" What's with you and parties? " I asked, after Magnus was done with his and Elias conversation.

I mean I don't mind this one since it's actually a quite one today but right after this one we have to go to another party -thanks to a fire massage from some shadowhunters- where we will officially meet Alec Lightwood -After asking Life since Death was busy I finally found his name. hence why I didn't say no but like for reals what's with all the parties??

" It's the only time I can act cool and remind people that am in charge? Plus parting is fun and you my dear need more fun. " He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

" I assure you my ears don't need anymore fun. " I said remembering the last party.

" Oh calm down, this time you know what will happen you can just use magic to help your ears if you want. "

Hours later we have finally arrived at the party where Alec can finally meet us.

" Hey what do you think will be his reaction to... well the feelings? "

" You mean Alec? " I asked to make sure.

" Well yeah. Who else? "

" Hm... he'll probably be a bit hesitant. He was raised by shadowhunters who don't seem like pro gay people and it wouldn't help that we are also warlocks -well for me it's half-warlock- so I really doubt he will be accepting of those feelings. Plus if I know one thing it's that he seems to have a crush on his parabatai. "

" Hmm that's both intriguing and alarming. "

" Don't worry. He's just confusing the feeling of parabatais and love together also we are soulmates no matter what we will always meet each other and love each other. The only question would be what kind of love. "

" Right, by the way we should definitely decide -with Alec too- what to do. "

" What do you mean? "

" Well you are fifteen physically. I am way too old -and no am not telling how old I am. Alec... well we need to talk about that too. This whole thing is definitely new to all of us so we need to talk to understand it. "

" Hm true, however I know that I don't mind since I will always be there if any of you need me. "

" Same here. "

After that we just smiled at wach other and went back to watching people get high -me- and checking if we look ok -Magnus.

" Magnus. "

We both turned to look at a 5'11 boy with blond hair and ember eyes.

Next to him was Clary Fray.

Magnus got up and got into is act while I got comfortable into my sit to watch the show.

" Clary Fairchild. you've grown into a beautiful young woman. "

" Magnus Bane. So you're the one who stole my memories. "

' A rude one. ' I thought sipping whatever this blue liquid was. At least it was delicious, though it helps that I am somehow immune to alcohol and drugs cause I would have died by now with how much I have drank thanks to boredom. Well back to the conversation.

" At your mother request. She knew the risks. "

" I sure hope so. " I said under my breath. Though it didn't help since the blond boy has been watching me like he was waiting for something.

" Oh how rude of me! I haven't introduced myself! " I got up to do an exaggerated bow.

" My name is Hadrian. Nice to meet you. "

" He's with me. " Magnus said while I just smiled and went back to my comfortable position in the chair and continued to watch the show.

" Show me the jewelry, shadowhunter. " Magnus said to the blond.

The blond took his right hand where the jewelry fell from. Magnus extended his right arm to take it before the blond moved it away from his reach.

" Ooh... Give Clary back her memories, and you get the jewelry. " He said.

I raised my right eyebrow. ' They are quite... sasy no, not sasy what's the word? ' While I was trying to figure out the word Magnus managed to fool them into giving him the jewelry without giving the memories away. Though he didn't have them.

" Now it's your turn to pay up. " Someone maybe Clary said.

" I wish I could retrieve your memories, but I no longer have them. "

" What? Where are they? " Clary said with a hint of panic in her voice.

" I feed them to a memory demon for safe keeping. "

' Ah that's the word! Arrogant! They are too arrogant without any power to back up their arrogance. ' I thought then brought my focus back to three people in front of me.

" And why the hell would you do that? "

" To protect Clary and the Cup. If Valentine ever captured me, he could torture Clary's memories out of me. Just like he tortured Dot. "

' Like I would let him. ' I said scoffing a bit at the idea of me leaving Magnus to get hurt or worse to die.

" Tortured? Wait is Dot okay? " Clary asked in worry.

" You don't know? Dot is dead. "

' Hm talking about dead people around Death's Master. That's actually a funny thing. Sad that they don't know. ' I thought with a small smile that I made sure that they couldn't see since that would be inappropriate in this situation.

" What? How do you know? " She asked in disbelief.

" I can't feel her magic anymore. Valentine killed because she would not betray your mother. "

" Oh, my God. " She said shaking her head.

" Come with me, Clary. My lair can offer you protection no shadowhunter ever could. "

The blond scoffed.

' You know now that I think about it, we never did get his name. Hm but by his description I'll take a guess that this is Alec's parabatai. So that means he's Jace Herondale. ' I thought now sipping a red drink.

" No! No I'm not going anywhere with you. "

' Ha a fool. ' I thought half way through my drink.

" Don't be a fool. Your mother would want you to live. "

" Then help me get my memories back from whatever demon you gave them to. "

' How would that do anything? You'll just have the memories of where the Cup is and the guy could torture them out of you from what I know of him. ' I thought looking at her like an idiot even though no one was paying attention to me.

" Valentine is hunting you, too. And every moment we're outside my lair's protection, is a moment Valentine gets closer to finding us. "

Halfway through his explanation I made a portal.

" Come with us. "

She looked at the hand that Magnus extended, then at me and finally at Jace who shook his head.

" I won't offer again. " Magnus said finally done with all the hesitations.

" No. No, I won't hide from my problems and neither should you. " She said looking at Magnus's eyes. I whistled turning their attention to me.

" Girl you should say that when you are strong enough to protect yourself. Right now you only look like you are waiting to jump into danger and expecting others to protect you. " I said looking into her eyes.

" Hey! " Jace said, ready to protect the damsel in distress.

" What? I only mentioned the facts. " I said looking at him with an expression that said he's an idiot since he kinda is.

Before he could say anything a voice interrupted us.

" Look out! "

Right before that voice could finish their words I pulled Magnus towards me, thanks to him being about 5'11 and me being 6'0 it was easier to hide him from the arrow that would have hit him hadn't he been moved on time.

" I could have dodged it myself you know? "

" I know but I still did what my body screamed me to do. " I said.

' Ok why was that cringy? '

" Cause you're cringy. "

" Did I think outloud? "

" No you're face did. "

" Ha ha, rude. "

We turned to look at Alec who was now checking on the dead spy. After looking for a couple seconds we turned around, ready to leave.

" Wait! " Clary shouted.

Magnus stopped and looked behind meaning that I stopped to look over him like a worried mama bear or something even though he didn't need me to.

" You're my only hope. " She said.

" Valentine found us. I warned your mother this might happen. "

He then turned around taking my right arm with his left and quickly brought me with him through the portal.

" Wait... "

Was the last thing we heard before the portal closed behind us.

Magnus looked at his right hand.

" Ah, she took my eye ring. And it was my today's favorite too. "

" Then that means that they may end up tracking us. " I said.

" True. Let's go back to the lair. Hopefully Valentine hasn't found it yet. "

" Why do you have to jinx yourself. " I asked with an exasperated expression.

" Ah! Then let's hurry in case they did find it. "

" Stop jinxing it! " I said getting the portal ready.

" Then what should I say? "

" For now let's not do or say anything that can cause fate to play with us ok? "

" Yeah, let's do that. "
