A little over a week had passed since Emery woke up from a coma. She spent almost her time in her hospital room, except the time when Marcus or her family member took her out for some fresh air. Her leg will need some time to heal and she had to rely on the wheelchair for the time being.

Emery had already found out that both her father and brother were more than busy. However, they still managed their time to visit her every day. Her older brother was 28 and he was the Vice-Chairman of Hayes Group. So, he had a lot of work to do.

With that, the one who spent time with her the most became her fiance, Marcus Pierre. She also had a caretaker who was a female and that helped her a lot.

Marcus's mother, Dr. Lucia Pierre checked on her often and Emery always found her very warm and caring. She was told that her mother died when she was 4 and that made her wish to have a mother like Lucia Pierre. The father, Mason Pierre also came to see her twice more despite being so busy.

They were the people who made Emery believe that she wasn't alone. She belonged in the same world as them. This feeling cheered her up and it helped a lot in her recovery.

Marcus Pierre was still aloof but there were times when he talked a lot. With less than two weeks left before the summer vacation ended, she can't wait to know more about him.

Oh! She also had two friends who were pretty cheerful. Mia James and Sarah Reed. She heard that they were from the same university as her and they were friends for a few years now. The two used to visit her often.

When her two friends first came to visit her, Marcus was with her and they were more than surprised to see him by her side. That made her realize that she didn't have a close relationship with her fiance. They were her closest friends but... they told her that they were stupefied to see how well she get along with her 'aloof' fiance. They also said that she had changed a lot.

How would she even know that? Putting aside her behavior, she had to learn even her own name!

While Emery was sitting on her hospital bed with Marcus sitting on a chair beside her, Dr. Lucia Pierre walked inside the room with her usual friendly smile. "How are you doing, Emery?" Dr. Lucia asked her.

"Much better," Emery responded. Her once pale face had started gaining back its color and her beautiful sky-blue eyes weren't that lifeless anymore.

"That's a relief," Dr. Lucia remarked. "I have good news for you," she added.

Good news? Emery was suddenly filled with curiosity. "What is it, doctor?"

"I just talked with your father. He knows that you're very bored of the hospital," Lucia Pierre started with a chuckle. "So, he makes arrangements for you to continue treatment at home. That means you will be discharged today."

"Really?!" Emery exclaimed, almost jumping on her bed. However, that only hurt her head and it earned her a chuckle from Marcus's mother.

"Yes, really," the doctor said and turned to her son. "Marcus, help Emery pack her things. Jason will soon be here."

"Alright," Marcus Pierre replied and Dr. Lucia shifted her attention back to Emery.

"You don't have to worry about your treatment, Emery. Your father is hiring the best doctors for you and I will also come often to check on you," she said in her usual warm voice. "You might even benefit from the feeling of being at home."

"Thank you so much, Dr. Lucia," Emery said with an exciting smile.

Lucia Pierre nodded at her and walked out of the room.

Emery Hayes looked up at her fiance who just stood up to pack her things as his mother's instruction.

"Good for you," Marcus remarked while turning in her direction. "You will finally stop complaining about being stuck in a hospital room."

Emery chuckled at his remark. "Shouldn't you be the one to feel more grateful? You won't have to spend your day in the hospital anymore."

"The location is changed. That's all," he bluntly replied. "It's obvious that my parents will push me to your house each day."

"You're stuck with me then," Emery Hayes simply said and Marcus helplessly shook his head.

"You have become more menacing each day," he pointed out with a disappointed expression on his face.

"If I'm as quiet and aloof as you, I bet I will soon die due to boredom. At least, one of us has to be normal."

Marcus rubbed the side of his face and stared at her for a while before he slightly smiled and started packing her things.

Emery watched him as he moved around in the spacious room. He was pretty detailed in everything and it made her wonder that he must be the type of guy who sought perfection in everything.

Well, he's pretty perfect himself. It's just that... he always appeared too cold.

As Marcus's mother told her, her brother soon arrived but he left again to deal with the discharging process.

Once Jason walked inside for the second time, Emery already got changed into casual clothes. Then she left with her brother and Marcus.

Emery settled in the backseat of her brother's black Mercedes Benz S-Class with him but Marcus drove his bike and went home. He said that he will come and meet her the next day.

The drive from the hospital to her family mansion only took 15 minutes. Her family home was very near just like Jason told her the day she woke up from a two-long weeks coma.

Once the driver pulled over the car, Jason got off and prepared the wheelchair for her. With a little smile, he carried her and helped her settle into the wheelchair. "You're home now, Emery," he said to her with his usual calm voice.

Emery glanced around and found herself near the big door of a large mansion. Even the courtyard alone would be able to house a few more houses! The walls of the breathtaking mansion were made of the finest classy marble stones and mesmerizing glasses.

There was an enchanting middle-sized fountain in the middle of the courtyard which was opposite the door. There was a garage, a small garden, and several outdoor lounge areas in the courtyard. Not to mention that the security of the mansion was really something!

While Emery was busy observing her surroundings, Jason hold the handles of the wheelchair and pushed her inside the mansion. Several servants and the butler of the house were waiting for the siblings.

"Welcome home, Miss Hayes," the butler who was a man in his 50s said to Emery while bowing to her respectfully.

Now that she was surrounded by people whom she couldn't remember, Emery could only smile in return. However, she was glad to finally be home.

"Your room is on the second floor but because of your current condition, I prepare a room for you here on the ground floor," Jason said to her. "Use that for now and once your leg recovered, you can return to your original room if you wish."

Emery nodded and with an exciting smile, Jason quickly said, "Let's go. I will show you your room."
