Prologue

I sat down crossing my feet as I looked down on the valley below me. Father was at it again, hundreds of my siblings were screaming as they fell down his throat. I never understood him, I mean, it was not just my siblings, they were his children, did he feel nothing? And then there was me, he never laid a hand on me. Most of my siblings died before they could even see their first century, but I was 150, and he had not yet even attempted to harm me.

"You could stop him you know?" came a voice beside me, I raised an eyebrow and looked at the figure from the corner of my eye. A transparent figure with short hair was looking at me while crossing his hands.

I gave a self-deprecating smile as I stood up, "How do you expect me to do anything? should I speak the language of the dead to him?"

That's right, I could speak the language of the dead, and I could see souls or consciousness' of other gods and titans, how was I supposed to fight? That was all I could do, commune with the dead, sure I may have trained my body within the 150 years of my life, but how was that going to help against a Titan?

"You don't know till you try Hades," said the figure still looking at the sight of my father having his 'snack'.

"Andridous, you know better than me, it's useless," I said before leaving.

Andridous back when he was alive was allowed to train in secret as others took his place in father's supper, all in hope that he could use his gift of corrosion to kill Chronos. But all Chronos had to do was turn time a single second and stomp on his head and Andridous was dead. He was the only one of the dead that talked with me, all the others hated me, I don't know why, but I have the feeling they don't either.

Then as I was walking away I heard it, I heard father scream. My head almost automatically snapped in that direction as I started moving toward the cliff I was on before. Standing on the cliff I could see two siblings of mine, they were I believe around 50 years, and they were fighting father. I searched through my memories and identified them, Zeus and Poseidon, they controlled lightning and water respectively. They had almost no chance.

When I looked at them my heart shivered as I saw into their bodies and saw their consciousness, gods had no souls, gods and titans we were a culmination of the laws we had domain over, as such we had a consciousness, not a soul. As I saw into them I felt them, I felt what they were feeling, the anger, the sadness, the helplessness, and the unwillingness, the unwillingness to leave this world.

My heart shivered uncontrollably feeling their emotions, the overflow of emotions causing tears to flow from my eyes uncontrollably. I gritted my teeth as I saw them, and felt them fight with all that they had, holding on to that sliver of hope that they knew was ultimately useless.

And then as I saw them on their last straw, kneeling on the ground, out of breath, and with father looming over them with his wicked smirk, when I felt their despair, their anger at fate something in me awoken, my anger reached heights I never knew possible as I remembered each and every one of my sibling I had seen die while sitting on this cliff. I felt my anger against myself for not being able to do anything. I let out a primal roar as I jumped down into the valley, landing between my father and my siblings.

"Look who it is, my little Hades" my father sneered, mocking me. As he looked down at my figure.

I looked up at the colossus that was my father as I relived every death I had seen, every dead sibling I had to comfort. "No more" I muttered almost in a whisper.

"What was that son?" He asked, still sneering at me.

"NO MORE!!" I screamed as I leaped towards him, my body moving on its own.

I was swatted away in an instant as father backhanded me, I landed on my hands and feet like an animal as I jumped towards him again, this time landing on his head I plunged my hand into his skull, feeling something in my grasp by instinct I pulled it out. I heard a gasp as my father fell to his knees, as I looked into my hand to see what I had captured I saw the consciousness of my father trapped within the grasp of my palm, my eyes widened as I realized what I had just done. I looked up at Zeus and Poseidon their eyes widened and mouths agape, just as, if not more surprised than I was.

I regained my bearing as I put on my normal calm expression and looked them in the eyes "Are you alright?"
