For Tonight. Chapter 2.

The more the girls walked the more they noticed the scenery around them. The trees large and dark, leaves in all kinds of green colors, flowers here and there. Suddenly Aiel stopped walking, Nel looked perplexed at Aiel's sudden action.

"Nel..."

"Yes Aiel?"

"Im hungry.." Aiel looked down at the floor in embarrassment. "Well we're in a forest(?) so there might be some bushes around with berries there's also a lot of trees so theres a chance fruit might be on them.We can go check if you want." Aiel nodded and smiled.

The thought of a stranger who she met not long ago cared for her needs and was willing to go find such things with her.

'She didn't mention hunting. I assume she doesn't know how to either.'

Nel soon started walking deeper into the forest. She crouched down grabbed a stick, went back to the trail they were on.

"Are you marking where we were?" Nel nodded. She soon wrote and arrow.

'Wow, to show which direction we were going! Smart!'

Nel quickly turned around and started walking into the forest not forgetting to make a trail behind them filled with X's. As Nel was doing that Aiel looked around, in search of finding fruits to take and eat.

"Theres some!" Aiel pointed in-front of them. A tree which was quite short compared to the rest of the trees. It wasn't the shortest, taller than Aiel and Nel. The tree had some strange scratch marks, its leaf shape was also different from the rest of the trees around.

"Aiel thats a ominous tree.. maybe we should look for another one?" Nel looked at Aiel worryingly.

"Maybe this tree is more normal than we think, I mean we cant remember anything. As far as I know this tree can even heal wounds!" Aiel said sarcastically. "Alright, alright." Nel had conceded. Aiel soon ran up to the tree, running into small plants which made her stumble a bit. "Be careful Aiel!" Nel yelled soon speed walking towards Aiel. "Okay!" Aiel responded, knowing full well she wouldn't. As Aiel ran up to the tree she soon noticed that the tree was taller than her.

'This is going to be difficult..'

Aiel looked behind her looking at Nel. "Can you get it? Ill lift you and you try to get as many fruits as possible." Nel looked distressed but agreed. Aiel crouched as Nel slowly started trying to sit in Aiel's shoulders.

'She won't break right??'

Soon Aiel slowly got up and Nel carefully but hurriedly started grabbing fruit from the tree, as she noticed her hands full she asked Aiel if she could be let down. Aiel jerked to the right a bit and Nel yelled out. Aiel slowly let down Nel giggling while doing so.

"That wasnt funny Aiel."

"It was for me! Thank you for getting the fruits" Aiel said taking some fruits from Nel's grasp to lessen the weight in her hands.

"This will be troublesome carrying these around the whole time like this." Aiel said furrowing her brows. Nel looked around and noticed some plants with long leaves.

"Aiel, can you hold these? I'll make a basket while you hold these." Aiel nodded. Soon Nel plucked a pile of leaves and started making a basket. Aiel watched Nel carefully forming the basket. Her slender fingers moving here and there with leaves in hand. Aiel kept observing the process.

'I'll remember this just in case.'

Aiel looked up. The sun started setting. Aiel started looking around for a place to settle down at. Unfortunately there was none in her range.

'Better to be safe than sorry.'

Aiel decided they would sleep in that spot for tonight.

'It may be dirty here but it could be worse. I just hope no snake comes out of nowhere..'

Nel looked over at Aiel and shortly noticed her looking down and being gloomy. Well, their situation isn't the best in the world, could be worse. Nel smiled to herself, remembering the thought of how Aiel accepted the name she gave her, especially the name Aiel gave her. Nel.

'Such a pretty name, even if it sounds like a pet name.'

Soon 10 minutes rolled by, soon 10 minutes became 20 minutes then 30 minutes . Each time Aiel keeps looking more bored. Aiel looked over at Nel, she looked proud. Once she saw the basket Nel had made she smiled. Such a spacious and strong looking basket.

'Surely that will hold for our travels.'

Aiel stood up and walked over to where Nel was, Nel nodded, Nel grabbed some fruit from Aiel and one by one placed them in the basket. Aiel did the same after Nel had finished. The sun had set, it was now dark with very little light that the sun gave off. Both Aiel and Nel ate some fruit slowly in order to savor and save food.Aiel soon laid down and closed her eyes. Nel laid next to Aiel and grabbed her hand. Both girls soon fell asleep waiting for dawn to come to set off once again on their journey.
