these marks.

Dante~ You were alive back then even before you turned over a new leaf?

Velvet~ Yes… I killed anyone I hated and I regret all the wrong I've done to the world because I'm part of the reason why the government wants us dead…

Dante~ they found me at my home and sent a message saying that they were gonna spare me and my mom. They said there is something special about me. Something that my mom and I only have. 

Velvet~ Your mother her name is Rose, isn't it? You look just like her. 

Dante~ Well yeah that's her. She was the one who told me a little about our past but she never told me about a mark. 

Velvet~ She has the mark herself I know because I was right beside her when we swore to the night owl's name. I just don't understand why she would keep that information from you.

Dante~ That's her way of "keeping me safe" she keeps Important information from me. Especially in the middle of a crisis right now. 

Velvet~ What's wrong?

Dante~ Turns out I had a secret brother that she never told me about and now he wants to kill me. 

Velvet~ You must be talking about Donny… he never swore that he would protect others rather than harm them. When your father died it practically tore him to shreds. Donny's been looking high and low for the man that murdered your father; he even kills the ones that are no use to him… 

Dante~ Pops probably killed many others the entire time he's been going to school. 

Velvet~ Pop? 

Dante~ Oh he's the leader of the Dawgs aka the school bullies there are four of them well three now. The only one I've seen is pop. He probably killed the others. 

Velvet~ No doubt he's mad because your mother threw him out when she had you. I kept telling her not to disown him but she wouldn't listen… I knew something like this would happen one day but I thought he would have come after rose. 

Dante~ I want to talk him out of it but I don't think he'll listen. 

Velvet~ He won't listen to you, Dante… I'm gonna say this once and I need you to get this in your head. If you're gonna talk him out of anything it's gonna be with your abilities. Rogue night owls are stubborn and I can assume that's your brother in a nutshell. Do you understand? 

Dante~ Yes… I understand completely. I need to get back home. My mom might be worried about me right now. 

Velvet~ Yes of course do you know how to fast travel? 

Dante~ Yeah I figured that out on my own it scared Twilight when she first experienced it but I was there to let her know that it was ok. 

Velvet~ One more thing I'm glad Twilight has a guy like you in her life. I asked what you are and you didn't back down from the truth. I wanted to know if you were willing to tell possibly your darkest secret so you could be there for Twilight and for that I welcome you here at any given time. And feel free to fast travel here if you want. 

Dante~ Thank you velvet. 

I didn't want to take up any more of her time so I left the house. While fast traveling back home I started to look around the dark, glimmering aura surrounding me thinking to myself.

Dante~ Wow today has been the craziest day of my life. I found out I have a secret brother and he wants to kill me, Twilight became my girlfriend, Sunset was hospitalized, I found out my girlfriends' mom is a night owl. I guess that makes five of us. Three of us are normal, one of them is trying to kill me and I'm sure the last one is a sex addict. 

Jamie~ You must be talking about me. 

Dante~ AHHHH HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE!? 

Jamie~ Oh come on Dante you know I got tricks up my sleeve. Anyway, I heard you have a girlfriend. 

Dante~ Yeah what about her?

Jamie~ Well since you're taken I can't call you my king anymore so I decided to respect your relationship and leave you alone. 

Dante~? Never thought that would happen. 

The dark glimmering aura disappeared and I was in my room. I walked over to the door and left the room and headed downstairs. Jamie followed me and wanted to watch TV in my living room and as a good friend, I let her as long as she wasn't bothering me. I walked into the dining room finding my mom sitting at the table. 

Dante~ Hey mom I'm sorry I'm late.

Rose~ Oh it's ok honey bear I understand you're a busy guy. So how was your day?

Dante~ Crazy I'll tell you that. One of my friends became my girlfriend, one of my friends was hospitalized, you gave me this enchanted necklace, and I found out my girlfriend's mom is a night owl her name is velvet.

Rose~ velvet…? 

Dante~ Yeah she told me she knows about you and Donny… 

Rose~ Dante, I think you should go to bed, it's getting late. 

Dante~ Ok I'll talk to you later goodnight I love you.

Rose~ Love you too. 

Jamie~ Hey Dante is it ok if I stay the night? 

Dante~ Where is your home like seriously? 

Jamie~ *sigh* The truth is the reason why I stay with everyone is that I have no one… I don't have a home to go to Dante…

Dante~ I'm… I'm sorry I didn't know. 

Jamie~ It's ok Dante. 

Dante~ No it's not ok I'm not gonna let you go back out there in the dark alone. Look, you can stay here for as long as you need. We have an extra room if you want it. 

Jamie~ Really… you would do that for me…?

Dante~ Jamie, you deserve a place to stay. Not just that you deserve a family you don't deserve to be alone, out there, cold, and possibly hungry. 

Jamie~ Thank you, Dante… 

Jamie hugged me before she walked upstairs. I followed her upstairs going to my room. The second I was in my room I closed the door I was so tired I didn't bother changing out of my clothes. I took my shirt off and laid down in bed under the covers and soon fell into a deep sleep.
